not that it s any of your concern , however the " God hates me " situation has gotten worse and I am actively suffering for it . If you must know .

I m not entirely certain how it started , but I found myself dizzy and sweaty and on the floor , dragging in air against burning lungs . The burn was familiar enough , the twist in my stomach too , however came this ripping sensation in what felt like my nerves , and this was new . It was new and everywhere at once , leaving no room to breathe or even think , really .

A neighbor somehow discovered me and called an ambulance . I .... Suppose I didn t look very well . But leaving seemed to have adverse effects : there were -- are -- these crimson vein-like tendrils which snake and spread under my skin , getting worse when I arrived at the hospital .. and when I escaped .. and when I was almost run over ..... and when I finally came home . All along great pain has accompanied my new condition save for being back in my own apartment when I sat with Puck ( entity I threw up ) .

Looking at it I knew it felt as I did and I as it did , and somehow this inexplicable reciprocity of emotion eased my burden , far more than it should ve . It knew the anger and shame and guilt that sits on my chest . It knew and curled closer . It knew and I felt all my past pour into it , and it accepted swallowing what made me sick .

It doesn t seem to want to leave my side and that , in its own strange way , is fine with me .

My jealousy is unbelievable.

The sound of crunching leaves can be heard, heavy paws snapping twigs as it drags its considerable weight around. As it approaches, it seems to get a whiff of someone roaming nearby.

A familiar aging lab shuffles over to Neo, paws wet and muddy. A panting face that almost seems to smile as it greets them.

[Neoptolemus stands, staring for a moment before giving a proper greeting: a smile breaks across their face, sincere and drawing deep lines, he leans down with some effort and gently scrubs the soft fur behind the canine aquaintance' ears]

Hello there Baxter , how d you get out here , buddy ? Are we fleeing ? What reason will you give ? Do you reason at all ? Do you ? Do you , silly dog ?

The old lab doesn’t seem to really understand anything Neoptolemus is saying, especially not anything about giving a reason, he just stands there, accepting pats and panting. He just seems happy to be outside. After a few moments of pats, he turns his head back, glancing at his owner who seems content with attempting to skim rocks and sip what seems to be her 3rd redbull. After confirming his scruffy looking owner is still nearby, he attempts to stick his big, wet nose into Neoptolemus’s bag.

[it follows the gaze of old Baxter, spying the peculiar doctor they wave, but before he can call out to her it feels a sudden rustle and jolt against their back, the crumpled up creature in the knapsack as curious of Baxter as Baxter is of it]

Oh nononono , Baxter , no !

[he takes the black bag into its arms, a vain attempt at holding the thing still]

At the sight of all the commotion and thrashing coming from the bag, the lab takes a few steps back, posture shrinking down and tail tucking between its legs. With a cautious glance at Neoptolemus and whatever they were hiding in their bag, it runs back off to it’s owner.

[he grips the bag and its ungodly contents tighter, their fingers and body stiffen in place but for the slight shaking, knees digging into warm mud, twigs and stones. Regret starts to slowly churn through those red, grasping veins, giving them a subtle pulse. Neoptolemus' breathing rags in and out, a mismatched rhythm the hidden homunculus seems to mock.]

After seeing Baxter whining and anxious, Stevie looks up from her rock skimming and notices the familiar face. She also takes note of their strange wriggling bag and silently hopes it’s not that fuckass dog creature. Please do not be that fuckass dog creature. Aha.. what are you doing out here.. just uh- having fun sitting in the mud.. cause, uh- it sure looks like it.

[they manage an awkward, toothy grin, unconsciously hunching its shoulders, eyes squinted in mounting dread. It felt as though his skin were crawling --and who can say? Maybe at this point it really was.

How are you , this evening ? Enjoying the fresh creeky air ? I do like to . sit . In the mud , yes . It s so nice , like a face mask but for your lower body . And through your clothing . All the moisture without the dirt , heh hehe heh hhh .

I’m- fine..? I didn’t expect to see you around in the middle of the woods tonight.. aha.. obviously.. I don’t expect to see people walking around here at 4am. Also uh, I think you’re going to get like, sick if keep rolling around in the dirt.. You might want to get out.

[he shifts their weight uncomfortably, as if trying to remember how to get up. They put too much pressure at once on a half-asleep foot, landing it chest first in mud, arms scraped by rocks. His bag was thrown a foot or two in front of them, though tied shut the creature swallowed by this flimsy sack managed to wriggle free a grotesque appendage. It was grey and seemed to be layers of thin flesh-like materials wrapped and twisted around one another, bumps and ridges piled on, joints twisting and snapping as it was lazily flung back and forth-- it almost seemed to wave hello.

Horror sparked across Neoptolemus' face-- it was one thing to send a picture but to show it in person? At least a picture could be photoshopped.

He grabbed the bag in a heavy swoop and hauled itself up despite the pain. It tried to keep talking while they turned his back and roughly stuffed the escaped bit of beast back in its cage. It chirped and hissed in protest but was duely ignored]

M . Mmm . Uh . I actually do enjoy a nocturnal stroll every so often , you know , when the weather proves suitable . A nice opportunity to get of the apartment .

Watching them flail through the mud, she can’t help but wince a little at it all. As she notices whatever it is extend from the bag, a soft groan can be heard coming from Stevie. God, it really is that fuckass dog creature. Yeah.. that’s really cool. Staying active is sick as hell. But uh, maybe you could talk up an active hobby that doesn’t involve getting so muddy. Do you want to borrow like, a towel or something?

[they continue to struggle against the heaving wretch, at one point the creature's arm shot out and smacked Neoptolemus in the face. His posture is hunched and footing uncertain, the more they try to get it back in the bag the more it tries to wriggle free]

Oh , I don t typically become so soiled , pun intended . It was wetter than I had anticipated .... which admittedly , I should ve , given I was walking by a creek ... Hm .

Are you just going to keep trying to pretend that I can’t see your weird dog creature..? Aha.. you aren’t doing a great job at hiding it.. I can see it poking out.

[he looks over its shoulder with an unnatural gleam in its eye. They finally win their disturbed wrestling match and tie the bag tighter this time. The air around them stills and swirls in strained patterns, like wind trying to blow in from a another world altogether. He looks back down at their captured little beast, hearts beating in tandem.

They turn to face the stone skipper, bagged creature more settled now, and held tightly to its chest.

Mouth dry, and loose strands of blonde cling to its face like tentacles creeping over it, he stares at her, uncertain if they should run while it can or say something it shouldn't.]

Well, I’ll uh- leave your creature to the mud then aha.. if you’re just gonna stand there and uh.. stare. I hope you and your not dog have uh- lots of fun. Don’t catch too many diseases.. haha.. doctor’s orders.
