americans generally have difficulty empathizing with people from other countries but frankly many of you struggle to even recognize that canada IS a foreign country, not just an extension of the united states. canadians aren't real to you and canada doesn't matter to you. you don't care to know how you actively affect us; you only care about how our suffering inconveniences you. that's why your government gets away with repeatedly threatening to invade and annex my country, openly interfering in canadian politics, policy, and health systems, and fostering far-right separatist movements, and you do and say nothing about it.
