Hey all, Neo Yi here.

Okay, so my main account (neoyi.tumblr.com) was accidentally terminated almost two weeks ago. Ticket has been sent, but I've read (during my numerous internet search on What To Do About This) that it can be anywhere from days to weeks to months before I potentially get my account back (no shade, I'm aware staff is understaffed, so it is what it is), so I created this backup until I hopefully get my old one back.

If, for whatever reason, I do not get my main, then I guess this will serve as the new one (with a better username, honestly, but I'll worry about that later.) It sucks because my side blogs work fine, but I cannot access them. One of them is just a backup site for my webcomic, but the other I've used for some of my more adult work (within guidelines, mind you) and gaming live-blogs. In worst, they're just archives now. I am absolutely curious of "Aephorul Has a Stern Meeting with Resh'an's Mother", as well as "A Day In the Office Life with Barma'thazel" and "A Comic About Pitou"!

Aephorul Has a Stern Meeting with Resh'an's Mother

This one obviously takes place during their pre-immortal days, taking place during my Past Resh'an and Aephorul stories when the two were still living in the former's kingdom.

But yeah, Aephorul by this point has nestled himself well in Resh'an's hometown, working in a highly respected scientific quarter partially due to his talents and partially because Resh'an convinced his mother to get him in.

Resh'an's mother has no delusion of her son's preference, she knows he's gay, she's just been keeping that in the down low because their prince cannot simply marry another man, of course. So she starts to notice her son is fancying the hell out of this long-haired, muscular hot nerd who could break noses and would totally drive a motorcycle if the latter existed at the time, and she is Not Having It. And though neither of them has acted on their feelings, she also knows Aephorul has been eyeing the prince for a while now.

So, she invites Aephorul so they could specifically discuss this subject matter. Like, Resh'an's mother does appreciate the scientific contribution he has been making and she doesn't really mind the two of them hanging out (as friends: Resh'an doesn't really have a lot of friends, honestly), but she makes it clear he's crossing a very thin line if he even remotely reciprocates Resh'an should he confess his feelings. I mean, look at Aephorul: he's a dirt poor nobody with not an ounce of noble blood in him and an outsider with no lineage or importance.

Like the thing is, she actually respects Aephorul because he has determination and isn't shy about sticking to his own specific conviction, so she's as much trying to save face for Aephorul. She probably did wish Aephy was a woman because so far, he's been the only one who has managed to at least somewhat rein Resh'an's worst impulses in (as much as he also encourages the, frankly, frequent level of dangerous scientific experiments he has a tendency to get into.) Really, it kinda infuriates her that he's good for her son.

I'm not quite sure what I would have had Aephorul said: just not enough that he isn't banned from the kingdom on the spot, but just enough that he truly and utterly does not give a rat's ass about whether Resh'an is a prince or not and any of the rules and societal circumstances that come with it. He probably worded the latter a bit politely during the meeting.

Resh'an is aware of what his mother is doing, because she's always been suppressing his desires. And it's not that Resh'an would not be the type to just sleep with Aephorul behind her back, but he kept a lot of his feelings for him a secret because 1.) he doesn't want Aephy kicked out, because he likes being around him, and also he doesn't want to ruin Aephy's chances of accessing the best scientific material for his projects and 2.) Well, hot damn, he is genuinely falling in love with someone which has never happened to him and he wants to do something selfless for someone? What the fuck???

But yeah, that's basically what would have occurred. I kind of like the idea that Aephorul and Resh'an's mother actually respect and kind of get along. There is a cordial exchange between the two, but because of Circumstances, there will be no son-in-law in her future.

A Day In the Office Life with Barma'thazel

Oh man, I don't necessary have an idea on a full plot. I imagine this would just be a series of vintages starting from Barmy waking up and ending with him clocking out for the day. I just have images of Aephorul's minions working ala an office setting, but the water cooler just so happen to be located in an evil flesh castle.

Some stuff that has popped up in my head:

The obligatory water cooler decisions.

Barmy dealing with a bunch of co-workers typing mountains of paperwork keeping records of all the multiverses Aephorul has conquered and all the time/space shenanigans to keep track of.

"Hey, Barmy, can you sign the birthday card I got for Nicole? We're also gonna pitch in and get a cake, if you wanna contribute a few bucks."

I want at least one scene where Elysan'darelle is admonishing Barmy for overworking himself to a boss that takes advantage of that ("Have you seen your PTO count? It's ridiculous. Take a fucking vacation!")

There probably needs to be at least one scene where Barmy talks with, I don't know, LeJugg, over mundane shit and the latter just so happens to be in the middle of creating a horrifying abomination. But, ooh, did you hear Peter and Caroline just got engaged?

I imagine the comic would end with Barmy checking up on Aephorul and the latter is reduced to a pile of misery because his ex-boyfriend is currently dating that hot grim reaper guy. And here's Barmy sitting on the side of his bed, trying to uplift him. It only sorta works.

A Comic About Pitou

Pitou gets lost in the middle of a space/time hop with Resh'an and has to find his way home. It'd primarily focus on the latter, but this comic would be prime fuel to have Resh'an genuinely upset that he'll never see his dog again... and Aephorul would be baffled on just exactly when Resh'an started getting affectionate over a fucking animal (Resh'an has never really been a pet person.) Lots of cheesy emotions for this one.

okay but if you ever see a male creative who had a string of great work and then everything else he did was dogshit, go to the "personal life" part of his wikipedia and look at his relationships. you'll either find a major tragedy he didn't recover from (completely understandable) or, more likely, there was a woman in his life doing uncredited shit editing his stuff or contributing generally and she's not there anymore.

I told a friend about this phenomenon in literature and he called me weeks later like, I remembered what you said about women doing uncredited work when tim burton came up. he made a string of bangers then everything else just was nowhere near as good. the timeline matches perfectly to when he was with this german visual artist (lena gieseke). he's done some good work in collaboration, but if things were dug into I suspect we would find she did a lot more than people realise.

so yeah whenever you look around like wow women didn't work in history, or, women aren't auteurs, or, there just aren't as many great female writers - societal reasons for that aside, half the time they absolutely did.

Aephy Goes On a Series of... Dates

Honestly, this one is very recent and I don't think I would have even considered it until I discussed a lot of my works (and Resh'an and Aephorul) with you and the others on discord.

Like, Aephorul to me is so thoroughly in love with Resh'an that it was impossible for me to consider him seeing another. But the more I thought about it, the more it nestled its way into my brain. I'm working on what the possible scenario would be, but this would probably occur a little down the way into Resh'an and Specter dating.

It'd be a combination of Aephorul finally having it sunk in that maybe, just maybe, Resh'an has moved on and is in a committed relationship with someone else and his minions (particularly Barma'thazel) pushing their boss to try and get the fuck out there.

The debate on WHO he should be dating though? That's something I'm working on. Another immortal-ish being the Saboverse? Could be anyone from a member of the Blue Robes to maybe even Phantom (those two can just angst over their lost loves.) I'm also considering maybe a Shovel Knight character to parallel Resh'an dating Specter Knight, and only a couple of handful really would work in my head, up to and including Cardia (I have plans for this character in another comic), Meeber, or... Mr. Hat. Possibly even Phantom Striker just because the last one has some bit of history with Specter Knight.

I'm debating if the relationship will last, though I'm currently on the side of "no, but he gave it a try anyway."

Resh'an Has a Brief Chat with Propeller

I actually try and keep Propeller Knight away from "Specter Knight of the 10,000 Years Future" tales as nothing but the subject of memories Specter wistfully engages in. I have a, I guess, poetic way, of dealing with characters post-death and have a specific rule that they cannot physically appear after they've passed on sans flashbacks (and the latter I try and keep minimum anyway.) I'm very much influenced by Aerith's death in FF7 in that she rarely ever graces the screen again after she dies; the only time we see her is when the crew returns to the ruins of the Ancient and at the very end (which I see it as symbolic as much as it is representative.) I'm also influenced by the supposed "ghost" of Aerith that may or may not be a bug when you enter the church in FF7 post-death once you can return to Midgar. That blink-and-miss it moment without any explanation left a kind of mysterious and emotional impact in my brain. Like I love the idea of a dead character having passed on and leaving behind something that other characters react to.

So, Resh'an speaking with Propeller Knight would obviously occur via time traveling shenanigans.

I guess a lot of this is just me wanting to explore this particular comic I did a while back.

I'm still thinking about what they'd be talking about (with Resh'an obviously keeping his general identity and whom he is dating a secret), but I think it'd ultimately boil down to Resh'an just wanting to know what kind of person Propeller Knight is and why he was so special to Specter Knight.

There is definitely some insecurities from Resh'an that causes him to seek out the man whom his current beau still carries a torch for, but there is a genuine desire for curiosity on just who this man is. And I'm sure he'd be both surprised and expected that a lot of current Specter's way of thinking were carryovers from Propeller.

I'm working on it, but I may or may not have a particular place for if and when I want to do this comic. Because depending on when it takes place in my ongoing Resh'an/Specter saga, it may be Resh'an seeking out Propeller because he is just overwhelmingly curious or perhaps because he's about to make a big decision that could affect his life...
