Guess Jess saw something in him, “the research is pretty disturbing.”

“I suppose. Vocabulary is the most difficult part, always.” Neta-li responded simply before looking away for a moment. “Cults can be disturbing. Though I always have wondered of the line between religion and cult.” She stated with another shrug of her shoulders as she looked at the man. “Things that are that disturbing are also the most important to pay attention to.”

“And just the cadence of the conversation is so long. It is strange.” The statement was an admission of fact. That was how most people spoke back home. Or so she told herself. Maybe she was just a psychopath. “My new role? It’s interesting. Enjoyable. Getting to play a demon is always exciting, wouldn’t you say so? And how is your role?”

“Yeah, Americans talk so weird. I’m going to have feel like my mouth is just so open all the time. It will be bizarre.” Her statements were quick and to the point, as they always were. Though she couldn’t stop an eyebrow quirking up at his second statement. “I mean, killing someone is relatively easy. You just need the proper training. Humans can be made to be rather fragile.” The answer wasn’t meant to soothe, it was simply a statement of fact. One learned in the desert years ago. Humans could die, and she could make them die. The emotionless statement may have unnerved some others, but Mz. Spector really was not someone who would be unnerved by such things. She frankly, did not care.

It didn’t make much sense for her at the moment. “Who could you even be the reincarnations of? Mark Antony and Cleopatra? I thought they were more of a relationship of convenience seeing as how she had a child with his best friend before meeting him...”

Remy hated LA. He’d come for Iz, and because Hollywood seemed like a better gig than Washington. He had skills that only really had value in shitty parts of the world, and he wanted to stop getting shot at for a while. Or at least get shot at less, it was LA after all. 

“This coffee is shit.” Staring at what had claimed to be a cappuccino, Remy poured it directly into a garbage can and sighed. “I swear to God, if the Mexican food is crap too, I’m re-enlisting.”
