Also: if you’re in or near San Francisco, their public library offers access to the entire adobe suite at their technology center, so long as you get a library card with them.

Cool thing is, you don’t have to live in the city, you just need to prove you live anywhere in California to qualify for a card. Bad thing is, you’ll be competing with me and others for access, and you have to be close enough to the main branch to make it feasible, but it’s still an alternative if you like me can’t get around using the industry standard options and don’t have access to this expensive software.

This is from ‘Beasts of Burden’, a really cool comic about a bunch of dogs (and one cat) protecting their town from the supernatural things that threaten it. It’s spooky and sad and really just fantastic. At one point they teamed up with Hellboy. Everyone should read it (if you don’t mind some pretty dark things happening. it is not a cheerful comic but it is a good one).
