I'm also trying to include a few books I haven't talked about previously and some that I haven't seen other folks talk about. I read a lot, and I spend a lot of time recommending books to teenagers who don't like reading lmao. This list got long. Sorry not sorry. Pitches convincing you to read the book under the cut <3
A Master of Djinn - Lesbian detective solves a mystery with her partner in steampunk Cairo. What more is there to say?
A Memory Called Empire - Space opera linguistic book of my heart. Also features a mystery to be solved! Don't let my linguistic nerdery put you off; it's a very interesting world to get to walk around in.
A Tale for the Time Being - Beautiful and sad, but definitely a contemplation of our shared humanity and how we think about the world.
An Absolutely Remarkable Thing - Delightful sci-fi about a YouTuber who discovers a robot alien and gets famous about it. The audiobook is especially fun.
Black Sun - Wherever Rebecca Roanhorse goes, I will follow. There are three pov characters all converging on a solar eclipse. There's prophecies and dope magic and very creepy birds.
Chasing Me to My Grave - This is a book you sort of need the physical copy of because Rembert's art is STUNNING.
Cloud Cuckoo Land - I fucking love this book. It's about the power of books! It's about how we're all connected through time! It's historical, contemporary, and future all at once. It's GORGEOUS.
Educated - One of my favorite memoirs. All about how education and knowledge shape us and our understanding of the world and where we came from.
Hamnet - I've yelled about this book before, but I want to keep yelling about it. It's so beautiful. It's about Shakespeare and the writing of Hamlet against the backdrop of the death of his son, but it's primarily more about his wife. It's one of my favorite books of all time.
Hench - What if after you got injured and disabled by a superhero you went to work as an accountant for the villain? What if maybe the heroes aren't all that good anyway? What then?
Last Night at the Telegraph Club - It's YA and I didn't include much YA here, but I love this book. About a girl coming of age in San Francisco and about being queer and finding belonging.
Piranesi - There's not much to say about this book that isn't a spoiler, but Susanna Clarke is incredible.
American Hippo - So like...hear me out...what if cowboys didn't ride horses...but instead rode hippos? Also, what if they were queer?
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches - A very sweet romcom with a witch and a grumpy librarian. It's adorable.
The Age of Magical Overthinking - Is everyone around you irrational? Yeah? Probably you are too. This will make you think about why. Plus it's funny.
The Anthropocene Reviewed - I love this book, and I use so many of the essays in my own classroom. My favorites are Our Capacity for Wonder and Viral Meningitis. John Green reviews everyday stuff and things, but the essays are beautifully written and very entertaining.
The Blacktongue Thief - The closest book I've ever found to what a D&D campaign feels like. That's it. That's the pitch. Also the first line is "I was about to die. Worse, I was about to die with bastards." So...you know. It's fun.
The Everlasting - This book is SO good. It's about time-travel. It's doomed love. It's about nationalism and how the stories we tell ourselves affect our identity. It has a lady knight and a scrawny historian, what more could you want?
The Expanse Series - Cheating a little here by including NINE books. But like...this series is THE sci-fi series. No one is doing it like these guys. Camina Drummer, my beloved.
The Message - Look, I've loved Ta-Nehisi Coates forever. His essays are incredible and really get to the heart of difficult topics like race and economics. He manages to blend memoir and reporting facts so effortlessly, and there's a rhythm and cadence to his writing that's just so good.
The Midnight Bargain - Stick with me here: Bridgerton meets Pokemon Go. Also, a fantastic look at magic and gender.
The Shadow of the Gods - Viking fantasy. Did you play Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and go, you know what this needs? Magic! Then this is the series for you.
The Starless Sea - This and Babel really fight it out for my favorite book of all time. Another book about books and a magical library.
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow - A book about friendship and video games and changing and growing.
What Moves the Dead - T. Kingfisher can do no wrong. A retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher, but with creepy mushroom shit. Also, that cover is metal as hell.
Wordslut - Linguistic books, my beloved. This is like...such a entry level linguistic book because Montell is hilarious and entertaining though.
And now I'm at the end of this list, and I've thought of like four more books to add, but I WILL REFRAIN.

This is my take on them meeting owo. After the events of Iron Lung, Simon gets isekai'ed and lands on Erid where he is discovered by Grace and Rocky.
I'll have a more clear design of Simon later, but he has some mutation on his body and ability to now regenerate his body parts (with some monstrous side effects/symptoms).

fun fact: i started drawing a short comic after ep 10 about HARRISON FUCKING APOLOGISING TO MAX, because thatās the least he deserved, but things happened and i didnāt have time to finish it, or start drawing the second part. so, hereās a vip i guess? yeah, hereās a vip.
I might just be an idiot, and correct me if I'm wrong, but with how the mentor system works, wouldn't that mean Annie would be the district 4's mentor? like she would be the one controlling the funds sent to him within the game. Did she have to look at her partner and her mentor and decide who she would save? Did she look at the sponsors and their money and realize it wouldn't be enough?
