I honestly think that crying over a book is one of the most prominent sign of compassion for humanity. You’re crying over someone who isn’t really there, doesn’t really exist, but you still feel for them as if you have known them your entire life.

In one episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine, they talk about how trans people have it difficult in prison. In the very next episode the sentence “Nothing is more attractive in a woman than the clear absence of a penis” is uttered.
It’s almost like B99 is a show made by liberals for liberals and its progressiveness is entirely performative.
Just want to point out since the post kind of glosses over the fact that the last sentence is uttered ironically by a gay character who is trying to pass as straight to distract a guard at a women’s prison. The running joke is that he believes straight people are transphobic and homophobic, so when he tries to pretend to be one, he acts that way. The joke is, no one around him acts like what he’s saying is off, making further commentary on how transphobic and homophobic our society is.
tumblr taking things out of context to vilify something good? its more likely than you think
My kink is husbands & wives who are still portrayed as very much in love with each other, because even after years of commitment and kids, they still talk to each other, go on fun random adventures and try new things. No resentment. No portrayal of marriage as a chore. Just actual love.
#ok my favorite trope is ‘couple against the world’ #but not in a dramatic way #more like in a domestic ‘the Jones’s are at the door’ ‘lock down the house hide the kids turn off the lights we aren’t home’ #or like a ‘someone insulted OUR child? let’s fight them’ 'I’ll get the megaphone’ #'lets go to this work dinner and sneak as many mini corndogs as we can home’
Dear women’s clothing designers: yes, I am going to leave the top of my shirt unbuttoned and the sleeves rolled up to my elbows. No, I don’t want ¾ths length sleeves and missing top buttons. It has to be a choice if it’s going to look roguish and handsome. A pox upon you and your terrible designs!
me trying to finish reading a book while resisting another harry potter reread
It’s always funny when you’re reading a sequel and can’t remember the events of the first book but don’t care enough to reread the first book so you just try to remember based on what’s happening in the second.
Some movies have codes so you can have a digital copy as well as a physical one. Books should have codes that you can redeem on your kindle so you can read it digitally.
If you read a book and think that I should also read that book you are 100% allowed to send me a message telling me to read that book.
I love reading a book that you can read 100 pages of and not even realize how much time has passed

This came up on my facebook feed and I am so excited to see how generation Xers and Baby Boomers will find a way to use this to shit on millenials anyways
nice okay we’re off to a good start
oh boy do i have something to tell you about millennials, working, and debt that’s gonna absolutely blow your socks off

Why old people so mad.
It’s funny because millennials can pretty much multitask like it’s second nature simply because it’s necessary to keep up with society, while baby boomers whine about reading subtitles and can’t seem to program anything more complicated than a VCR.
But sure, ok, the kids are lazy and have entitlement complexes
Older Generations: -Make comics about kids not knowing how books work-
Millenials: -Read more books than anyone else-
Older Generations: …no we changed our minds reading a lot is lazy and entitled now
