“well, it seems we are at an impasse.”
“so we are. carry on, cat”
“same to you, bird.”
They literally were in an awkward situation
I love how the bird leaves like “well, I best be hitting the dusty trail”
I will reblog this every time.
oh okay so fun story. when i used to work at a wolf sanctuary, wed get eagles around all the time. it was high in the mountains and wed statted leaving out scraps for the eagles that the wolves didnt want. we also had a cat who we kept around, i dont know why. he just lived there.
so. this one eagle we had started to call Hubert (dont ask why) was characterized by a scar over his eye. one day, i asked where he got and my coworkers told me Hubert got it from one of the animals here. naturally, i assumed that the guilty party was one of the wolves. my favorite wolf, an albino with three legs named Bella, was notoriously protective over her food and so i thought for sure that shed done it.
turns out that, actually Hubert liked to bully the wolves. and the campus cat - an old black one thats now mostly gray from age named Campy - used to protect the wolves that wouldnt fight back. And so one day, Campy got pissed and slapped Hubert and have him a scar and blinded him.
tl;dr: a house cat absolutely can and will eat an eagle and that dude was right to leave
