zZzZzZz… JET LAG!
5 hours difference doesn't seem that big of a deal… until your eyes are bleeding at 8AM because at home it's really only 3AM, and you JUST fell asleep. NOT FUN! Especially when you want to get a start to your day and see all you can see. So here are a few tips to help beat the devil that is JET LAG!
No matter where you are home, or away, ALWAYS make sure to eat a healthy balanced diet. A few days before you leave start eating high protein foods for breakfast and lunch, then dinner mix is up with high carb foods, like a big bowl of spaghetti! Also, limit your caffeine intake to between the hours of 3PM and 5PM everyday.
The day of travel, I know it's hard but limit caffeine intake. Caffeine can take awhile to kick it so it might kick in during a layover! Also, drink lots of water, and (YIKES) avoid alcohol! Also during the day of travel, try to eat a high protein breakfast.
When you I landed in London I was insanely excited, but instead of raging at the hostel bar with the rest of them. I went right to bed at 10PM, because I knew I would need a head start in the morning. I woke up the next day at 8PM, ready to rumble!
