Of the three metaphysical axioms put forward to the mages of this Citadel: The Axiom of Interpolation, The Axiom of Mediation, and The Axiom of Proliferation — this third axiom does not describe any actual truth of the lingua arcana, nor does it more broadly describe any facet of the greater binding.

Rather, this axiom is pure intellectual technology that serves a political purpose within the Citadel, given as magical writ for the expedition of a Citadel convenience. The ramifications of this being made magical law sully every instance of the lingua arcana that it touches. Its danger to the future of wizardry, when the convenience of its acceptance has long since passed — the ripples of its effect on magic itself will still be felt.

Should the archmagi see it in their wisdom to reverse my dismissal, I will be happy to walk them through how I discovered this stain on the face of magic itself.

I'm having an epiphany about "It's Gorgug, keep going" the phrase has always been vaguely comforting and inspiring, but after the last episodes of fhjy where Gorgug is the target for all the dragons and Porter, and he goes down so many times only to pop back up with a gasp wide eyes and continue to attack...

He has faced death so much but when he is healed, he stands up, and goes to work. Like it's the most natural thing to do, the only thing to do, trust your team to bring you back and push through.

To be at a point where you are mentally, emotionally, physically bone tired and be told by the person who is most often at this state of feeling to protect you and the rest of your party- "It's me, keep going." I know it's scary, I know you can do it, I'll meet you soon

I’ve been researching digital art in the context of modern folk art, outside institutional or commercial art. I analysed almost 500 art GIFs across Tumblr, Artstation and GIPHY.

There’s almost no academic research on art GIFs, so it was important to me to examine and document it. I also examined the optimisation of GIFs and how it relates to web sustainability.

And because the bachelor program was focused on art practice, I then created my own art GIFs, and it seemed only right that I should do it through fanart of something I’ve been really into lately. Thanks @samreich and the rest of Dropout for giving me some unhinged content as inspiration. Watch ‘Game Changer’ everyone, it’s great.

This simple (and FREE!) "dolly" trick blew my mind. It's not a perfect substitute for a real dolly, of course, but I love the magic of "faking it"! If you don't have a dolly, or haven't brought one but find a good place for a move like this, this is gold.

So, I now own a Canon EOS 7D. Yup. (!!!) ...and I've been wanting to blog about the camera but I've just been so insanely busy that I haven't found the time!

The good news: I've been busy creating beautiful things.

I just finished this video - a spur-of-the-moment promo video for a theatre project that some friends are involved in. The Vesper Theatre is bringing Wonderland to life in Los Angeles, and I stopped by just before opening night to catch a glimpse of what "The Alice Project" has to offer. I highly suggest getting yourself some tickets - they're going fast.

btw, I used a lace image stabilizer for this video (no tripod), and I think it worked great! At least as stable as a monopod. I made mine using an eye bolt (easier to tie the string to) and tie line. DIYFTW!

I have even MORE exciting adventures planned for this weekend, so stay tuned!

Here it is - my first wedding highlights video. (That's a bit of a "confession" in itself. I hear a lot of advice telling me not to admit that I'm new to some things, but I want to be real here. *bonding moment*)

I worked hard on this, and I'll admit that I took some cues from fabulous wedding cinematographers like StillMotion and Shade Tree Films. It's only natural to emulate work that you highly admire. Hopefully this came out with a good splash of my own personality!

...And more importantly, the couple's personality! Miguel and Dina were a joy to work with, besides being super cute and obviously head-over-heels in love. I'm so honored they chose me to document this special day.

Tech notes:

Shot on 3 cameras: the Canon 7D (favorite for image and low-light performance), Panasonic AG-HMC150 (great standard camcorder, beautiful color), and Canon XH-A1 (meh). I could tell you which camera took any specific shot, if you care to ask. And yes, it was a pain to put them all on the same FCP timeline and try to match the colors. Color and low-light performance on the XH-A1 get a BIG thumbs-down from this vidiot.

Edited in FCP, then dressed up with Magic Bullet Looks. THANK YOU, Red Giant Software, for this beautiful program. Worth every penny!
