Mistborn, Final Empire, by Brandon Sanderson by MarcSimonetti
This year’s bookmas tree in the library.
Who remembers the story about how Death helped save Christmas with the aid of his granddaughter?
Just the kind of thing to come from the imagination of the late great Terry Pratchett and his Discworld book: Hogfather!
Susan Sto Helit, the daughter of Death’s late human apprentice and Death’s adopted daughter, must help grandad Death save Discworld’s Christmas and unravel the mystery of the disappearance of it’s Santa: the Hogfather.

do you ever think about how weird it is that the moral of Frankenstein is kind of less just “graverobbing is weird and creepy” and more “take some fucking responsibility if you’re going to do so”
“if you’re going to create a large corpse son, you better be ready to love him”

Posting on Tumblr my art in the past few months.
they’re soulmates and these chapter titles alone prove it.

Some ways to honor Terry Pratchett on his death day, march 12th
Strive to understand people you perceive as different from you
Tell a truly outrageous pun
Eat a bacon sandwich
Stand up against an oppressive authority (up to and including punching them)
Sing a bawdy song including wizard’s staffs and/or hedgehogs
Consider the importance of Angels
Demand a free but responsible press
Forge a sword out of a meteorite. If you do not have one on hand, store-bought is fine
Take responsibility for your actions, be they good or bad or neither
Recognize there is injustice in the world, but refuse to accept it
Look Up
If you have the hattitude, doff a nice-looking chapeau of some kind
Make time for the things that matter
Live.
hey look an actual finished sketch!
Knowledge is knowing that Frankenstein is not the monster.
Wisdom is knowing that Frankenstein is the monster.
Inktober second. Death from Discworld.
-Mistborn-
If you know me well enough, you know that I will go on and on about the greatness that is any book by Brandon Sanderson. The man is goddamn genius when it comes to worldbuilding, magical systems, and character development. The very first book I ever read by him was The Rithmatist and it immediately captivated me. I had to read more. And then I read Mistborn: The Final Empire.
The entire trilogy of Mistborn, including the second series Wax and Wayne, is some of my favorite all time stories. I knew that I would one day want to draw something from that world.
One day the idea just popped into my head, and by the magical grace of the art gods, it came out just how I imagined it.
