The two were finally face to face with Stormterror, though thanks to a rather freeloading Bard they’ve learned of its origin. A beast that was in pain derived from the very people it had sworn to protect, but he wondered what made it turn against humanity, it still felt as though they didn’t know everything that happened but the details would have to wait for another day as the beast attacked them. Both him and Eivor displayed Agility against the beast, and diluc displayed he fury of his flames that were blown out rather easily by the dragon. 

But that was all part of the plan, giving Eivor enough time to hop onto its body to inflict direct damage, enough to render it hurt and tired on the floor long enough for the two to inflict more pain. Doing their best yet holding back because of a promise made to Venti. They were to try and save this poor creature from its fate and not put it out of its misery. 

But it stands to mention that ensuring they don’t kill the monster was the reason this beast managed to keep them cornered for the moment. Diluc dodges another wind attack with a rather graceful somersault, leaping into the air and landing soundly but it was part of Dvalin’s own place as large sharp talons were launched to claw him to pieces but Eivor had managed to shield him from the attack with their bodies. “Burn!” Imbuing his steel with the flames of dawn once more and cuts through its fingers  causing it to screech in pain, slowly drifting away from Eivor long enough for Diluc to inspect their injuries. “Are you okay to continue?”

The usual late hours of Sucrose conducting her experiments, so hyper focused she had no idea how many days have passed. Rereading notes along with making adjustments on the ingredients while carefully putting them together with not so steady hands. A loud boom sound from her room, follow by smoke and there sat in the middle of the room a child size alchemist in tears. (Throwing this at you..it was a mood.)

Diluc was doing some light reading within his own room after hearing an explosion. Considering who was living with him now these things were prone to happen, Sucrose was simply being Sucrose, all he could do is thank Barbatos that he allowed his manor to stay standing knowing that he has the human personification of Klee’s bomb in her room working on her various experiments. , but he figured he might as well raise himself from his seat and see what’s the matter. Setting the open book down upon his desk as he left the comfort of his room whilst casualy walking through the thick layer of white smoke.

Finally arriving within her room. “Sucrose, are you here?” He spoke out with curiosity in his tone before he saw a figure of her but on the floor. He thought she was hurt so he rushed towards her side only to be surprised at what really happened. Diluc took one step away from her as his eyes widened. “Sucrose..what in Barbatos’ name did you do to yourself?” Slowly he reaches down to pick up Sucrose that had..curiously reduced herself into a child.

As much time as the traveler and tycoon had spent time together, the sigh that she heard leave his mouth she had expected that of pure annoyance. After all, it wasn’t as if he had the time to listen to a young woman cry about something that some would view as trivial. Which in some ways this was. She was being hard on herself, she knew that, but it was his words that had soothed her mind of what others would have thought of her shedding a tear a tear here and there. “Thank you, Diluc,” she murmured quietly giving him a genuine warm smile.

“You needn’t thank me. I’ve done nothing worthy of the notion.” The tycoon said as he dug into his pocket and took out a handkerchief with the initials of his full name stitched in and handed it to her, a kind gesture given to her for the tears shed for her lost brother. The handkerchief he’s given her was special to him, an item of sentimentality that’s always on his person, it was something given to him by his late mother. “Just remember, tears are not a form of weakness, it is simply acknowledging one’s pain, that in itself is a source of strength.”

The bars and taverns make the most sense too, most everyone loves to indulge in alcohol after all. Everyone except her at least… it was rare to find someone who didn’t just drink alcohol for the ‘feeling’. “ Oh, I’m from a long ways off. It’s not exactly well known so I’m not exactly sure what to tell you in that regard. My apologies. “

“ Yeah… I saw all the debris outside. What happened to cause such a mess around here? “

“So what is it I can get you?” First and foremost, the business. Granted it was a shame she couldn’t give him more information. Who knew, he probably would have given her the drink as complimentary, on the house. But, he’d settle for a few Mora if it meant the conversation would carry on. Especially when it came about storm terror. Honestly all Diluc could have done was sigh under his breath as he began washing another glass. “The wreckage was caused by a monster, eventually it gathered the name Stormterror because powerful gusts of winds and storm clouds terrorized the land upon its arrival.”

Its fury was only exclusive to the world beyond these walls, but as the weeks went by, it began making it’s attacks closer and closer until the city itself became a playground for its destruction.” Diluc said placing the glass down once it sparkles a clean glow.

“That’s   us   –”      Yoimiya   replied,   standing   directly   behind   the   man   as   if   she   had   appeared   out   of   thin   air.      —In   reality   she   merely   returned   from   helping   out   the   Saburous.      

Golden   eyes   slowly   scanned   her   new   ‘customer’      it   was   pretty   obvious   to   tell   he   wasn’t   from   Inazuma   and   by   the   way   he   was   dressed   so   snazzily,      he   had   to   be   of   high   status.         

With   that   information   alone   it   was   clear   she   had   to   make   a   GOOD   first   impression   of   their   quaint   little   firework   shop.      

“Are   you   hoping   to   purchase   a   firework?      If   so   Id   be   happy   to   help!   I   mean–      if   you   needed   something   else   or   were   simply   lost…   I   could   help   you   with   that   too!”

“Of course.” His tone of voice was calm, welcoming even as a smile could be seen on his face. The social/casual mask he would often wear in public in order to save face. Because of news regarding the fatui in Inazuma he wanted a sure way within their hideout that wouldn’t draw much attention to him exactly, thus it eventually brought him towards the genius pyrotechnic. “Would it be possible if I can get a crate full of small firecrackers? Nothing at all fancy, I just really enjoy the light barrage of bangs they make once they’re lit.”

An innocent enough lie, he would not want to make her a public accomplice to his cause considering he figured the less she knew of his true intentions the better. Though Diluc went to all the trouble to hide his own pyro vision he could clearly see the one she wore out in the open without a care. “Excuse me miss, I was under the impression that only a selected few under the Shogun’s rule were fit to display their vision in public. You don’t seem like a soldier or part of her clan, so why is it that you wear one so openly?” 

There was power in knowledge no matter how insignificant, he wondered if it had to do with her family’s craft, if anything should there be anyone in Inazuma affiliated with the fatui then there could always be the danger of one of them possessing a vision, just like this young woman.

“Thank you Yuheng.” A shopkeeper nodded to the lilac haired woman so graciously took the bags filled with Xiao lantern materials. Keqing tended to always buy extra supplies just in case. She was about to make her way to one of her favorite spots when she heard her name. 

“Master Diluc?” Keqing tilted her head upon seeing the redhead, “You’re surprised to see me? Did you forget I reside in Liyue? It’s a surprise to see you here. You’re quite far from Mondstadt.” She glanced upward to the lanterns, “Have you made your Xiao lantern yet?” Before waiting for his reply she grabbed his arm pulling him to a table set up to create the lanterns and set her bags on the table pulling out the supplies. She was not exactly giving him a choice in the matter. “I promise I’ll walk you through it. After all I’m sure you have some kind of wish.” It would be a lie if she said she wasn’t curious about what someone like Diluc wished for.  Not too long ago she had encountered Diluc at the Windblume festival where he had been her escort so it was only fair that she did the same for him.

“You misunderstood me, my lady.” The young man then clears his throat as he now stands before the young woman. “I was under the impression that you would be far too busy to indulge in festivities.” spoke the scarlet haired man as his ears caught wind of her asking him about Xiao lanterns but before he’s even gotten the time to answer she simply takes him by the arm and pulls him through the streets until they’ve arrived upon a table to construct one of these lanterns. Then she asked him about a wish he must have, that was easy enough. His wish was that this world was cleansed..no, purged from the scum that festers within it. The innocent should not know terror, they should not have to wake up in the morning with the anxieties of whether or not their children would be safe whilst playing outside. 

But of course he couldn’t just simply wish for this outloud, it was rather far from the ‘festive’ mood, not to mention he wouldn’t wish such a thing upon an inanimate object, this was something he would bring about himself, with his own blood, sweat and tears. Though, he still owed her an answer as his eyes studied her movements, unloading her bags and removing the materials from within them. “I’m pretty sure I’m rather content with all that I have but for the celebration’s sake I think I have one.” A safe wish nonetheless. Diluc would embody this future lantern in the making with the wish of a wonderful harvest.

            Ah, so it would seem the red-haired tavern-keep wasn’t the only one on the job. Light blue gaze glanced over towards the man named Charles, then back at Diluc who had already headed towards the storage room. Eivor stood up from their seat, pushing it in politely before heading over to where he was - entering the room without any hesitation. Once inside, they looked around at all the crates that no doubts hold all that they need for the tavern.             Averting their gaze back towards their companion, they finally decided to remover their hood from their head - feeling less uncomfortable now that they were somewhere private.                      ❝Well, I do know that Stormterror has been stirring trouble recently, and that we need to find a way to subdue him. Though it does make me wonder if someone or… Something is behind all this. The once-protector of Mondstadt couldn’t be doing this for nothing.❞               As they speak, a single hand raises up beneath their chin - contemplating the whole situation. Surely, there has to be more answers than what they are getting. Finally looking back at him, they tilted their head a little.                         ❝Is there more information to go off from, then?❞ 

“Other than it being a tyrannical beast, I’m afraid that’s all we have of stormterror.” Spoke Diluc rather dismissively as he leans his back against the crates. “But, I've gathered information from my hooded allies that the Fatui might know a thing or two. This is where I need to know if the rumors of your skills are as sharp as they say they are. I’ll need you to extract some information from one of the members specifically.”

He didn’t wanted to put them on the spot for a little task before the big mission, but the safety of his city and citizens rests in him putting his trust in the skills of a stranger, word of mouth of one’s skills only goes so far, Diluc needed to know himself of their talents, their skills at obtaining information and disappearing within the darkness of the night. Digging into the pocket of his coat Diluc had removed the photo and handed it towards them. 

The photo contains the image of an adult male, muscular build, blond, green eyes and a scar running down his right cheek. This man’s name was Dimitri, a diplomat that possessed valuable information regarding the fatui, someone important if they wanted to understand their enemy. “Do you think you can get information out of this man? Because if this seems like a challenge then there’s no need for you to be here any longer.”

          It would seem the other picked up on Eivor’s sense of…  Subtly. It was nice to have someone to match the subtle advances, but they supposed they should expect much from the prodigy of the hidden ones. They have heard much of Diluc, and how he has networks to communicate with people such as the hidden ones. Perhaps they shouldn’t look too far in finding an ally - he would perfect for one. Though despite the high praise and respect from the hidden ones, they must also form their own opinion upon him. A good foundation, but they will only know more if they spend more time with their new comrade.                   ❝Thank you.❞           Comes a response, voice low and gentle as they took the glass of wine and held it to their lips. They listen to him speak, before taking a quick swig of the glass and putting it down in front of them. Hand reaches up to wipe their mouth free from the wines essence, light blue gaze looking up at him.                    ❝Did they? Hmm. I must admit, they taught me much, despite never once joining their clan - or creed, in how they put it.❞               Creed, clan… It made no difference to the warrior. They have assisted Hytham many times, and he has for them and their clan. While at first they were on edge with their brothers decision, they were glad the hidden ones made a home in their clan.                They are pulled from their deep pondering when they heard the red-haired tavern keep comment on already knowing their purpose why they were sent here. A small nod, taking another drink of their wine - this time finishing it in one setting before placing it down again - repeating the action with wiping their mouth off with the back of their wrist- light blue gaze looking into his red ones while doing so.                            ❝Ja, I do. Anywhere we could talk that is more… Private? The walls has ears and prying eyes.❞                     If the creed has taught them anything, it would be that they could not talk of these sort of matters out in the open. Too much suspicion can be raised and cause false alarms. It was better to be somewhere private.

That confirms it, they were the person the Hidden ones had sent to help him out. Or more specifically to help the nation, Stormterror cruises closer and closer towards the city and that did not sit too well with those that dwell within Mondstadt. The knights of Favonius have been inefficient at keeping the creature at bay though he could admit that the efforts of one passionate outrider managed to keep the citizens safe, but they were merely treating the symptoms whilst the source of the sickness continues to fester, that was something Diluc sought to cut out once and for all. 

So upon mentioning of a place they can discuss their matters in private was not a bad strategy. Without saying a word he nudges his visual attention towards the tavern’s storeroom. “Charles.” Diluc utters, the man near the table had heard his name and found his way beside his master. “Of course Master Diluc.” There was no need to exchange words, the two have known each other so well that at this point words were simply irrelevant. Charles found his way behind the table and Diluc opened a door that led towards their store room. 

As soon as they removed themselves from the seat Diluc had closed the door. Now they were safe, surrounded by crates which possessed materials needed for the tavern. “We should be alone here. Now, how much do you know of the situation?” Both arms now crossed over his chest, a little debriefing was always a grand idea before those that chose to work with one another.”

Upon hearing the other voice Jean turned with a smile, “Kaeya!” She had been wondering where he was when he had not arrived with Crepus and Diluc. When Diluc mentioned this was a time trial she knew she was about to lose. Kaeya was by far the quickest out of them all and she was not completely sure if she could outrun Diluc as he had some height advantage on her. Regardless she took off after the two, grinning despite the lead they already had on her. 

The trio continued to race through the streets. She noticed that Kaeya and Diluc took the stairs which provided her an opportunity to gain the lead. It was just her versus the wall, her climbing versus the boys running speed. She inhaled diverting her path away from the boy launching herself onto the wall, luckily for her her leap got her halfway up. Without sparing a moment she began to climb, putting everything she had into these moments to scale the wall. As she reached the top she turned her head noticing the red and blue approaching the top of the steps. 

“Not this time.” She landed on her feet continuing on to the HQ knowing the boys were right on her tail now. In a matter of moments they would find out whether or not her different path would be enough to win. But she was not in the mood to clean the stalls today.

Nothing but the sound of laughter could be heard within the streets of Mondstadt as the trio continued their race. Because of Jean's 'fair play' shortcut she managed to reach ahead of the boys even running through the halls of the HQ. Jean tagging the wall first, followed by Kaeya and then finally Diluc, the last one that was left to clean the stables once their session of training was over. “I can't help feeling I was cheated.” Spoke Diluc, Kaeya chuckles before both hands are placed at the back of his temple.  

“And you young lady, you could have gotten hurt.” Said the scarlet leader as he pokes Jean’s forehead with a gentle poke, this was all great fun for the trio, however, they were in a serious place now and Grandmaster Varka was more than willing to remind them with a clear of his throat. The man had a rather masculine stature and a tone that demanded respect. Upon hearing the sound the grandmaster made, Diluc and Kaeya both turned and stood straight with one salute.

“Grandmaster!” They said in unison. Varka glares at them with disdain on his face before he instantly lightens up with a grin and pats Diluc upon his shoulder. “I saw the whole thing, be carefuly sir Diluc. It seems that your squires may eventually catch up to you someday.” That grin still on his face as he looks onto the trip with hope in his eyes. Diluc then turned to look at Kaeya and Jean. Even if he was the only one gifted a vision, he saw them all on equal terms because he had that much confidence in their individual abilities. “A captain can only be as strong as the unit that follows him into battle.” Said Diluc turning to face the Grandmaster.

“Well said Sir Diluc, now I do hope that the three of you try not to rush about the halls too much. Someone could get hurt after all.” After giving them a salute, the man then made his way back out, on his way to begin another expedition. “Whew, I don’t ever think I’ve been this intimidated.” Said Diluc as he chuckles sheepishly.

“Ngh..” He turned to see her receiving a wound from the herald that was prepared to attack him. He took one request from the adventurer's guild as a favor to someone but he would never had guessed that this quest would have eventually lead them into a quarrel with the Abyss Order. “Idiot.” He spoke under his breath, the herald had no angered him, that searing anger is now channeled into the flames that engulfed his body.

His arms raises his sword as the flames began to surround its steel frame and with one mighty swing he unleashes a powerful arte. The flames taking the form of a blazing phoenix before exploding upon contact with the herald. “N-no..Princess..I have.fai-” Were his last words before slowly the figure eroded into nothing but ash until it was gone completely.

“Sora you damned fool.” The young man continues to lecture her upon taking the hit for him, this is exactly why he's kept his identity secret and why he prefer to work alone. Casualties or people getting hurt in his name. Granted her wound was not sever, it was a simple manner of reaching into his pockets for some bandages and slowly began to wrap it around her bicep after cleaning the wound. He barely knew this woman, maybe for a month or so but surely he couldn't be that close to her for her to do such a thing for him. But, the man was still thankful, though his words were harsh his tone had softened, he was quite grateful. “I'm not sure how long adepti take to heal..but you should be fine.”

Today started as another normal day, a day which consists of Razor visiting the tavern in search of its owner. He’s told the pup to come see him within the early hours should he ever wish to continue his training. The boy had something going for him, a fighter’s spirit and the will to protect which is precious. These two things were key in becoming stronger, these were the things he lacked in his own youth. Lisa had told him stories about Grandmaster Varka and herself raising a boy from the wild and there were even mentions of Varka grooming him into a warrior.

The two had squared off in a friendly bout, had it not been for Diluc’s own experience he could have seen Razor being the victor rather easily. Razor had one edge over the tavern owner and that was physical strength, when crossing swords Diluc could have noticed that monstrous strength Razor possessed and having that vision of his did not make things easier in the slightest. Diluc now saw that it was up to him to help Razor channel that strength, thus prompting another day of training out in Wolvendom once they’ve left the main city.

The sun that once stood high within the sky now began to set, soon it will be night which meant training was over. “Let’s take a break.” This was one of the better moments of their training, looking for a spot and enjoying a nice meal from whatever they’ve hunted, be it fowl, rabbits or boars. Though today it was, boar which were skewered and cooked upon an open flame. Before he managed to inspect the meat he felt the other’s body weight shifted against him. 

Curiosity made Diluc cast his gaze towards the side to find the young pup leaned against his shoulders, because of the lack of words shared between them in the moment Diluc could hear him breathing with quiet snores. “Tired huh.” The young man utters under his breath quietly before a fingertip gently strokes a silver bang like a father would his son. It was easy to forget that even though Razor showed so much potential with a sword that he was just a child, underneath that potential and strength was a boy who simply had too much training that his body could handle. Diluc remains  quiet in hopes he does not disturb Razor from his slumber.

         At first, the wolf-kissed was hesitant to accept the request from the Hidden Ones, but Hytham was one of their most trusted people. Eivor knows that he wouldn’t waste their time on the littlest things, so they put consideration into it before finally agreeing to go and check out what all this will entail. They are not going in blind, but they must admit they are thinking about how would one face a dragon.                Wandering in the streets of mondstadt, Eivor wore the hood on their cloak. Synin flew above them, circling around the building called Angel’s Share. Finally entering the tavern, light blue gaze instantly fell upon the red haired male they were informed about. Diluc Ragnvindr… The tavern owner of Angel’s Share, and someone the hidden ones have encountered. Seating themselves at the bar, they pull out some mora, and placed it on the table.                              ❝Wine, please.❞                    They speak softly, light blue gaze flickering to look up at him from underneath their hood. They preferred to start it off like this - just to steer away prying eyes and ears.

There was the person the hidden ones spoke of, a skillful warrior known as Eivor. The organization spoke highly of their skill so Diluc would have to put that to the test for himself soon enough. With the sight of Mora the tavern keeper began preparing a glass, with the proficient skill and grace of an expert their drink was poured into the glass and slid over to them. “Enjoy.” the young man said as he collected the mora that was owed, setting it within the boxes located under the counter among other ‘secret weapons.’ 

“So, the hidden ones spoke highly of you, even though you’re more of a wayward warrior you’ve learned their ways of working in the shadows within the spur of the moment.” His tone is only audible enough for the two of them to have a decent conversation. Diluc remembered the days, years he spent training under them. Whilst they called him a prodigy, this warrior before him was just that or probably a notch or two above him.

“I assume you already know why you were sent here.” That purpose being stormterror, the dragon that would often ravish their land, every day it seems like it comes closer and closer towards the city, people fearing that one day it may very well launch an attack against the city.

It was not all that common for Yae Miko to take on her true form as a fox envoy but every so often the urge would strike. It typically occurred every couple of full moons. Perhaps she enjoyed freely running in the moonlight with the faint glow of the Chihu forest guiding her along the dancing stream. It all seemed normal until she sensed the presence of a human. Unfortunately for her he also seemed to sense her and beckoned for her to reveal herself. 

The flash of a small pink fox ran past Diluc and behind a tall boulder, after a few moments a gentle female voice answered him, “Would you really unleash what feels to be flames in the middle of a forest? I knew humans were foolish but that might take the prize.” A woman slowly emerged from the back of the Boulder only truly visible with the glow of the luminescent plant life with the forest. In this lighting her ears blended into her hair more but the distinct glow of her vision earring was clear as day. 

Yae slowly began to move closer to the man, “You’re not from here. But there’s something else about you. Something that shouldn’t be there…” Little did Yae know that she was sensing a delusion an item that would create its own chaos in the future. She finally stood face to face with the man clearly showing no signs of fear. “Now then, are you really going to threaten a little fix like me?” She smiled only a little clearly amusing herself. Yae had come to fear very little. She would not quiver before a human man who hid himself behind a mask. 

So she knows about his vision, her eyes were sharp enough to catch it’s swift glint of activation. However, the vision wasn’t the only method he’d have to subdue her should she prove to be foe rather than friend. Though considering those ears of hers, fox ears which really brought it into perspective of who or what she is. A kitsune, as they would call them within Inazuman myths, however he could have sworn that he’s read all the kitsunes were gone, turned to statues..or perhaps that was nothing more than a children’s storybook.

Either case he lowers his guard physically in order to show the young woman that he was no threat unless he was provoked. Though, it was quite odd to find someone so deep out into the woods, granted he knew she could ask the same of him but given her clothing..she shouldn’t even be here. “Underestimating you would only prove to be my own downfall, but I’ll entertain the idea that you’re not my enemy.”

Diluc or Scurra knew there just had to be a Fatui base of operation somewhere here in Inazuma. Looking for it himself was just one of the ways he’s trying to tackle the situation before he would lower himself and join the Vision Hunt Decree Resistance.
