Merlin led me into fanfic when I was telling my daughter that since we didn't like the way it ended we could rewrite our own ending. Also fans of Dr. Who. I'm a long term witchy pagan, nature is my church. I love tarot, and am a feminist.

I cannot remember where I saw it but the line “men pay women to look and act like that to convince you to do it for free” lives rent-free in my head 24/7.

it was referencing porn stars, I think, but I think about it constantly wrt beauty standards of all kinds. a small number of women get paid to look and act like that, to convince the majority of women to look and act like that for free. or, more accurately, to pay to look like that.
