#TBT to 3 years ago when I made a New Year’s Resolution that ended up completely changing my life for the better. I didn’t start out wanting to be a bikini competitor or able to lift crazy amounts of weight or anything like that; I just wanted to be healthy, and for me that meant losing weight and undergoing a major lifestyle change, but that change didn’t happen overnight, and I think that’s something that a lot of people with major weightloss or fitness goals fail to appreciate. Anyone can do a complete 180 and go all-in on a diet & hardcore exercise plan for 4 or 8 or 12 weeks, but then what? I think challenges and things like that can provide a good starting point for people to learn about proper nutrition and different exercises and forms of training, but for any results to last longterm you have to accept the fact that the changes that you’re making to your life have to last, meaning they have to be sustainable, which means finding ways of eating & working out that work for your body and for your lifestyle. In the beginning of my journey I mainly just ran and “ate clean,” and while I saw results with those things they weren’t necessarily the results I wanted and they ultimately weren’t things I truly enjoyed because they felt forced and restrictive to me, so I changed how I approached my fit & healthy lifestyle and found that lifting and IIFYM/flexible dieting not only worked for me and my goals, but are things that I actually enjoy, which has helped both my physical and mental progress immensely. Now with that said just because that’s what works for me doesn’t mean that that’s what will be the most optimal way of approaching your journey. There’s no one way to be fit or healthy, so don’t feel like you have to do something just because it’s popular or someone you admire does it; a healthy lifestyle is really one that is tailored to your individual needs, goals, and preferences, so try a whole slew of things to find what that is! So if your resolution is to lose weight or get fit or get healthy or anything along those lines then buckle up for the long haul, cuz if you stick it out you’ll be amazed at the physical and mental changes that occur!🤗
🎉🎊🎈 Happy New Yeaaaar! Spending today with the family and watching youtube videos on how to achieve your new year’s resolutions. 😜 One great tip I found is to say “I’m the type of person that-” so for me my goal by the end of this year is to become really good at yoga, so I’ll always remind myself that I’m the kind of person that does yoga all the time 💪 that way I’ll brainwash myself to go to yoga class more often and do it at home as well 😄 kinda dorky but hopefully by the end of 2016 I’ll have become a yoga mastaaaa!(sorta) What are your new year resolutions? 🙌🌍🚵🏄🍌🍎💜 #veganfood #veganlife #vegansofig #veganfoodporn #whatveganseat #veganfoodshare #smoothie #lychee #banana
