So I wanted to make a cutting board for my brother as a Christmas gift this year, and since becoming Ron Swanson is his aspiration in life, I thought  a cutting board from Ron’s favorite restaurant more than appropriate. 

It was also important that it was a functional cutting board. So I couldn't just laser etch a design and call it a day. I had to instead laser etch the design and then laser cut inlays to glue in the etched space. The board is about 12 x 18 inches and made up of four pieces of 12 x 3 maple and two 12 x 3 pieces of walnut as caps for the ends. The inlays are also walnut. 

I think it turned out pretty good and I hope you all like it as well!

So I have decided that I definitely needed another hood ornament. My obsession with Pokemon Go of course being the impetus :) And of course i had to represent my team... Team Mystic!

As always, modeled in Rhino, printed on my Flashforge, and hand painted. Although this time I added the extra complication of creating a mold and blue tinting some resin to create the transparent gem!

Alright, I finished my second Animal Crossing Amiibo base! 

My little real estate friends now have a place of business in Nook’s Homes. Modeled in Rhino, 3D printed on my Flashforge, and hand painted. Hope you all like it! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out anyway.

So it super sucks that Disney Infinity has been cancelled as I was hoping to make bases for all of the Disney Princesses eventually. With that in mind I’ve decided to spend my energy creating bases for my second favorite toy/video game, Nintendo’s Amiibo series! 

My first base is Re-tail, home of Reese and Cyrus, from the awesome Animal Crossing series. My plans are to create bases for the whole Animal Crossing series and then make bases for some of my other favorite characters like Wind Waker Link.

As usual I modeled in Rhino, 3D printed on my Flashforge, and hand painted it. I hope everyone likes it and that it’s a worthy successor for the Disney Infinity Bases.

As part of my new project of turning my car into a Mario Kart, um... kart, I thought a new shift knob was in order. And i also thought that nothing could be more appropriate than a super boost mushroom for the task! Granted, it might feel a little better on a manual transmission, but it still feels pretty good pretending when I feel the need for speed.

Modeled in Rhino, 3D printed, and hand painted. Also I had to embed an appropriately sized nut to thread it on the stick shift.

So I really liked my Mad Max hood ornament build, but what it really did was inspire me to create products for my favorite vehicular franchise: Mario Kart!

The first thing I HAD to make was a hood ornament that would give me the feeling of absolute power behind the wheel. With that mind, I present my Mario Kart Blue Shell hood ornament. And I have to admit that it feels really good driving around knowing I have a blue shell in reserve, you know, just in case some jerk cuts me off :)

As usual, I modeled it in Rhino, 3D printed it with my Flash Forge Creator, and hand painted it. I also used neodymium magnets to hold it down and Montana UV Varnish to hopefully keep it looking good.

I have been wanting to experiment with the idea of designing and creating functional molds with my 3D printer for a while now. And i recently had the epiphany that candles would be a great place to start as I could poor wax without melting the abs plastic and create finished pieces (Also I love a good candle!). It took a lot of trial and error but I think I mostly figured it out.

This Bob-omb votive sized candle is the end result of my work! I hope everyone likes it.

I’ve been toying with the idea of making a hood ornament for awhile now, but Mad Max Fury Road finally gave me the perfect inspiration.

Modeled in Rhino, 3D printed, and hand painted. I also incorporated four spots for embedded neodymium magnets to hold it to the hood.

Works and looks great if I do say so myself.

It’s been way too long since I finished an Infinity Base. I got hung up on the design of Jasmine’s, but when Mulan came out I knew exactly what to do. So with that, I present the latest in my series of Disney Infinity character bases: Mulan!

Puchase Info and Thank you

A lot of people have recently asked if I have an Etsy shop or if any of my designs purchasable, especially my Mario Cube 3DS game case. I’ve answered some of these questions privately but I wanted to take a moment and address all of my followers. And unfortunately, for now, the answer is no. I do most of my projects by designing, 3D printing , and hand painting them. This is I very time intensive process. As such it would be extremely expensive to sell any of them. 

I am always open to extremely generous offers of course, but I want to be reasonable about it and not have an Etsy page with hundred dollar plastic toys that if they were mass manufactured would only cost like ten bucks.

With that being said, I am working on possibly creating molds or otherwise refining my methods to make them more affordable. However progress on this is slow and I don’t have a specific time frame for anything.I will definitely update everyone when and if this changes. 

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone who has liked or reblogged any of my work! I have had a lot of great responses recently and a lot of new followers and I super appreciate it! I hope I can continue to delight you all with any of my future creations :)

For this project I decided to stretch my organic modeling skills by making a small desktop figurine of my favorite Pokemon, Chespin! He is only about 2 and half inches tall so the printing and the painting were a pain, but he looks great on my desk waving to me everyday!

This project was at the request of my girlfriend who wanted a way to vent here Minion hate. She specifically asked for some kind of interactive Minion based Nerf gun target and this was my response. The idea being that this particular Minion is dutifully holding a target above his head for his master with an improvised wood structure and a headband. However if the target is struck, instead of the target falling of his head, his head itself falls off revealing his peanut-sized brain.

 I will point out that I do not personally share her hostility and thus made the target at least cute and fun. I hope everyone likes it, and also that no one is offended.

So I needed a game case for my growing 3DS library and instead of buying one I decided to make my own. I figured nothing was more appropriate than a Mario cube for that purpose. With that in mind, I modeled, printed, and painted what I think is a pretty cool case. Hope ya’ll like it too.

So my girlfriend made me play my first Pokemon game (Pokemon Y) and obviously I loved it. As a result I’ve been looking for a Pokemon project to tackle. I also wanted to stretch my legs with some more organic modeling than I’m used to.

I came up with the idea of trophy mounted Pokemon fridge magnets and Skiddo seemed like the perfect subject for the first one. Hopefully this will be the first in a series of these as i find looking at it on my fridge rather funny. Anyways, hopefully you all like it as much as I do.
