Holy shit.... Never Again Action (the group who started #JewsAgainstICE) had an ICE detention truck drive through them while they were shutting down Wayne Detention Center in Rhode Island this evening (August 14th).

Like they were holding the line across the entry gate and refusing to let night shift guards in and a massive truck just, fucking, drove up to them then slowed as the protestors got up from where they were sitting, alarmed, then the truck accelerated into people.

It doesn't seem like there are any serious injuries. The people who were around the truck after it stopped accelerating into people were pepper sprayed.

tbh one of my favorite comics with Spidey is one where Peter gets fed up with superheroing and hiding his identity because of all the negative reviews the Daily Bugle posts about him. so he goes to Jonah and says that he’ll reveal himself the next day in front of the whole public, in return for an honest interview where Spidey reveals his side of the story, the True Story of Spider-Man

so Jonah, being Jonah, publishes this in the paper. “TOMORROW WE REVEAL WHO THE WALL-CRAWLING MENACE REALLY IS!”

and when Peter shows up at the meeting place where he promised to reveal himself….

… he’s not alone.

when Peter shows up, he 100% intended to reveal himself. but then a bunch of civilians, also dressed as Spidey, show up. So many that, when Peter DOES reveal himself, Jonah doesn’t believe it and thinks he’s joking. No one can tell who the real Spider-Man is.

Spidey was gonna reveal his identity and all of New York decided, of their own accord, to protect him the way he’s always protecting them

it’s just one of my fave issues because it just…. shows without any uncertainty just how much New York loves their Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

you know what scene really sticks out for me from ‘far from home’, is the bathroom scene while they’re on the airplane. peter goes to the bathroom, not expecting to see mj waiting outside; and as soon as he sees her, he’s a bit taken aback and closes the door. i mean, peter parker is out here cleaning the bathroom for mj, what kind of boy does that? for me, it was definitely one of the highlights but this scene really meant a lot to me. yes, it was one of the humorous scenes for sure, but i was sitting there, with my hand on my heart; thinking that this was the best thing i’ve seen in a long time. i just loved that scene so much, i will never forget it. peter parker is something special, hands down x
