keiraholburn:
It was actually a bit of a relief when Nick said he’d need her help. She felt bad about leaving him to do the entire project and being the type that usually took on a leading role, it was a bit disquieting not knowing what to do. It was not a common position she stood in. She offered up a responding smile and shook her head, quickly dispelling any notions that she would not be in the mood to help out the man. “God no, just tell me where you need me and what to do and I’ll be more than happy to help.” She assured him as she stepped closer to the piece he was holding and grabbing onto the edge to keep it up right and steady. She turned so that she could still look to Nick, to await his next instructions and make sure she was doing what he needed her to.
“Like this? Is that good?” She asked. She wanted to make sure she was doing it right so as not to cause any possibly accidents. She was trying to help Nick, not hinder him. Not that it was a particularly heavy piece now that she had a grip on it and feel for it’s weight but it was still big enough that she had to make sure her hold was tight so as not to move around too much as he began to place the screws is. He seemed to be truly interested her reason for buying the new desk which Keira appreciated. She hoped people would see the actual practicality in such a big piece of furniture and that the two of them were not going through all this trouble just so she could be flashy and show off.
A gracious smile curved the corners of her mouth. “Thank you,” She glanced around the office at the filing cabinet and mounted shelves that she’d already had placed in when she had first moved. At his suggestion, Keira looked around and began to imagine where she could place a small planters of flowers or perhaps a fern. There was plenty of natural light in there for a plant, that was sure. “You know, I think I might just take your advice on that. I think a plant will make this room much nicer. Thank you.” She glanced down at him with an endearing expression.
A small chuckle escaped her as Nick mentioned falling asleep at work. It always made her feel better to know she wasn’t the only one guilty of that. Of course she tried her best not to. “It appears that way, doesn’t it? We’ll have to try and change that. Maybe I can convince your boss to let you out more and we can have lunch together. Get us both out and about so we’re not falling asleep at our desks.” She watched him as he screwed several of the pieces together. She couldn’t quite see the desk coming together yet but Nick seemed to know what he was doing so she trusted him. She took direction easily, letting him read the instructions and just handing him the tools he needed or holding whatever he needed holding. She could already tell that had she try and done this one her own, she would have definitely messed up or given up. She once again thought about how grateful she was to Nick for coming by and doing this for her.
Nicholas thought for a moment they can do a good team. Not only because the project they were building, they have an interest in common: science. That is something what Nick appreciates a lot and also is not easy to find. He felt glad to now Keira in the actual circumstances. “Okay then. I count with you. I like this kind of projects but after a time I realized you can’t do all alone, and also is funnier.” He smiled to her, being thankful to have other thing to do: in the past weeks he only was thinking in his personal projects and he was returning to be isolated. Keira just pushed Nick to go out see the world and know more people.
“Yes, thank you.” Nick knew the piece of wood was heavy but Keira showed she can handle. “How did you manage bring this? Ikea service? Or a cab?” He asked while he was putting the screws in the place. He thought the task would be less hard but then he noticed because the wood was heavy he needed to do more force than he thought in the beginning. That was no problem for Nick: maybe he seems a little thin but he was used to this kind of work in the lab assembling machinery, his favorite part.
Suddenly he began to sweat even with the cold, something he was not prepared: the physical effort. Nick tried to not feel uncomfortable and focused in the conversation: “I am an organized person, maybe a little freak. You would ask to Nate and he will talk wonderful things about me...” He chuckled and finished the screws from the lower part. Then he went to put the middle screws. “Please, hold in the middle, maybe you will need to use your legs as support.” Nick put the first screw and continued talking. “Being organized gave me some sense of space, for that about the plant and the couch, but also has to have your style.”
Then when Keira talked about work, he felt really ashamed: he didn’t want she talks with Mr. Spencer! He was happy working extra time. But Nick only could be red. “We can do lunch in the normal schedule.” He managed to answer. Social situations, he always was feeling weird. “I expect Mr. Spencer feel happy to have me there. I knew was no easy decision to bring somebody foreign to manage the entire lab. I am happy on VAST.” He said in an apologetic way: he talked about work only as a chat, not as a complaint, he was happy working in his lab.
Good. Thank you, but I will be fine.

Are you sure? I mean... I am pretty sure you are strong and all, but even when we talk so little, I am here to help... you know...
rubychap:
That’s understandable.Oh wow, well I hope that gets fixed soon. I’m glad to see you back. I’m not horrible.

Yes, I could fixed. Not horrible... that is not fine. Something can I help you?
@nicholas-simmons Wow… you look pretty amazing in every single costume.
Thank you! How have you been, Nick? I haven’t seen you around recently.
I know... Working. I know this sounds as an excuse but the project what I am managing absorbs my energy and I even I have to handle a little power problem at home. No light, no internet. But everything is fine. How are you?
I had an idea for a halloween costume but then this little friend appeared and I couldn’t avoid to buy it. Between discover my new BB-8 and my own robot project I am not online so much. Somebody wants to tell me what happened?
Found out what has been causing my headaches and why I’ve been getting sick so much, my landlords just informed me that the building I live in has a mold infestation. Which can take weeks, or even over a month to get it all cleared out. They have to do a deep clean, and they’re tearing out the old cupboards and replacing them all, as well as new flooring. I really don’t know how long that could take. At least they are offering to pay for my stay at a hotel if I wish, though most hotels don’t allow pets. So I’m really not sure what to do at the moment.
So sorry for all what you are happening. The most important thing is your health for sure. I can watch your dogs as you search an hotel. Or maybe we can search an hotel together if you want.
Just a little throw back to many years of Halloween costumes. I got to be Jasmine this year which was fun.
Wow... you look pretty amazing in every single costume.
I was able to do some horseback riding when @greeneyedloftlin and I had to go over to Scotland. It’s been awhile since I’ve been on a horse. At least I didn’t fall off and on my face.
This is what I call being pro in halloween costumes. Because is a costume... right?

Taco Bell Sunday Night // Bailey & Nick
bailey--simmons:
“No worries… Can say I was a expert at them either. I only started dating until last year. Usually it was just flings.. and that’s what I swore by until I gave relationships a try.” Bailey sip at her water more. “Don’t give up… some girls like guys when they’re shy and dumb on that… sometimes. I guess, all I can offer is, if you really like a girl don’t be afraid to tell her or make your move. I almost never confessed to Nate because I was afraid to hear his reaction. I’m glad I did though.. I really am.”
Bailey lived for warm weather, it was what she grew up on. Even transitioning to cold weather, she despised how nippy the weather got in LA sometimes. “LA.. has amazing weather. You’ll have to come with me sometime when I take my dogs for a walk! Man.. you haven’t even been over to my apartment! I’ll give you a tour.. show you my pet piranhas. Though, they won’t be there long I’m moving them into my studio soon.” Finally her recording studio was coming all together she was even more stoked to get new clients.
“Oh.. there’s a mild sauce. You can try that.” Bailey cocked her head to the side, “I’m throwing in the towel soon.. no worries. You can take some of this home.. the rest I’ll take. I know some homeless people who live around my block.. well technically they’re not homeless but they can’t afford so much, especially having tons of kids. Pretty much living pay check to pay check, so I’ll give them any left overs. “First date? Well, I guess technically our first date was on New Years, that was also our first kiss. I had to DJ that night for a few hours and Nate agreed to meet me after I was done. We had a few drinks together, danced.. and we went back to the bar. It was about ten minutes from midnight and basically we were yelling in each others ears over the music. When finally midnight came, Nate kissed me. I was taken by surprised, I freaked I guess. When I asked him why he did it.. he said it was just the spur of the moment. I.. that honestly hurt my feelings. I snapped at him and stalked off… he ran after me into the elevator and then I confessed to him.”
Nicholas didn’t know exactly what to say. Did he give up? He was not sure that was the situation, but he was not also searching something. And everybody was insisting about that thing to have a couple. Maybe they were right? “In this moment nobody is in my life. Maybe they can see I am just afraid to be in a relationship...” Nicholas realized he was talking without think and in the middle of the subject the words revealed the truth. He can’t undone what he said, and the worst is... all what he said was something he didn’t want to admit. “I will have all your advices in his mind.” He didn’t want to make feel bad to Bailey, because was his problem. After what happened with Elena, is only his problem. “But what I can say is, is good to see one of the Simmons brothers happy and with a good girl.”
“Dogs! I just love the idea!” Nick talked with few persons in the site about pets, and he was considering have one, when he finally were settled in the town. “Oh don’t worry, I just arrived and is normal have work and life... But we can do it in the moment when you want. I like to roam for the city with my bike. Bike and dogs can be a good plan after all.” He smiled, and continued eating his burrito, Nick was wondering if he could eat more food, but he will see.
Nick took the mild souce and tasted his burrito with the red dressing. “This is good...” He said smiling. He was having a good time. Then Bailey began to tell the story. He tried to have a good picture about what happened with her and his brother. For Nick was part of a fairy tale, in the end Nate was his personal hero and this time he has the girl. “What? He dared to tell you that was the heat of the moment? That is rude!” Nate was more cool than Nick and he never dared to do something like that. “Then, you are the brave in the relationship... He is not honoring the last name.” Nick teased, of course Nate should do something right after all.
Hotel Room Door // The Simmons // Pre-elopement
drnate-simmons:
Nate merely shrugged when Nick brushed the topic off. Truthfully, he wanted to dig into his brother’s secrets but Nate decided not to. Especially not now when they’re just mending their relationship. “If I ever lose the accent, smack me in the face so I will get it back,” Nate feigned a serious tone. His eyes went steely blue before it twinkled again, grinning at his own joke. “But seriously, I don’t think I’ll lose it. It’s like gum stuck on hair ya know? You can’t rid of it.” Winking at Nick, Nate nodded. “Your secret is safe with me.”
“Oh come on. I can spare a few hours helping you. Don’t make me sound like a badass superstar in LA. I’m not. And give you some time? Come on. Anyone can win with more time. You’re just cheating with that big brain of yours.” Nate gave Nick a derisive expression before swigging some more of his beer. “Christmas was chaotic.. as usual,” Nate concluded, chuckling to himself. “Mom practically interrogated Bailey and Aunt Marge as well but they liked her so they couldn’t give me an earful.” This time he shrugged with a smirk carved onto his lips. “I mean can you imagine those two trying to teach her about pudding and poppers? Luckily Bailey was fun or the entire thing is a flop. And Aunt Marge thought it would be a good idea to start playing one of those stupid Christmas Victorian games.” His chuckle grew louder. “I do remember one Christmas eons ago when I blew that ball of wool into your face.”
He pretended to muse at Nick’s comment for a moment before shaking his head. “If you don’t wanna clean, I do have a contact of a nice cleaning lady ya know,” he offered, pointing the mouth of his beet bottle to Nick. “You lazy bugger,” he added lightly shoving Nick’s shoulder. “I know I don’t say this often enough but… I’m just glad to have you here with me, Nick.” He gave his brother a small wistful smile – which was rare. “It’s been too long.” With that, Nate leaned forward, wrapping his arms around Nick, pulling him into a hug.
Nick will tell to Nate what happened. He knew he needed to tell to his brother, his best friend, what happened with the woman he considered for a long time his love. But that was not the moment to do it, not only because he just arrived to LA and he was not sure about how really was the relationship with his brother. It was more he was not ready to talk about something what was so painful for him. He still misses Elena even when she was only a shadow from the past. “Gum on the hair?” Nick felt really relieved they could still do silly jokes, in the end is all what he needed in this moment. “You can’t be more gross. Oh wait! You can! Don’t listen to me!” He finished laughing loud as he remembered he did only with Nate.
“Don’t deny it. Since I am in the site, everybody talks about you... what makes me really happy. I like to see how people here just appreciate you.” Saying the words Nick could understand why Nate was so happy in LA, and even why he didn’t want to London: he get what he was searching. She took a sip of his beer thinking his mother. “Bailey just should have a great sense of humor if she found all funny. You know how is the family.” Nate would do whatever he wants to do with Bailey, with or without family’s support. Then Nicholas knew exactly what to tell: “I am happy to see you with her. You count with me.” He tried to say always the proper and exact words, he expected he could say exactly what Nate needed to listen.
Nicholas was close to answer all what Nate was telling, including he’d accept the help from the lady cleaner and all, when things were emotional. Feel the hug from his brother, even when he was smaller, was something what made him Nicholas feel as a child, again, protected for his big bro. “I am glad to be here too. Was a good decision.” He said loud, convincing himself family was first, and he has his family close. “Good, we can continue the conversation in the apartment then. And after we can go to eat, your choice: I still don’t know the city.” He knew this will be the first of many plans the siblings will do.
Closed.
Taco Bell Sunday Night // Bailey & Nick
bailey--simmons:
She was happy to take the burrito, unpeeled it from its wrapper. Taking a packet of the hot sauce and dosing the red sauce all over it. Bailey flipped over the empty packet, reading the words printed on it. Almost every sauce packet had some saying sprawled on it. Which the brunette always enjoyed reading different ones. Shoulders shrugged, “Not every family.” Though, she was quick to take a large bite out of the burrito. “… Music wasn’t always the happiness I longed for… a lot of the happiness now is because of Nate. Before.. I never had good chances with relationships.. it seemed every one ended up leaving. One guy… he was an actor.. said he was too busy to handle a relationship. Another.. math professor, felt I was too immature for my age. This one.. who I really thought could be him… just left out of nowhere, said it wasn’t for him. So after that I pretty much gave up. That’s when Nate came into the picture, he helped me get over it.”
“I fell in love with the city the second I got off the plane… and the food here. I mean.. the town I lived in. Smelled like oil and fish.. which wasn’t much different from here. There was more… more of everything. I love it.. I didn’t have anyone rambling Malaysian in my ear but speaking English… or… Italian, Spanish, french.. so many different languages, different faces Oh.. and the clubs, the music industry is wild here. It was like.. living on cloud nine and it still is in a way.” Bailey fantasized about living in LA since she was little, only once her parents spoke of the city, just as they passed through it.
Bailey finished off the burrito, placing the wrapper next to her others. Now she was starting to get full, but dessert was still on the menu. Reaching for the cinnabon delights popping one of the round donut shapes into her mouth. Pointing towards the rest of them, “You gotta try ‘em… they’re awesome.” She reached forward grabbing her drink, sucking down water to wash down the food.
Nicholas was happy the conversation changed in that moment, but was better when Bailey talked about his brother. In Nick’s eyes, Nate is his personal hero. And nothing can make the younger sibling happier than find he is loved. He could see how Bailey really was in love. “For what are you saying...You really tried!” He laughed. “I am not expert in relationships because I had only a few. I am not into date or other... I am just... a shy and dumb on that.” He continued eating his burrito. “I am happy. Not only for him, for you too. Everybody deserves happiness. And now you have a good relationship and you do what you like.” Yes, that was a good definition of happiness to Nick.
He shared her enthusiasm for LA. In the time he had in the city, he realized how amazing was everything, and with the days he felt more comfortable, having in count is Nicholas, the person who always lose. “I am so in love with the weather. So different and warm. Yes, London has a lot of things, but I don’t miss the weather.” Then Nick tried to choose a sauce. He wanted spicy but not so spicy. “What is the best?” He asked to Bailey. “I want something but I don’t want not feel my tongue.” He sighed.
Nicholas was only in the half of the burrito. She was eating faster than him. “l’ll try... but I am not sure if I’d be capable: I don’t eat a lot and I am in the half of my burrito.” He took a look of what they have in front of them, the entire table. How somebody was capable to eat everything? Then he thought the best is continuing talking and maybe later he would have space in his stomach to eat something more. “I’d love to know how was the first date with Nate, if I am not an indiscrete person.” He smiled. “I like to listen stories and I believe that is a good one.”
Ruby & Nick

Don’t worry, I won’t bite. I like to think I’m a pretty friendly person, so hopefully you will warm up to me.
Oh no, I don’t have doubts about it. You were until the moment so nice with me, thank you very much.
The Beach // @fraye-mathis & Nicholas // Headcanon // Flashback
Fraye: The longer she lasted on the show the more intense the routines became and people started to focus on winning. Some days she thought she could but other days, whilst watching others rehearse, she felt she could never win. Thankfully Nick had agreed to meet her to go down to her spot on the beach and just lay there with her to talk - Jax came as well. Placing the blanket on the ground for them to sit on she let go of the leash to let the pup go down to the water. His training was getting better and he would follow simple commands. "Thanks for coming." She smiled at Nick sitting down. "I know it was short notice, and if you were at the lab I would hate to pull you away from your work."
Nick: Nick really appreciated the friendship what he has with Fraye. She was one of the first persons to talk with him when he entered to the site, but also she pushed to go out more of his shell. He discovered a new entire world seeing her dancing and he knew he can trust on her. Also Nick has still the gift what he brought from Germany and he expected she liked it, the buy was a little blind because he believed they don't know well each other but for that was time. He arrived to the beach in his bike, enjoying the moment, the big pleasure to be in LA. "Hello Jax!" Nick really liked the dog. "Don't worry Fraye, I needed fresh air, really." He let the bicycle close and sat with her.

Fraye moved aside for Nick to come in. Though she wasn’t quite up for company yet. She felt bad for standing him up. She felt herself close in and wanted to crawl back into her bed. “I’m still really sorry.” Her voice was still meek and even though he mentioned food she wasn’t quite sure if she had any appetite for anything. He was being really sweet and she wished she could tell him what exactly was wrong. How she felt like she was empty on the inside and she felt unwanted and unloved. But those were things you don’t tell people.
Silently Fraye moved to the couch and sat in the corner pulling her legs to her chest. She watched Nick kick of his shoes. “How was the wedding?” She could only imagine how beautiful it was. She only hoped Bailey and Nate wouldn’t be mad at her for missing it. She still had a wedding present she would have to give them at some point. Then it dawned on her that she was supposed to meet Nick’s parents. Well part of her wanted to meet them. “Shit, I hope you’re parents don’t think poorly of me.” She started to fidget with the hem of her shirt.
She watched at Nick and Jackson played for a little. She was sure the puppy loved the attention and it made her feel even worse about herself. She was a horrible pet owner. She sighed quietly and waited until both were done playing. “You didn’t have to bring him anything. He’s already spoiled.” Jackson bolted over to her side and crawled onto the couch to lay be her side. One hand reached over to scratch behind his ear.
“You need to stop to apologize. At least not now and less with me.” Nicholas told to Fraye in the sweetest way he could do it. Everybody has right to have a crisis, to be inside a crisis. And he was sure that is exactly what is happening to Fraye. He felt terrible uncomfortable, but with his own self. He wanted to know exactly what to tell to Fraye to make her feel better, but for do that, he would need to know exaclty what was happening and he was uncapable to ask. So, he limited to enter and do his best, what in his mind is not much but he needed to try.
Nick imagined Fraye wouldn’t want to talk but in the moment when she began to ask about the wedding he thought maybe was a good idea, she can keep distracted her mind. “Incredible.” He said with a smile, then he sat in the couch close to her. “Everything was like a dream, I never saw my brother so happy and excited, more than usual!” He chuckled. “And Bailey... so beautiful. I will show you the photos soon.” Then he thought Fraye missed his speech. He’d like she listened but at the same time he thought the best was not tell her, she was feeling really bad for not go. “My parents were enough busy with the newlyweds, don’t worry, you will have the opportunity to meet them.”
Then he stood and returned with Jackson. “He deserves it.” Nick walked to the kitchen and took the cookies he bought for the dog. It was something simple but he was always happy to do that kind of things. Then he sat again in his spot. He saw Fraye for a moment, feeling his heart broke at the same time she was broken too. Finally he decided and took enough courage to make what he thought in the beginning. He passed his arm for her shoulders and softly pulled on his chest. He was sure the world wouldn’t have end as she was thinking, but he wanted to express it, again, do something. With Nicholas’ personality, that was more than he was used to do.
