I wish I could slow you down my baby.
They weren’t kidding when they said Motherhood was hard, frustrating, lonely and sometimes disgusting but absolutely always ALWAYS loving. I’m always loved. Even the days that are so hard I want to pluck every eyebrow hair one by one, I know i’m loved to the ends of the Earth. i’m your first love.
We don’t talk a lot about that resentment towards the babies father, even the ones who aren’t absent, we still resent you some days. We resent you because you don’t feel what we feel everyday, but we know you’re stressed too. We resent every time you’re sleeping but we aren’t, the moms who stay home we resent you for having a more social life, we resent you for being more “free” and not dealing with the tantrums all day, the teething, the potty training, the fighting to finish every meal on the table. we resent you because here we are cooking dinner once again but we are eating last and our plates cold or we are sharing it with a little one while you enjoyed a hot meal.
To the Working moms who wanna be home who feel like they don’t get a break either but feel like they’re still pulling the weight of everyone in the house to just still get up everyday and take care of everyone and keep going everyday, Hugs mama❤️
Nobody talked about the resentment. The depression, there’s a difference between PPD and just a mom who’s sad 🤷🏽♀️ sad because, ahhh my feet are still swollen, my boobs are sagging, my closet is still maternity clothes, all my friends don’t call anymore. I know mama, i’m sad too. Keep rising. What about the disgusting part of motherhood, your toddler keeps taking a shit on the floor and you have no idea why, or your PP care is just messy and you’re struggling. your kid won’t stop taking off their diaper. I hear you mama. i’m not going through it, but someone out there is just breathe. The part about motherhood where you’re endlessly pumping and trying to keep up with your baby in between, your boobs are leaking, everything hurts, everything is a mess. I understand mama. To the mama who had a traumatic vaginal birth, to the mama who had a c-section, I Hear you mama. To the mama who had a long labor or easy labor, I hear you. As hard as all of this is we wouldn’t trade it. We have days where we may hate it, but above all. we love being a momma but it’s okay to resent it sometimes. Please keep up with your mental health mama, self care, and most importantly BREATHE. ❤️
