Red Beholder Update

Previously

Hmmm. Comparing the 2 pictures I'm torn as to which looks better. Maybe some whitish highlights will be the answer.

Beholder Update- Survey

The first [previous] post was the start from 2 weeks ago, this is their current state. Only showing 2 of the eye-stalk sets.

Yellow/purple has [white] bone color on eye-stalks as I didn't like how I'd added the purple and my yellow is too thin to cover purple without a dozen layers.

I'm thinking about making the eye-stalk stripes a different green so they stand out more but it's tedious to work all those angles so maybe not.

Do I change the green stripes?

No

Yes, change light green to darker green

Yes, brighter green or yellow-green

Reaper Bones Beholders

Yellow will be mostly purple when finished.

Red will be sorta lava like.

I use small binder clips to hold the swappable eye-stalks. The drawer holds them between sessions. Used sticky-tack to hold the eye piece on an extra base so it doesn't get lost.

I haven't decided if I'll paint the spell effects or not.

Others will be Ice blue and Green.

Copper Dragon

Two things:

1. My little photo booth is maxed out by this mini. 😂

2. I used a glossy coat on this 2 weeks ago but it's still tacky. I tried to put it on as thin as possible. I tried a different brand in the past with the same result- tacky for 5+ years. 😮‍💨

Does anyone have a tip that'll help?

I used the Asiatic Black Bear as inspiration; used different colors to help with HP tracking.

Pillar and Alter of Evil

Here is my death pillar redo before and after. Inspired by @squirmydads-creations , thank you!

It inspired the alter color theme that I'd been stuck on.

So happy with both results.

I have had a pile of dungeon decor that came from the Dungeon Saga game and the Reaperminis Bones 2012 kickstarter that has seen lots of use but no paint until this last week.

Going to have to redo my pillar, mine looks sad in comparison. 😩

Up from the depths of the project's box, it's Kyra and Lavarath! I'm not sure which is which, this is a Reaper Bones model from the 2012 kickstarter that I had missed when I was looking for dragons to paint last year. It pays to clean up the Project's box, I keep finding old things that I have forgotten about. I tried to do a little bit of freehand painting on the banner, did not work out very well, so I switched over to an extra fine point Sharpie marker to draw my crescent moon and stars.
