Facts over feelings, or out of my house (in matters of discourse)
May also add the plushie commision page soon so i can properly price things, tentatively $14/hr of working on it since i have a machine it shouldn't take too long dependent on the project
To everyone working on a sewing project right now:
If you realize you messed something up, and your immediate response is, "I won't undo that. No one will notice..."
The RIGHT NOW is the ideal time to take a little break. Turn off the iron. Turn off the sewing machine. Go outside. Eat a piece of toast. Drink some water. Look at a cat. Walk away for like ten minutes.
Don't talk yourself into ignoring something you'll regret ignoring just because you have momentum going.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go un-sew all this lace that I put on upside-down.
Honestly that goes for knitting/crocheting too. That day I realized I was good at knitting is the day I figured out to fix a mistake in lacework several rows down without frogging anything
And sometimes you frog half of your first sweater because you've learned that you Did It Wrong in several different ways, but *now* you're *fast enough* at hooking that doing it over again just makes sense.

Google is saying that any music uploaded to YouTube is legally theirs to use in AI training.

“A new court filing claims that when indie artists upload music to YouTube, they grant a "broad license" that covers the AI initiatives of parent company Google.”
“Google says in a new court filing that YouTube’s terms of service grant a “broad license” for artificial intelligence models to be trained on music uploaded directly to the platform.”
“This argument came in Google’s Monday (June 8) motion to dismiss copyright infringement litigation filed earlier this year by a group of independent artists, songwriters and producers.
The lawsuit claims that Lyria 3, the AI music model launched by Google in February, was trained on songs ripped from YouTube without compensating artists.”
“The case is among dozens that have accused AI companies of illegally training their models on copyrighted sound, text and images in recent years.
In most of these lawsuits — including ones brought by the major record labels against AI music generators Suno and Udio — tech companies have argued that the so-called fair use principle of copyright law allows them to create transformative works without licensing the training data.”
Instead of making a fair use argument, Google is saying “they actually do have a license to train AI with the songs uploaded to YouTube by these indie artists.”
Google says there’s no evidence for Google using their specific works, but also that they have the right to use
the motion cites a clause in YouTube’s terms of service that states, “By providing content to the service, you grant to YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license to use that content (including to reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works, display and perform it) in connection with the service and YouTube’s (and its successors’ and affiliates’) business.”
“if Google’s argument is accepted by the court, the company would be legally permitted to train AI models on and otherwise utilize that content for “derivative works.” However,
the situation might be different for music distributed through YouTube pursuant to licensing agreements with labels and publishers.”
Music usually has licensing that protects them from copyright issues
There are a lot of fake Wigglypaint sites and apps and a lot of them have stolen art in their galleries!
The program is originally from itch.io. The owners of these fake sites stole work from the artists who posted their wigglypaint drawings on itch.io so they could have something in their community galleries to lure people into thinking they were legit.
I've been talking to artists whose work was stolen here on tumblr and on instagram and everywhere else and absolutely no one whose art was taken from itch ever gave permission for their art to be used by any of these fake sites.
Wigglypaint.com: Art theft.
Jigglypaint app / Jigglypaint.com: Art theft.
Wiggly-paint.com: Art theft.
Wigglypaint.run: Art theft.
Wigglypaint.fun: Art theft.
Wigglypaint.online: Art theft.
And so on.
Even Wigglypaint.net, which doesn't steal art directly, uses AI-generated images to advertise their subscription plan ($49usd/year) while blocking comments that mention the username of the original creator of Wigglypaint in the social area.
All these sites are trying to get artist's money for a free art program.
Wigglypaint is always free on itch.io from the original creator, or you can use free 16-color modded versions like WigglyPaintPlus. (Or mod the program yourself! You don't even need to know how to code.)
But please, please don't give money to art thieves, AI bros and scammers.
The writeup about all of these sites can be found here.
If you think you might be an affected artist you can search for your itch.io display name in this spreadsheet. It may load slowly, there are more than 2000 instances of art theft in there.
Is there anything we can do to stop the verification on operating systems before it's too late?
⭐️🇺🇸YES ABSOLUTELY! 🇺🇸⭐️
The three P's are very important! Politicians (Call them), Petitions, and Protesting! Even after the law has passed.
People in California are fighting back against theirs through litigation! IT IS WORKING! They are going through the legal process to get the law repealed! People who live in Illinois, YOU NEED TO FIGHT BACK AND DO THE SAME!
I dont think these dumb politicians realize that it would be nearly impossible to age gate a whole operating system. Especially with things like linux that could just bypass the age gate.
Also, most manufacturers wouldn't even have the capacity to do that. It is very difficult and costly, I hear.
You could also get a VPN to bypass the age gate if it happens! Make sure it's legitimate if you are gonna go that route!
To you all thinking, this will only affect people in that state like Illinois or California. IT WILL NOT! THIS WILL AFFECT YOU ALL! Manufacturers RARELY ever put things in place for a specific group of people. They have an all at once treatment. That means users outside of these states will be affected if put into place!
🇺🇸⭐️FIGHT BACK PEOPLE! YOU BACK THE DIFFERENT ON THESE LAWS! PUSH BACK AGAINST THESE CORRUPT POLITICIANS!⭐️🇺🇸
Sources are beginning to say that Discord's age verification announcements are more likely to be in effect and introduced throughout June. LINK: https://tuta.com/blog/discord-plans-age-verification-globally
Popular chat platform Discord plans to roll out age checks globally starting in or after June 2026, opting people into teens settings by def
* Everyone will be set to a "minor" status until you prove you are an adult with age verification.
* You will still be able to use discord, but certain settings and access you have to certain channels and servers will not be able to be used until you verify.
* This is global. It is not just for one country.
* Discord is still doing this despite the previous breach of over 70,000 Discord Account's IDs being made public.
* There is not one specific law or country pressuring Discord to do this. They are doing this on their own accord, most likely taking into account global trends towards Age Verification.
If possible, I'll be trying to maintain AU progression and interaction as normally as I can for those in the SwilTaett Server, especially since this is happening in SwilTaett's Anniversary Month, with this already causing multiple issues with creating a 3rd Anniversary gift.
Possible solutions and workarounds are already in circulation, although I don't have much knowledge about how these work.

If possible, avoid giving biometric data such as IDs/Passports and Facial Scans due to the history of previous data breaches, and cancelling services like Discord Nitro could be a way to signal disagreement with this new policy.
