JULY 5, 2026-The KIDS Act passed the House. Make sure to call your Senators!!!
You can use the Senate switchboard once more. 202-224-3121
FaxZero lets you send free faxes to your senators with no subscription or sign-up.
Say: "PLEASE VOTE NO ON THE KIDS ACT AND ANYTHING REQUIRING BIOMETRICS, DIGITAL ID, OR AGE VERIFICATION!!!! Parental controls already exist. Why should I hand over my biometric data or government ID if a way to keep kids safe is already in existence? Why should I give up my privacy and freedom of speech? Digital ID and biometric data will destroy privacy and freedom of speech
KOSA UPDATE 7/10/26: THE SENATE RETURNS FROM BREAK SOON
I got this email from Fight For the Future and it is really helpful in communicating where we currently are in the fight against the KIDS Act and KOSA.
We should be using this time during the Senate's break to be calling, spreading the word, and doing everything we can to push back against these harmful bills. The return from break around July 15th, which is when Cruz said he wanted to consider the bills. So please, call while you can.

A tentative date came out this evening from Ben Brody with Punchbowl News. The Senate is eyeing July 29th as a possible markup date, but nothing is confirmed yet. Please! Call your Senators and Committee members.

The Senate is back in session today, 7/13/2026. I've been seeing a lot of people say a vote is today, but that's not true, the Senate is just back in session today and there's no vote scheduled yet in regards to the KIDS Act. I know Senator Cruz, leader of the committee who would take up the KIDS Act/KOSA, mentioned wanting to take Committee action around July 15th, but again, nothing has been scheduled.
Just wanna clear up any confusion because there's a lot of misinformation on some other platforms.
Now is when we must continue to call and be sure we're not spreading panic as well.

I was panicking about KOSA but then I saw this
And then rewatched schoolhouse rock
We still have hope! KOSA is a bill that if made into a law would go against our rights to our freedom online! Examples of what KOSA can do to us has been happening in places like Australia. Let’s continue to stand strong and fight against KOSA

6/30/26 KOSA Update
As I'm sure you know, the KIDS Act, which includes KOSA and other age-verification bills, passed the House and now moves onto the Senate. 267 representatives voted yes, 117 voted no, and 47 did not vote, with a decent number of Democrats voting no.
While this is bad news, the good news is that we pushed thousands of calls in opposition and there are still opportunities to stop these bills. Richard Blumenthal and some key sponsors of KOSA in the Senate DO NOT like the House versions of KOSA/the KIDS Act because they want the bill to include a duty-of-care provision. This duty of care provision has been widely contested, as the House of Representatives opposes it, while those in the Senate support it. While many are saying it's DOA (dead on arrival) in the Senate because of this, we must still call our Senators now to take advantage of this friction and ensure NO VERSION of these bills passes this year.
The Senate is currently out until July 15th, so please use the resources below to get ahead of these bills.
The bills passing the House are not the end, so continue to spread the word and call to oppose the KIDS Act/H.R. 7757!

6/29/26 KOSA UPDATE
Today, the US House is likely to vote on the KIDS Act, which includes KOSA and other age verification bills.
The vote is likely to be successful and pass the bill out of the House and move it into the Senate. IF THIS HAPPENS, WE CONTINUE TO CALL. THERE ARE MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO STOP THIS BILL IN THE SENATE AS IT WILL UNDERGO A SIMILAR PROCESS AS IT DID IN THE HOUSE. THAT MEANS ALL WILL NOT BE LOST.
If you haven't yet, call your senators, representatives, and House Leadership before today's vote (It will likely be this evening).

AGE VERIFICATION ALL-HANDS-ON-DECK MOMENT
BAD NEWS: The House GOP and Democratic members of the Energy and Commerce Committee have been working on a package of age-verification bills and have finally struck a deal (I believe some of these are the same bills in the KIDS Act which they had passed out of committee a few months ago). Theoretically, this means that the House of Representatives could bring this package up for a vote at any time, with some reporters saying as early as this week or next week.
If this package were to pass it would still face an uphill battle as the House version of KOSA doesn't not include a duty of care provision, which the Senate wants.
However, we need to do everything to can to stop this from passing now, so it doesn't advance any further.
We must call House Leadership, our representatives, and our senators to express our opposition and we need to spread the work. If we can make noise and create pressure over how unpopular age verification is, it makes passing bills like these less enticing.
(Note: this is different from whatever deal the Senate and the White House are trying to reach over AI and age-verification)

The leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee will unveil a bipartisan deal Monday on guardrails for protecting kids against online
Also noting that leaders in the push for age-verification don't like the House's version. So, if the House doesn't like the Senate version and the Senate doesn't like the House version, and no one likes Marsha Blackburn's AI package, that is a weakness/friction that can work in our favor, so PLEASE CALL TO OPPOSE:
AND PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD WHERE EVER YOU CAN!
MORE INFORMATION AND WHY YOU SHOULD BE CALLING
It looks like they're really trying to coalition-build around the KIDS Act, which isn't the best news. I believe friction still exists, but we must make our opposition known by calling this week and next week ahead of any possible vote!
(Edit: I believe this tweet is in referring to Kathy Castor, who isn't a Senator, but another member of the House who also sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee)
EVEN MORE INFORMATION PLEASE CALL!!!
A possible vote is next week and the House Speaker is supporting the package. Please call your representatives, Senators, and leadership now and through the weekend.
I know this is scary, I'm worried too, but we can't panic and give up. We must fight this at every step.
THESE BILLS COULD BE GETTING A VOTE AS EARLY AS TOMORROW CALL NOW, TOMORROW MORNING, AND BEYOND!

KOSA AND 18 OTHER "CHILD SAFETY" BILLS ARE ABOUT TO PASS THE HOUSE FLOOR. DON'T IGNORE THIS
in just a couple of days (or, sometime next week) americans might lose their freedom online, and even if not immediately because of the legal process, will be required by law to upload their id or face scan in order to use social media. this is a very basic description of what's going on, but digital identification isn't the only downside to this. censorship is eminent and these bills can extend past social media and be applied to anything the government would deem inappropriate for children.
you might think kosa is for protecting the kids, but it simply isn't. children will find a way to get online anyway, and may even turn to dangerous alternatives. most parents are dumb enough to just hand their children their id to use for whatever, so these bills may not even work as intended. responsibility should be in parents' hands, not the state.
"well, what can i do?"
well, my friend, a lot! don't stay quiet, and stop whining about it without making an effort!!
- look up and email / write to / call your representatives. maybe even ones from other states too to cover more ground. blow up their phones and don't stop. tell them how unconstitutional these bills are, and reinform them that they are being passed in a sneaky way. oppose kosa and the kids act!
- spread the word. many people are unaware of this, and the popular majority who are is in favor of these bills.
- go to these websites:

Spend 5 minutes. Make 5 calls. Make your voice heard.
- don't give up, and don't shut up about it!
Reminder to all my US followers CALL AND DEMAND YOUR representative to oppose KOSA/KIDS act and make sure to call consistently if you can! I just called and it was a super simple process that takes less then a minute!
5calls is a good resource!
5calls has been updated for KIDS package and KOSA’s movement in the House as of Jun 24 2026, please make a quick call to your rep!
If you get nervous on the phone, wait until it’s after hours (usually 5pm) and leave a message! (Depending on your time zone if you call their DC office before your 5pm theirs may have already passed too.)
If this is your first time hearing about these bills, I ask that you read the page on it at least. This package has stuff in it will hurt your privacy online and frankly offline too, and it will do nothing for child safety either. It will isolate children in dangerous situations further.
