Reading the phm book and it ofc goes more in depth on Grace's life. I just have to think about those poor kids. Imagine the cool teacher leaves the school and you're probably stuck with some bum long term substitute. Class was probably really fun and engaging and possibly the reason kids were even excited to go to school, and then suddenly Mr. Grace is just gone. The life must've been sucked out of their poor middle schooler souls. I like to think they probably ran the classroom to a degree after Grace is gone. "No, no, no, this is how Mr. Grace did it" and if the sub said anything about it they were mauled

Thinking of Grace on Erid sleeping in and jolting in a panic thinking “I’m late for school!” only to tell himself he’s a grown man and goes back to bed.

Only to jolt back up in panic, remembering he’s a teacher. But then again, belatedly remembers that he’s not on Earth anymore and doesn’t teach middle school now. He lies down once again.

Only to jump up one last time, remembering:

“I’M A TEACHER ON ERID!”
