I'm curious...what are your thoughts right now about Matt & Jonny and their friendship 👀

Gosh, what a question... It's hard to sum up everything that's happened.

In general, I feel (like always) that they're very "right person wrong time." They are pure soulmates, but a life together is probably not going to happen for them.

I do believe Matt fell madly in love with Simon, and that he's been right for him for a long time, but I'm not convinced he is anymore. A lot can be read from their body language, among other things. People change, and that's absolutely natural...

Also, the way some people talk about Simon and Matt baffles me a bit. Matt is an independent, grown man, not a princess, and he doesn't need someone protecting him 24/7. There's nothing even remotely cute about it.

I've never understood the nature of the affection between Matt and Jonathan, but it seems unwavering, unconditional, undeniable, joyful, deep, transformative even.

I think Jonny is the one person (now) who truly deserves Matt, because he has proven time and again that he really is there for him and supports him through thick and thin. Matt has mentioned this many times in different interviews - how Jonny was there for him on every level during FT. "Jonny was there for me physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually." (A.V. Club) Matt also said it straight to Jonny's face during the 92NY talk.

But Jonny is there for Matt outside of filming, too. Last time he proved this was during the Emmys, when Matt lost. According to an eyewitness, Jonny scooted forward in his chair, put his arms around Matt from behind and hugged him. In the selfie Matt posted (the last thing he has posted btw), Jonny holds him in a similar way. (Perhaps they took this photo during the break, when Simon was not there. There's a picture from the break where he isn't there.) Also, the beach selfie Matt posted a month ago is amazing.

The two last times they got together were magical, and so filled with love. And Jonny made Matt laugh in a primal way again, many times.

And they were very physically and openly affectionate with each other both times. Hugging, touching, kissing, holding hands...

I think Jonny has changed Matt in the relatively short time they've known each other. He's never been so soft, open, vulnerable and relaxed as with Jonny. This was especially clear during the 92NY talk, which should also be analyzed at length, but anyway. That was Matt completely out of his shell, the way we simply never see him. He was both purring like a cat and basking in Jonny's compliments, being extremely emotional and vulnerable, and showing overwhelming love for Jonny.

This is remarkable compared to how Matt usually behaves. He has those walls he puts up around himself, maybe to protect himself from something (but Jonny always breaks down those walls so easily.) Ron spoke about this at the Emmys. He said Matt has a great ability to keep things hidden, while Jonny's emotions are "out there."

Then there was the last podcast interview they did together (the very last interview they did) (The Awardist). Jonny talked about the incident when he was threatened after the HRC gala, and Matt got very distressed. He was breathing heavily and, like the interviewer said, wiping tears from his eyes. Matt said, "It's so upsetting to hear someone you love go through an experience like that, especially when they were there to support you…" to which Jonny said, "Yeah I know. Well I'd go anywhere to support you." and Matt replied, "Same!"

So they still have each other's backs, they would still do anything for each other. All this having to end now doesn't really make sense to me, it feels wrong. Are they supposed to continue being "friends" somehow? They're far beyond ordinary friends in the first place, so that wouldn't make sense either. Any thoughts?

Matt Bomer's 2024 looks, part 2

Time for Matt's 2024 event looks part 2! Part 1 can be found here.

Matt has treated us to such unbelievable, unprecedented beauty this June that I still haven't nearly recovered from it. This time it's almost impossible to choose a favourite look, or even a favourite picture for each look - so profoundly stunning are they.

This post is only about his physical looks/outfits, but there's a thing or two to be said about how lovely he has been, too, and he has really moved through this promo period with such seemingly effortless grace. I love him more than ever, and miss him terribly right now.

Anyway, on to the pictures. I've included the Getty Museum look, even though it's from a photo shoot and not an event, because it's just so gorgeous.

Matt in an all-white suit and perfect hair, strolling around a museum? Swoon!! I was completely dead already at this point, and it wasn't even June yet.

Matt in an all-burgundy suit, with soulful eyes and a button malfunction? Consider me weak!

Same day, still super cute

All-white suit again, completely drop-dead gorgeous. Also, I love this signature pose of his.

Then, just as I thought it couldn't get better, he wore all-black instead, including a silky cardigan with nothing underneath, and basically looked better than ever. Here I was really starting to lose it.

Looking proper in an all-navy suit, but still seductive as hell with the open buttons. Very sexy!

Then we get to the Milan Fashion Week and really dangerous waters. First up is the Santoni show, where Matt wore a mint green outfit that looked incredible. Even if the beard was still longish (I prefer it short), this look was astonishing to me. His hair was amazing too. In some pictures, these clothes leave rather little to the imagination (in the best way possible). He looks both sweet and ultra-sexy.

At the Prada show his beard was shorter, which is why my brain completely short-circuited from this point onwards. How he managed to look great in a blue leather shirt and leather shorts I do not know, but he looked so cute, and young.

At the third show the same day, Tod's, he - unbelievably - again looked better than ever before. Extremely dilfy in a good way, just simply jaw-dropping. Best look so far. Should have been impossible to top (no pun intended).

But then came the next day and the Armani look, which broke the internet. I'll choose this one as my favourite, and actually it's possibly my favourite look ever on Matt. Everything is perfect: his curly hair, even shorter beard/stubble, ARMS, and how his body looked when he walked in those white trousers. I don't think any man could ever be better looking than this.

Not much to say. Gorgeous hair. Shirt not so nice. He's beautiful.

Matt in a silk suit? Yes please.

Jonny may not have been physically present at the Emmy promo events, but boy was he there in spirit!

Matt: "It's a very sacred friendship for me. I love Jonathan."

Ron: "Matt and Jonny really loved each other. So they knew that they would protect each other."

Jonathan: "Matt Bomer is divine."

Jonathan: "We sat down, and it felt a sort of biblical moment actually, looking back."

Tim: "But don’t you think sometimes the love for another person can take on a godly quality?"

Now we can add: "Well, I mean, Matt Bomer is a supreme being, and incredibly lovely and great." by Jonny, to this list.

"Supreme being" means God, by the way.

So Matt is his hero, Superman, and God? Wow.

Hey, don’t you think that Matt keeps saying that the 70s is his favorite decade of FT is because that he and Jonny really enjoyed shooting together at the beach? Like every time I look at those bts fotos on the beach it’s just so Matt and Jonny coded 👀

I do think along those lines whenever Matt talks enthusiastically about filming the 70s scenes. And I've been meaning to make a compilation post of the beach pictures (possible not all of them, since they are endless), but I'll write down a few thoughts here first, and post the pictures some other time.

Matt has said multiple times that the 70s was his favourite decade to film. There are probably many other reasons for this too, apart from him having a great time on the beach and in the water with Jonny. He's also said several times that he really loved how Tim looked in the 70s. I honestly don't really get it, but for some reason he was absolutely crazy for this look. He's also said that he never wanted to see Jonny before Jonny was in full costume and make-up for each decade. I would do anything to see Matt's face when he saw 70s Tim for the first time…

A few of the beach pictures are promotional stills, and the rest are paparazzi photos. Ron has said that the pictures are not from deleted scenes, which is also clear if you look at them. Hawk is not present in those pictures whatsoever. Ron has said he was happy about the paparazzi pictures, because they were good publicity for Fellow Travelers at the time.

In any case, the pictures speak for themselves. I've never seen Matt look happy in the same way. Never. Which is why those pictures are some of my favourites of Matt and Jonny together. They're having so much fun, and especially Matt is sparkling with such happiness it's like his soul is bursting out of his eyes. I love Jonny for always bringing out the best in Matt!

It's kind of interesting to see a guy be sick of questions about his appearance instead of his accomplishments. Actresses get that shit constantly, and he handles it pretty much the same way. "Hahah yes I am very pretty, now can we talk about the intense multi-decade love story I was in, or perhaps the history of queer persecution?"
