hii I'm Nike, in this post I'll (try) to introduce myself and my writing WIP as quickly as possible. So let's start!

My music taste is pretty diverse so I'll just say my favourite solo artist is Phoebe Bridgers(with my fave song ever being I know the end) and my favourite band is Panic! at the disco

Enough about me, let's talk about my book.

Since I have billions of started stories in process(and unfortunately have a habit of quitting a lot of them) I'll tell you about my main project- The summer Dahlia disappeared.

It still isn't completely planned so I'll be posting updates every now and then. Our main character is Phoenix, an angry teen(maybe older if I change it) who, after the dissapearance of her girlfriend Dahlia, sets it her main mission to find her before its too late. But as her and her childhood friends try to find out what happened they notice paranormal activity and a feeling that someone is watching them.As I said it's still unplanned but I hope you enjoyed this little premise.Sooo that's kinda the end of this.

Introducing my characters through fun facts 3/5

Y'all already know the drill. Some are relevant to the plot, some aren't. Let's visit another character- Clementine Daniels:

she was named after her mom's biggest craving while being pregnant with her

she's very quiet and pretty squeamish

she falls asleep to thunder noises

insomnia has troubled her for the past year

her room is always organised

she was the last one to join the group, so she feels left out when they talk about their memories she isn't a part of

despite that, she rarely goes out to explore with the rest when they're searching for Dahlia

in school she's been made fun of for being 'soft'

she has a pet parrot and always felt close to animals

she has a habit of making herself practically invisible

The next part will take a bit longer, since I'm still brainstorming the story and the next two characters haven't been figured out as much. Byee💌

Introducing my characters through fun facts about them 2/5

I wanted to introduce my characters in a way different from the one i used last time(just bundling up info about them) so I thought I could show them to you through some facts about their life and personality. Some will be important to the story while some will be just for funsies.

So let me show you the girl who disappeared-Dahlia Gray:

she's the oldest of three

she's written in diaries since she was six

her favourite artist is MARINA

always got sick as a child, very poor immunity

Dahlia looks like an exact copy of her mother

her favourite place is the beach- more specifically the hidden rocky shore where nobody goes

believes in good luck/bad luck

her room is never organised

she has a mole next to her lip

she's only comfortable next to Phoenix and sometimes wonders where she would be if she didn't come into her life- the thinking alway ends in tears

she never told anyone about the hallucinations

when she was little she wanted to be a pirate

she bleached her hair by herself without her parents' knowledge, they had an argument but she continued doing it

her headphones are always set to max volume and she has some hearing problems from it

when she sets a goal she's very persistent on fulfilling it

her body is naturally warm

her dad has a smoking addiction, she promised to never be like him

her mom actually introduced her to Dahlia when she was little(the only thing she's thankful for involving her mother)

her favourite book is Wuthering heights

she's claustrophobic

more about my book + moodboard

this wip was originally meant to be an experiment. I noticed a repeating pattern in all of my other books, so before creating The summer Dahlia disappeared I had one thought in mind- to change elements that I have in all my other books.

SoI kept the paranormal plot because that's what I do and here's what I changed:

a wlw main couple who got together before book 1. My books always have a straight couple that only gets together in the end or a bit before that. In The summer Dahlia disappeared the whole plot happens because the mc's girlfriend disappeared. Plus my other couples are the cute kind since they're not the main plot and the characters just love each other, while in here it's a devotion and that lack of her love's presence drives the mc Phoenix into obsessing over getting her back, which could escalate into things bad for her and her friends

the main group consists of four girls. My friend pointed out my books have big group(7-11 mcs) and it's always mixed(boys and girls). I've seen posts pointing out there's plenty of books about groups of boys just having fun so I wanted to do the same thing with a girl group.

no religional themes. Idk why I'm so fascinated with religion but that interest bled into all of my work, whether as a ruthless god of the sun, a cult or just religional trauma. Following that this book doesn't have anything with religion and all the paranormal isn't connected to any god like in my other wips.

starting again

heyy to my five followers(sorry if I excluded someone or added someone). I just wanted to sya I'll delete all my posts(which I'm already doing) so I could start fresh with another priject of mine. I just noticed a bunch of plot holes in Whispers of the bones and had to take it back and polish it more.

I also kinda figured out how to post. Im not sure if I'll be posting this new project when I'm done planning it or if I'll brainstorm it and post every step but I'll decide that eventually.

Also have to mention that I won't be active for a week-ish because I have future-deciding tests coming up and need to study. Thanks for reading this amd I hope you'll like this new project coming upp

Nevermore unpopular(?) opinion

(also yeah this isn't what I normally post but just so you know every now and then I might post about my interests besides my writing)

My little Nevermore rant:

Okay some people might disagree but the last few episodes weren't the greatest. Don't get me wrong, the art is stunning and I'm always up for some Whiteraven but there needs to be more plot.

This has been an issue with me since I started reading, but it only bothered me more since we're almost at 200 episodes and deep into second season and still don't know much. I don't know how many seasons/episodes the webtoon is planned to have but so far we don't have answers to lots of questions. When I first started reading I was intrigued and pulled in by all the mystery they threw at us like 'Who are the Deans?', 'What are the creatures surrounding Nevermore?' and my favourite 'What does Theo have to do with all of it?'. When The Hunt plot came in I was expecting to get more answers, but instead got even more(as in what was actually the Vandernacht curse and why did the Stag give up afyer fighting Lenore). This doesn't mean I didn't enjoy those episodes with every ounce of my being. I'm only saying that- as I saw some of fastpass and if I'm not wrong the next two episodes will be about Will- we're not gonna get much answers and explanations. It dissapoints me a little. I get that Nevermore has lots of characters and we need to explore every single one and their relationships(and don't get me started on how the characters aren't equally shown or developed) but maybe more worldbuilding wouldn't ruin it. I'm sure rnf have stuff planned for future episodes, but I needed to say what I've been thinking and hope there's at least some people who agree with me
