❝ take me down to the river bend ❞
❝ Personable human. Okay then. ❞ .
A huff of exasperation escaped Draze’s mouth, golden eyes boring onto the blonde hanging up in the tree. Exactly what got his panties up in a twist? The redhead wasn’t sure, nor did he really care to figure out. He wasn’t taking a scroll around the forest just to be insulted by some random antisocial bastard in a tree of all places. He could have gone nearly anywhere else for the same effect. He might as well went to go find his father if he wanted to really feel the venom of someone’s biting words that badly.
He began to walk away from the other trainer, not seeing the point of sticking around, but didn’t get too far as his Dragonite traveling beside him thought it was a brilliant idea to try to make amends for ( whatever ) he did to annoy the other. Mizuchi flapped her small wings, sunset orange scales clashing with the deep greens and browns of the forest. Forever the friendly sort, the female dragon cooed and waved at the ace trainer once she got to be at eye level, giving his Shroomish a small pat on the top of his head.
❝ Mizu. ❞ the curt word brought his Pokemon’s attention back at him, standing and watching her, hands in his pockets. ❝ Come on. We should get going. ❞
The Dragonite looked over to the trainer and Shroomish, unsure if she should be leaving when they were at this state.
Honestly? A bad day isn’t particularly a good excuse for his behavior but it did compound on the fact that he wasn’t in the best of moods. To have finally thought he escaped the clutches of the mass populace only to have this random trainer and his dragonite wander by certainly didn’t make anything better. One could say it was almost even out of character for the blonde, but only if you hadn’t experienced his pissy attitude firsthand. Really today wasn’t his day.
It was the others dragonite that really caught his attention though. The dragon type didn’t seem to wish things to end on such an unfriendly note. A gentle pat on the head was all it took to win over Tatcher, the shroomish happily chirping at the other in response. It was just enough to coax out a small smile.
Eyeing the trainer, Az offered the smile up to the other’s pokemon. “Don’t stress it. Just a generally shitty day.”
That was, of course, the moment Miki decided to reenter the scene. The talonflame drifted over to perch on a branch nearby, cheerfully flapping her wings at the unknown pokemon. Seemed everyone was having a way more pleasant day then himself.

A slight breeze rustled the leaves above as the stream below babbled softly. It was a nice day out, quiet and secure in the heat of the day. The trainer himself laid on the ground nearby. Scattered about the various pokemon with whom he traveled, all in various states of sleep as the afternoon wore on. The only one seeming to enjoy the heat was Thatcher, the young shroomish splashing in the shallows off to the side.
“Silas don’t let him fall in.” It was a lazy, tired attempt at convincing the galvantula to take charge. Honestly? Not the most convincing either. The annoyed noise given in reply was example enough to the pokemon’s lack of interest. Everyone was to tired to wish the baby’s energy upon themselves.
With an exhausted groan he pushed himself up, Silas’s angry hiss following behind as the pokemon was nocked over into the blonde’s lap. A short whistle had Miki repositioning herself to face the grass type. Moving over a tree or two to perch nearby. At least one of his pokemon was cooperative.

What a great day to spend alone enjoying the quiet of nature. There was such a nice, beautiful stretch of woods far enough from civilization Az could find a great tree and hide away in peace. This was prime time for his pokemon to go about their business for a while, spend time with the locals. With soft light filtering through the canopy above one could almost believe there was nothing else to the world.
Except that dragon asshole who showed up only thirty minutes later.
The blonde glared at the other, holding Thatcher close to his chest as they peered down below. His careful perch was supposed to be tucked far enough away not to draw attention. Yet here the red headed menace was.
“Please leave a message at the beep and I am sure someone else will return it as soon as possible. When you have finished recording feel free to leave my presence and find a more personable human. Thanks and have a great day.” Thatcher, Arceus bless the shroomish, made a small noise as if to mimic a beep.

The waves crashed down in a series of mildly-tempered sessions, caressing the beige sand at the shoreline with bubbles of foam before they retreated quickly back towards the sea. With no regard for someone who may of been trying to take in the wintry atmosphere, the pattern continued for a few more moments before the current began to aggravate itself. The first few signs of a near-tempest storm began to brew and the wind picked up almost as if on cue, causing the once tamed seas to thrash around.
Near the edge of the walled structure that separated the beach from the piece of mainland towards the market square, an amber-haired female sat with her gaze glued to the inside of a sketchbook. Her slender digits moved gracefully along the page before her violet orbs turned upwards and glanced towards the brooding ocean. She took in the sight for a few moments before heaving a sigh and shutting her notepad, carefully tucking it into a large bag she’d brought along with her. Following the papers went a few ink pens and a mechanical pencil, an eraser soon trailing behind before she was sure everything was secured inside.
It was days like this that she felt that she could truly enjoy her time away from frivolous duties; the monochrome sky often discouraged people from visiting Slateport and as a result, she’d often get the day to spend how she wanted as opposed to dealing with immature trainers and other tedious tasks.
Of course, she did truly love her occupation as a Leader – it gave her a sense of pride and excitement, glad that she was able to show her hometown and the world what she had to offer. However, it had it’s moments where she really just wished she could of been left alone for the day. She’d counted her lucky stars this morning when the sun had become hidden away behind an array of broad clouds and had thought she’d get a few hours of sketching down by the ocean.
However, it seemed that the weather had other plans and she’d have to leave early for the day. As much as she loved gloomy weather, she didn’t want to be stuck in the midst of a winter storm.
Charlotte threw her bag over her shoulder, adjusted her windbreaker and headed back in the direction of the Gym. As she made her way up towards the cemented path, however, she noticed a figure zeroing in on her, obviously making their way towards the shore. She assumed they must of been unfamiliar with the area if they were heading right towards the eye of the storm where the weather would be the worst.
“I would suggest you heading back now,” she called to the someone who was hurrying up the sidewalk and near passing, her tone as apathetic as it could possibly be despite the winds beginning to rage. “The storm is just about to break and – “
.. And as if right on cue, the sky suddenly opened up and a flurry of raindrops fell onto the two idiotic people who had decided to take in the scenery.
Cities were usually a disastrous experience. Long winding streets bustling with people more often then not spelled doom for the wayward trainer, getting rather lost in the streets as his sense of direction ultimately failed him. While yes, one could always ask for directions, Azin’s people skills left much to be desired when in an overly populated situation. So no, he normally avoided cities like the plague unless he had company. But again, to see him traveling with others proved rare.
This is why upon reaching Slateport, the trainer took an immediate turn away from the entrance and into the surrounding wilderness. Veering away from the aforementioned overly civilized treeless horror towards the open grasslands bordering the ocean beyond.
Traipsing along the coast, Az readjusted the bag on his shoulder. From the way the wind was blowing he was sure a storm would roll in by nightfall. Whether or not he made it to a reasonable shelter in time was of course probably beyond his capabilities at the moment. You win some, you lose some, sometimes your galvantula won’t get off your back and generally makes your life harder. Or better yet, sometimes your partner refuses to help you in less then favorable situations and lets you walk all the way to town instead of simply flying you in before a bad storm hit so you have to walk even farther in that.
“Silas, be a bit more careful. If the wind keeps picking up you’ll end up flying like last time.” He craned his head to look over his shoulder at the pokemon attached to his back, giving the small spider a smile. Currently the electric type was curled in Az’s jacket, taking refuge from the ocean spray whipping around the two on their trek into town. Silas’ noise of consent was mostly lost in the crash of the waves but the trainer got the gist. With one last look out towards the sea, he picked up his speed towards the end of town.
Half sprinting to get ahead of the storm, Azin really didn’t notice where he was going. Honest to Arceus cities were not his thing, and the farther he traveled into the buildings the more lost he got and the more he started to turn towards the sea instead. Anything was better then this madness. His laser focus on outside the city was quickly broken by someone talking to him. The awkward half trip that accompanied Az’s skidded stop wasn’t the most graceful, but it was having to catch the pokemon previously hidden on his back that was the icing on the cake. God where even was he.
Turing towards the other, the blonde carefully unzipped his coat to let Silas crawl back inside. “Uuuuuuh...... I mean I would b-” The following downpour cut off his words and the trainer curled over the pokemon inside his coat, throwing the jackets hood back up.
Why does this always happen. Taking a deep breath Az took a couple steps closer to the other. “I have no clue where I am and would really appreciate it if you could point me towards the nearest pokemon center?”

Owari no Seraph - Chapter 37
Mikaela Hyakuya
Sitting on the tile floor of the local pokécenter, Kenta peered down at the yellow and blue egg that rested comfortably in his lap. It had been a long while since he’d visited such a place, and while natural options for healing his team were always available in the form of different berries, with everyone as tired as they were, a visit to the center was deemed the best course of action.
Out of his team, only Havoc currently remained by his side. The others were being checked over by the nurses, but the Tyranitar was stubborn enough to stay by his trainer’s side as he waited, and being unable to physically shift a stubborn 500 pound rock-monster, the wandering trainer was given little choice but to keep him in his company.
But as insistent as the Tyranitar had been, it hadn’t taken long before the large pokémon had dozed off, slumbering on the pokécenter floor as Kenta remained propped up against the creature’s side, left with only his thoughts as he turned his new-found egg over in his hands.
“Wonder what you’re gonna be,” he muttered out loud to himself, entirely unaware of the strange looks he received from where he sat. “Kinda small, for an egg.”
The last thing Azin had expected was to run into Kenta when the blonde walked into the Aspertia City pokemon center. He would have sworn that the other lived in Johto, but who was Az to decided where other trainers traveled. First things first though. Quietly he made his way over to the front desk, turning over his pokeballs for the nurses to do their job. That done with, he turned and carefully adjusted the egg in his grip. Making his way over, and being sure to avoid the large tyranitar, the taller plopped down on the bench next to the other.
“Funny seeing you here.” Az adjusted the egg on his lap, peering curiously at the other. “Oh, you have a new addition to? Do you know what it is?” One of many reasons he had come to the pokemon center today. He had been hoping that one of the nurses here might recognize the egg he himself had acquired.
Talla’s face lit up at the sound of Amity Square. She always spent her afternoons there, and was excited to show someone new the wonders of the place. “I know where it is! I can take you there!” Before Azin was able to say a word, she ran from behind the counter and threw off her apron. She grabbed his hand and dragged him through the front door. “I could really use a break from work anyways, let’s go!”
Stepping out of the pokemon center, Talla took a deep breath and soaked up the sunlight. The two made their way through the bustling city, stopping every so often for Talla to pet any pokemon they passed. As they strolled past various people and buildings, Talla rambled on and on, asking question after question, attempting to welcome the traveler to her favorite city. “So what brings you to Hearthome? Are you on vacation, or just here to challenge the gym? By the way, whats your name? I’m Talla, and it’s nice to meet you! I hope you enjoy your stay in the city!”
Before he could even blink, let alone get a word in edgewise, the girl had grabbed his hand and dragged him back into the city. “Okay.......” The absence of the pokemon center quickly was making the taller freak out, if only a bit. Her excitement was palpable while they slowly made their way through the twists and turns.
It seemed that the other was always just..... happy? Never has Azin seen someone stop to say hello to this many pokemon. Maybe it’s part of her job or something, she did work at the pokemon center. Whatever at this point. He was stuck with her for the foreseeable future considering the blonde could barely keep up with the other let alone follow the route.
“Oh uuuuuh........ Well I was kinda in the area? I really just needed to get to the other side of the city and I didn’t feel like walking around........” The girl just kept chattering. Did this end???????? “I ummm... thank you for your help? I’m Azin, but people usually just call me Az?” Good job. Everything a question you are just so social. He really needed to get out more.
“Oh, a Talonflame…”
Wyrren’s light purple eyes scanned over the firebird, who had came over to see his Xatu. Delphi stared curiously at the fellow Flying-type, before letting out a slight coo.
His eyes glanced up as he heard a voice, as a young man ran over to him, presumably his trainer.
“Is this your Talonflame sir?”
seriously this needs to stop happening.....
Azin was very much done with his team. Echo taking off? That makes sense the noivern has no clue whats going on at any given point. Cori? Sure, the giant ass bird didn’t give a shit what his trainer thought and Az could at least rely on the braviary to come back. Sometimes with food. Miki on the other hand? The talonflame had never been anything but sweet since he had caught her.
This is just ridiculous. “Miki please come back.” The blonde yelled after the smaller bird, trying to catch up. Running after something that flies never exactly works well, but at this point Az probably had enough practice.
He was breathing heavily when he finally caught up, eyeing the xatu that Miki decided to chat with all of a sudden. What the fuck ever. Az turned to the other pokemon’s trainer, internally cringing. “Yes she is. I am very sorry, she isn’t normally like this......”
