Some really fun POC redesigns I drew of Princess Daisy based on the real-life locations that inspired the four kingdoms that make up Sarasaland: Birabuto Kingdom (based on Ancient Egypt), Chai Kingdom (based on Ancient China), Easton Kingdom (based on Easter Island), and Muda Kingdom (based on Bermuda, and to a lesser extent, the lost continent Mu).

The crown space filler is a nod to Chai Kingdom being Daisy’s original home in Sarasaland according to the SM wikia. :>

Humans are such social creatures, never feel bad for thinking you’re annoying or clingy or attention seeking or simply asking too much of people. Remember that if we were not social creatures, a small leg injury would be a death sentence and you would die alone in the woods to a predator. But instead you can ask for help. You can ask for food from a housemate or call an ambulance. If you’re shivering you can ask for a blanket or to turn the heat up. Our level of comfort inside modern homes isn’t being spoiled, it’s the result of caring for each other every step of the way.

Social anxiety and embarrassment only exist because it’s primally hard wired in us to fear getting rejected, excluded, or banished from the social group. Which in turn would leave you alone in the wilderness to freeze, starve, and die. These emotions we only view as negative and “useless” but they were actually fundamental to survival at one point. You don’t fear “talking to people” you fear starving and dying. The brain doesn’t really know the difference because it still speaks that old, old language. But when you get scared or embarrassed you can remind it that you still have food at home and people who will take care of you even if you make a social blunder.

frum is one of the conservatives i think has actually kept in touch with his soul. he was one of the first to say "look we were just wrong about the risks of gay marriage, other countries have done it and actually it is fine". he was sincere in his belief that there were societal problems, and when he found evidence that he was wrong, he accepted that, and its implications.

i wish i were shocked that people are trying to use his daughter's death to hurt him, but i'm not shocked anymore, this is just the way the faction runs now, which is sort of why he's not really in that faction anymore.

i listen to this podcast by two priests who talk about what life as a priest is like because I find their stories interesting, and one of the best moments was when the younger priest, baby priest we shall call him, absolutely lost it on the podcast because he had been preaching, then he saw someone do a full body sigh, shoulders up and down, then look at their watch, and then shoot baby priest a dirty look. Because priests are human too, this priest found it irritating on a human level, which, okay, I can see that--and then, he spent several minutes vehemently (and jokingly, but also, vehemently) proposing that Catholicism should update its rules so if anyone does that, the priest is allowed to come down from the altar and challenge the person to hand-to-hand combat. He argued that more people would come back to church if there was a chance of seeing the priest getting in a fistfight and in fact they might go to church multiple times a day. He stubbornly refused to allow exemptions for little old ladies. he was fully and passionately committed to the idea of Catholicism allowing priests to fistfight parishioners in the middle of mass, and I'm going to say it: i think he was right
