Virginia Woolf on why she became a writer – absolutely breathtaking read on the “shock-receiving capacity” necessary for being an artist, full of enormous insight into the human experience.

my favorite thing is when creators dish out random info about their characters that has no real value… that’s not sarcasm. i truthfully love knowing little, useless tidbits like “hey! this character wears a size seven shoe. isn’t that neat” in the sincerest way possible. thank you for that. it is neat. i enjoy it. it’s good

I also want to have a family of my own and live a life that is exemplary for others, especially for those that relate to my story. I believe in a better world. I want to be a part of the solution. Because it affects me so personally, Immigration reform in this country is on the top of my list. The importance to fight for Human rights and the environment goes without saying. This is just the beginning and there is much to be done. I know I have to work hard for the rest of my life and that is OK.
I’m reblogging this every time I see it.

Trailer: Victor Frankenstein
Well, this certainly looks better than I, Frankenstein. The latest silver screen reworking of Mary Shelley’s gothic horror classic stars James McAvoy as the titular mad scientist, Daniel Radcliffe as faithful servant Igor, directed by Sherlock and Lucky Number Slevin’s Paul McGuigan and with a script from Chronicle wunderkind and wrestling nerd Max Landis. It certainly looks like one of the more light-hearted, less angsty takes on the story (leaning a tiny bit closer to Young Frankenstein than Kenneth Branagh’s 1994 version), and is undoubtedly more well-rounded than the likes of Van Helsing and the aforementioned I, Frankenstein. The film’s official synopsis and first poster are below.
James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in a dynamic and thrilling twist on a legendary tale. Radical scientist Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences. Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creation.
Victor Frankenstein is set for release on November 25th
