Imagine: A dance off between the henchmen from Genghis Khan and the Soviets from My Trigger.

The henchmen stand still but do the thing where they bob their heads and pat their arms against their legs. The soviets go up and down and occasionaly walk back and forth while doing the hand wiggle. Everyone pretends to be impressed as to not hurt their feelings.

you make the best music videos I've ever seen and I don't understand how you aren't more well known but I'm working on changing it. Figure It Out is my current favorite project of yours, but it changes by the week.

Things the music video for My Trigger has taught me:

Americans need no background dancers, Soviets don’t do anything without them.

Americans are stupid, and therefor need one big button that says ‘launch nukes’ to understand what the button is for, but the Soviets are more partial to a remote control with several switches. Probably because that way, if they decide to fire off the missiles they can just say they pressed the wrong button.

The hand wiggle thing is an international phenomenon. You know what I’m talking about.

When you talk to someone on the phone, you have to stand directly in front of them and also there have to be people dancing around you. It’s probably why everybody texts these days.

The Soviets had to remind themselves they were communists by putting a sickle and hammer on every fucking wall.

And it’s out! “Pull My Trigger” by Miike Snow, Directed by Ninian Doff.

I’ve was genuinely overwhelmed by how incredible the response was to the ‘Genghis Khan’ video, it’s really incredible and touching. So I was VERY cautious in discussing a sequel. In fact I said “no” initially when asked as didn’t want to damage the story or characters. BUT then I had the idea of a using the same cast but in a whole new story. This way we get to see them singing and dancing once again without ever hurting the world of the first video. So this is now a kind of a “make love not war” double bill. A new world for you to enjoy with the cast but also one you can ignore if you don’t like it ha ha! Its been a joy as always to make and I hope you guys all love it too. (also I think the look between the two of them at the end is pretty... intense if we’re looking for some “Genghis Khan” style subtext here) 

P.S Although I purposefully made this a completely new universe, if you’re looking for some fun theories... Someone suggested this is actually a prequel. Set before the injury that caused gold nose. Pretty fun theory to play around with!

Posting on tumblr I’m aware loads of followers of mine are here from Miike Snow video and intrigued to know what response to this is! All I’d say to you is this: keep watching, the song/video is a lot more empowering and subversive that it might first appear!
