No offense but the internet gives you the most wrong and fucked up idea of helping people because people get mad if you don't care about disasters happening in 72 countries, meanwhile the people in real life that are doing the most good picked one VERY SPECIFIC thing to care about and care about it REALLY HARD
The internet has taken a whole generation of bright, motivated, passionate young people who care and have big hearts and turned them into paralyzed, shattered wrecks too crushed by the weight of the world's pain to hand a pair of socks to a person in need
*street shot of zohran mamdani clad in nasty lil suit and hard hat* five months ago i was elected mayor of new york city. in that time, we have managed to COMPLETELY defeat the Staten Island Minotaur at no additional cost to the new york taxpayer
Truly, I don't think I've seen a piece of art that gets to the raw, lasting pain of friendship breakups better than Merrily We Roll Along. There are too many shows about the power of friendship, and friendships lasting or being rekindled, not enough about how much it fucking sucks to lose friends you still really care about

the way ozempic has finally made the fact that eating healthy and exercising doesn't necessarily make you thin well known and society's reaction to this is not "oh i guess being thin or fat doesn't actually show if you're healthy" but "oh i guess everyone should be on this drug"
"thought crimes aren't real, it's your actions that matter" and "your mindset informs how you treat others, so you should try not to have a shitty one" are another pair of things that are both true btw
My only comment is form. See theoretically... if you're trying to punch down... a villain... for a book... theoretically...
You want to punch THROUGH the villain. This is called follow through and generates more momentum which creates more force. A common mistake when you're trying to do one of those punch force tests is you stop your punch AT THE OBJECT. But then you immediately lose all your momentum and force.
But if you use the follow through method, you get all of the momentum through the entirety of that punch... theoretically... if you were punching a villain... for a book...
You see this in sports. Like golf, tennis, or baseball. Their club, racket, or bat don't stop where it made contact. They follow the motion through the entire swing so they don't lose momentum or force through the strike

Solange Knowles’ Saint Heron Library digitizes rare and out-of-print works by Black and brown artists, preserving them for future generation
"The Saint Heron Library is home to our archival collection of primarily rare, out of print, and 1st edition titles by Black & brown authors, poets, & artists," she captioned on Instagram.
Throughout time, when certain aspects of physical media aren't accessible, a digital archive library is crucial in a society driven by fast-paced media consumption, where the depth and nuance of marginalized voices can easily be overlooked or forgotten.
...
In our digital age, where much of our interaction with media is limited to clicks and reposts, Knowles’ digital archive provides a safe space for scholarly and artistic work that might otherwise be lost. Saint Heron’s library aims to foster a space where the wisdom and creativity of these “great minds” can thrive, supported by an infrastructure that champions preservation and accessibility.
The library will not only serve as a place of significant works but also act as a catalyst for more conversations around artists, scholars and enthusiasts. "As the market and demand for these books, zines, and catalogues rises, we would like to play a small part in creating free access to the expansive range of critical thought and expression by these great mindsss," Knowles said.
