Girl next door
Pixal borg x reader
She's been your neighbor for years. You two aren't really friends, but you meet quite often in the hallway. At first, just brief greetings. Then compliments. And now you're talking about your problems and difficulties in life.
Her appearance was astonishing. Her hair reflects like a mirror. Her skin was ice-cold and hard. Screws held her together, and her lips were made of metal. How would it feel like if you gave her a kiss....?
After a bad day, you walk home. Once you arrive there, you notice that your key is not in your pocket. You rummage through your purse hoping you might have just misplaced it, but it's simply not there. Exhausted, you sit down in front of your door and try to reach the locksmith service, but to your luck the phone dies, so now you wait for someone to lend you theirs.
You've been sitting on the floor with your head in your hands for an hour now, but nobody's coming. Why is everyone so busy right now? Suddenly you feel an icy finger on your shoulder. It taps you. When you look up, there's Pixal. "Are you alright?" "Yea. No wait do you have a phone with you right now? I forgot my key and I have to call those key service guys" She nods and reaches for her bag to pull it out then she hands it to you. They tell you it'll take another hour so you give her the device back and sit down again. She moves towards her front door, which is on the right side of yours, and puts her key in the lock to open it. "Do you want to stay with me while waiting? I promise I'm entertaining" You needed to stop yourself before you agreed too quickly "Yea sure. If you don't mind!".
You enter her hallway; there are two doors on each side. At the end of the hallway was the balcony. It was quite nicely decorated with many shades of purple and elegant lighting. Your heart is beating so loudly that you're worried she might be able to hear it too. You're not sure when it happened, but for a while now you've felt strange around her. Not uncomfortable, but overwhelmed. Every smile. Every word. Everything she does. She has invaded your mind and doesn't want to leave.
"You look lost in thoughts. Is there anything you want to know?"
"Uhh. Is your body heavy?" You panicked...
"I believe it's not heavier than yours."
"Oh yea that makes sense. I uh I was asking because you're a robot and metal and uhh yea that"
She giggles and you look down in embarrassment.
"You don't need to be nervous. Let's sit in my living room. Maybe this will help you relax"
Normally it would be even more humiliating that she noticed how tense you are, but somehow... you feel so safe with her that you follow her into the living room.
Once the awkwardness fades, you can't stop talking. The hour passes, but you don't want this moment to end. Pixal goes to the kitchen to get you drinks and snacks. While she's gone, her phone rings. It's the locksmith service. They've arrived, but... What if this is the last time you'll be this close? She didn't seem to remember it either, so you quickly reject the call and hope she won't see it when she comes back. She sticks her head through the livingroom door to ask
"Would you rather want tea or a soft drink. I also have coffee just tell me what you like"
You tell her your preferred drink and she brings it to you.
She settles down next to you fully aware of how anxious you are. Little do you know she remembered. Of course she did. Pixal is incredibly intelligent and has a very good memory. This is probably because she's a robot, but that doesn't matter much. She had hoped instead that YOU wouldn't remember. Sure, it was a bit selfish, but it all came from a good place in her heart.
As it gets dark outside, you stay jumpy, so Pixal says "it seems they haven't come. Would you like to stay with me for tonight? I mean, where else would you go?"
You hesitate so as not to sound too cheerful when you accept her offer. She smiles, prepares the sofa, and lends you a pair of pajamas. "Don't worry, I'll sleep here. You can make yourself comfortable in bed." As you prepare to disagree, her eyes soften and she won't let you finish speaking "I insist".
You get ready for bed and lie down. Turning over onto your right side. Then your left. Maybe on your back. You've even tried it on your belly. It doesn't work. Sleeping feels impossible. Your stomach is tingling and you're grinning the whole time. You're lying in her bed in her apartment right now; sleeping there is a total waste of time....time you could spend with her.
You walk to her living room but all this time you spent with her she must feel a little something, right? What if she only sees you as a nice neighbor? No, stop. You have to ask her. If not now, when? You knock and enter the room as soon as you hear her approval. Pixal is lying on the sofa but immediately stands up when her eyes meet yours. You're very intimidated; she looks so confident while you hesitate because how are you supposed to ask her? She's definitely not expecting to be asked out now. You almost chicken out again. You're staying here tonight, so if this goes wrong, it'll be so awkward. It's so quiet; the ticking of the clock combined with your racing heart feels threatening. You can't get a word out.
Finally she breaks the silence "[Your name], I was just about to come over. I have an important question for you.". Your heart stops. That's even worse than when it was pounding loudly. What could she possibly ask? "I've been trying to get closer to you for quite some time now, but honestly, it's been very difficult. I'm sorry. I should have reminded you about the locksmith service. After all I remembered it. The truth is, I wanted you to stay here with me so I'd have time to think about how I wanted to ask you if you wanted to go on a date with me." Her words surprised you. You couldn't hide your huge grin. She... She's interested in you. She wants to go out with you. She also wants you to get closer to each other. A strange noise comes out of your mouth "Yhgn". That was your failed attempt at a "yes". Instead, you just nod. There's really nothing else you can do right now.
Her face lit up. It seems you're not the only nervous one here.
It feels like you're dreaming.
But you aren't.
You'll go out together. It's reality. Not a fantasy.
Finally.
