**At Setsubun, it’s tradition to throw beans to keep last year’s bad spirits away and call fortune for the new year/spring. Also, sardine’s head with holly leaves are used as a talisman. It’s also said you can only eat as many beans (they’re sweet and crunchy) as years of your age.
After this sentence popped up, I rushed for the others Setsubun sentence since it was almost midnight in Japan:
