Day 12

Well we have gotten off to an early start this morning, I was hoping to inoculate my sheep with pulyvax but we have run out of syringes.... will have to make a plan for tomorrow.

Plans for the day: current time 8:24am

1. walk-walk

2. clean out sheep house

3. coffee break

4. plant seeds

5. see if Damien can make me a new desk.

It's now 9.39pm and I did 3 out of the 5 on the list...

plus some side tracks.

1. Proof of exercise

2. Got to watch some lamb racing

6. Made homemade rolls for burgers tonight.

7. Watched the sun rise

8. Started cleaning my jewellery which landed trying to whiten our teeth

It works really well. Good day after all.

Being 30

I woke up this morning and have discovered that being 30 is really different from my 20s. I can't go out without makeup on anymore The laugh lines don't go away My skin needs more attention I have to watch what I eat. I need a toothpick with nearly every meal 12 midnight is a late night I can't focus on my book early in the morning I have new natural highlights in the colour grey.... How does this happen so fast? I thought my parents were kidding about how the body changes so much each decade. At least 40 is still a few years away.

Second week of swimming! Managed about 250m hopefully will build it up more and get my strength up. Watch as I prepare for Midmar 2014.

when bad things turn to something good

After a long day at work, I came home and had a delicious cut of tea. Alina and I were making Moroccan Lamb stew for dinner mmm mmm. I had people coming over for a meeting so we were rushing to get dinner done... anyhow, I had a long sip of tea, then as i put my cup down my little pinky finger hooked the handle and crash!!! There was my tea ...gone...cup smashed too.

After a quick clean up we continued cooking.

OUCH! what was that? There's something poking me in my foot.

(I haven't felt sharp object for 8 years in my feet)

Alina takes a look and there is a tiny piece of glass in my foot!!

I know you're thinking yeah?? so what we've ALL had a shard of something in our foot at some time...but this was a great thing for me.

i felt the sharp prick!! Something amazing from loosing my great cup of tea, I have a new feeling in my foot!!

WHOOP!!!

Top much coffee!!!!!!!

Good physio

Feeling stronger today! Diet is back on track. I can do this!

Craving starch

Ahhh I'm longing for potato or hot bread I have endless hunger. I wish it would go away!

Midmar

Midmar mile in 2 days, I'm really looking forward to it. I have everything organised. I hope al goes well. Its my first fund raiser. My diet is going well, ive lost 5 cm on my tummy so far, since the 7th January!

Wheelchair 101

Roxy came to visit me like she does most days. Into the corner of the room she goes squishing between the wall and my side table. Alina gets my comode so I can go shower. A comode is a wheelchair that has a toilet like hole in the center and it is used to shower in and to go to the loo. Anyway im up and off to go shower, As Alina gets my chair in place, she swings my legs over the edge of the bed, pulls me up into sitting... there pops up a little face in my toilet chair...Rox ....we laughed so much at the innocent expression. Nb: make sure space if free from doggy noses before you sit on a commode.

Wheelchair 101

New week

Monday jumped up from no where! Where did the weekend go? Spent my day a UIF! That was semi helpful...... have to wait a month. The doosh bag has until 26 February to sort it out BUT he has until Thursday to pay me. Thanks to Wendy I've had help from her lawyer friend. I'm missing my sister and mom lately- well more than I normally do, I'd love a girls night

Happy days

15 days of dieting and im feeling so much better. Things have really turned around this last week! I have a job interview tomorrow, im really excited. Hopefully we are staying in Kloof! Yipppeee

Going strong

Yesterday I worked hard at physio, I was starving by the time I came home. I could have eaten the balls of a low flying duck- as Cands always says. Nutti has started working at Marys rooms, it makes such a difference, its busy, ilove busy. I rode the bike for an hour while Mary attended to my neck- Mary found the seed in the pea in the bean. Ive never felt a knot pop, and I mean pop. It was amazing as the kneedle went in I felt the entire knot dodge, then ZAP it was gone, the muscle contracted around the needle it was unlike ive ever felt before. The needle was in tight, but today my neck is perfect. I'm always amazed how well I react to dry needling, in the beginning I would get the shivers and shake for an hour after my treatment. It is fantastic how the body responds. Paula was for funny she couldn't look at the needles sticking out my shoulder. She has improved in leaps and bounds. Its nice to be the 'older' quad for a change and I find her truly inspiring. The diet is still going really well. I'm determined to stick it through. But I do miss my glass of wine. Does it tastes as good as skinny feels? Somedays..... but not today. Xxx
