PT. TWO OF MY SUO YAP because Tumblr is mean and won't let me do it in one post. Spoilers ahead. Forgive any errors, it is 4am. PT ONE: HERE!

In chapter 210, his eye is sort of... well, the best way I can describe it is that he looks like he's in a daze. Maybe something unexpected happened, which led to him having to leave the friends he's made, and everything is happening fast. When Nirei tries to get him to stay, that look in his eye doesn't go away. In fact, the only thing that changes is the fact that he no longer tries to force a smile. Until he says, "We aren't anything." In the manga panel, he looks thoughtful, like he tried and failed to find any significance in their relationship, but your honor, I want to introduce the idea that maybe he was disconnecting himself from the scenario in order to make it easier.  Suo has no problem pretending, as he's been very secretive throughout the entire manga. When Nirei attempts a punch at him, he gets this little shine in his eye, like "wow okay he really wants me to stay," or, more accurately, realization. He then proceeds to tell Nirei that his need to question things has always pissed him off. Uhm, what? Your honor, this is bullshit. Well, maybe not entirely, but I digress. If anything, it probably worries Suo, as his carefully maintained secrecy and image could be found out if Nirei had even the SLIGHTEST clue in the right direction. More importantly, however, I think this was Suo's way of reinforcing his decision to leave for the greater good through this disconnect and facade. He had to make Nirei hate him, even if what he had to say wasn't true. Which all trails back to the fact that he refuses to connect or be vulnerable.  Which I will now try to connect to the latest chapter, 217. If you've stayed through this entire tangent, I am genuinely surprised...  Anyway (x50) Suo is portrayed as a mediator, and his new trio of absolute BADDIES are constantly at his side, so that means they likely come as one unit in RC. Since Suo's an officer, they're probably his seconds or something. We see that they seem to be at least SOMEWHAT responsible for the training of younger members, as well as the care of abandoned or impoverished children. The chef mentions that there are less children that are being abandoned. This implies that taking in these children is not new. My first thought upon reading that was: "Suo had to have been in that position once." His old master might have saved him, and RC welcomed him in, so he feels indebted to the town to an extent. That doesn't mean he doesn't have genuine care for them, as a the end he also says "there are some things they're better off not knowing," which I see as his way of protecting them, but it could give more insight to his reason for leaving Furin. It also tells a lot about the way he shows his care in general. He did the same to Nirei and the rest of Furin, leaving them in the dark about a lot of things for the sake of what seems to be the greater good. Overall, I think Suo is super cool. This was a lot of nonsense rambling, so I really hope it made at least a little bit of sense. Tumblr is my soapbox, much to the dismay of the general public. I am sleep deprived and felt the need to talk about Suo.

Hayato Suo / Sun Fei yapping. (THIS WILL BE SPLIT INTO TWO POSTS and also have spoilers)

Okay, so... newest chapter am I right? 

First and foremost, I would like to point out the fact that Suo's new/techincally old trio is full of BADDIES. My reaction upon see the first panel of the three of them all together was "oh fuck. Who are THEY?" Jaw was genuinely on the floor and everything. Anyway, moving on, I've seen so many theories for Suo, even before the whole disappearance arc. The fact that we have so much but so little information about him is genuinely insane.  I have a few things I'd like to bring to the table. 

The idea of a fight being a conversation is brought up and shown multiple times throughout the anime/manga. Ex: Sakura learns how to "have a proper conversation" (as Umemiya puts it) during his fight with Togame. These conversations force them to be vulnerable or expose them in some way - for example, once again back to Sakura and Togame, the spirit with which Sakura fights makes Togame realize something: he hadn't been himself. The fight / conversation he had with Sakura forced him to confront the truth, to confront the fact that he had completely changed himself because his opponent, Choji, was too strong-willed for him to get through. The same thing happened with Choji, in a way, where his fight with Umemiya forced him to confront the facts. His way to gaining power was completely wrong, yadayada we know this. 

Anyway, something I noticed whenever Suo fights is that the conversation isn't really.. a conversation. He doesn't allow himself vulnerability, and instead continually puts down his opponent by calling them childish (while being no more than 16 himself, mind you). Belittling them distracts from himself. And, this might foreshadow his high-ranking position in RC despite how young he is - being forced to "step into adulthood" at such a young age. Also, he's just fucking cool and can do things effortlessly. He has NEVER once been grazed in a fight. Until Nirei confronted him. 

Suo is a character that is well-known and often theorized over because of his deliberate yet subtle way of creating distance. I've seen people bring up the fact that eating meals together is also a way to show connection in the manga/anime, and Suo is never seen eating with the group - another example of deliberate distance. It would only make sense that in a fight he would do the same. While characters like Umemiya and Sakura and even Endo make their motivations clear, allowing their resolve and character to shine through, Suo has a cold, sort of empty demeanor whenever he fights. There isn't anything in the fight for him. Now, this can probably be traced back to the way he was trained or raised. He mentioned learning to fight under some kind of master, and with the revelation of RC, it makes me wonder if there are some slightly toxic traditional values in play here. Y'know, the type that detests vulnerability. It could also be Suo himself who hates it. Anyway, a common "trope" if you will, is that those who are "untouchable" as Suo is shown to be, are often forced to accept that to be untouchable, they cannot be comfortable or vulnerable and must shoulder burdens alone. Wow, how many times can I use the same word? Anyway (x6), Satoru Gojo is a prime example of this alongside Suo.  Satoru Gojo is widely regarded in the world of Jujutsu Sorcerers as the strongest, mostly due to his Six Eyes. He is a character who is later shown to have a lot of emotion, sentimental connection to the past, and one sole weakness: the person who he could be vulnerable with. When his weakness was exposed he was no longer untouchable (sidenote: fuck Kenjaku). Now back to Suo, because this isn't about Satosugu. The only person who managed to land a hit on him is Nirei. The only person he responded to and gave an explanation (no matter how vague) to is Nirei. Is this Suonirei propaganda? Maybe. Next question. Suo's eye is his most expressive feature, in my humble opinion. His smile is very much faked, so we look upward! or something...

I just wrote something without worrying about how perfect it is, or planning a hundred things first, and I genuinely feel okay—dare I say GOOD—for the first time in weeks. I love writing.

Genuinely never lose sight of the fact that writing is, first and foremost, for you! First drafts won’t be perfect! You don’t have to know every second or breath that happened in your story/novel/fanfiction or whatever! If you like it or want it, write it! Nobody is stopping you but the very persistent need to be the absolute best on the first try (from experience).
