It took a moment for Liam to process this information. When he did, his eyebrows shot up for a second. “Oh shit, really?” His eyes searched Noah’s face, who had a self-deprecating sort of smile on his face. “Guess I don’t have to ask how you feel about that,” he said then. Noah had told him a lot about what had happened. “Gotta be something you can do about that, right?”

“We’re going to speak to Ms Williams if we can change partners,” Noah replied, sighing as he put his elbows on the table, lacing his fingers so he could rest his chin on his hands. “However, from past experience that hasn’t worked out. We’ve been paired up together in English a few months ago as well.” He stayed quiet for a moment or two. “He also texted me earlier and kind of asked about you, by the way. Was a bit strange.”

Liam finished wiping his mouth before he put the used napkin on his plate and shoved it to the side, eyeing Noah all the while. “ I can’t actually answer that question, but judging by the way you’re asking, I’m going to go with no,” he answered, his foot pulling Noah’s a little closer under the table, partly to get him to look up at him. 

Letting out a small laugh, Noah licked over his lips and glanced up at Liam for a moment. His attention quickly returned to his phone screen though, “Toby and I got paired up for a partner project in French.” Sighing, Noah  locked the device and shoved it into his skinny jeans’ pockets. His feet sandwiched Liam’s under the table, needing the body contact at all times. “Lucky me.”
