ever since moving to the capital city, rieon’s noticed that, now more than ever, she’s being given ample amounts of attention from the opposite sex, and though she finds most of them dull and annoying, she’s also not a total moron. being treated to free meals, shopping sprees, ice cream dates, and more ? why on earth would she turn down offers that include one, or all, of the above, especially if the aforementioned offers are coming from handsome someones who, as far as she’s concerned, simply want to show her a good time by trying to woo her ? there’s a part of her that realizes how 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 it is for her to go along with these plans, but then again, all she’s doing is agreeing to meet up with someone for an afternoon of hanging out. what’s the harm in that ? sure, their wallets might become a little ( or even significantly ) lighter afterwards, and she’s not sure if she’ll talk to them ever again, but it’s all fun and games in the moment, right ? she tells herself this as she gazes at herself in the mirror; bringing her tube of lip-tint up to reapply her signature shade to the center of her pout; saturating it stunningly before setting it back into her handbag. the walk from the company to shinsegae wasn’t long, but she still felt the need to ensure that she looked immaculate before browsing the stores.
making sure her hair falls in the proper places, she gives herself one last once-over and exits; turning the corner only to find noah waiting on her. ❝ alright, i’m good to go now. ❞ she lilts, linking her arm with his — feeling safer with him being closer to her in a more crowded space. ❝ should we grab some coffee or some smoothies first before we dive in ? a drink sounds nice, but so does stumbling into every designer store around here as quickly as possible… ❞ rieon continues, squeezing onto his bicep. ❝ i appreciate the invitation, by-the-way. i’ve been kind of driving myself crazy with preparations for my upcoming evaluation, so some retail therapy is 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚 what i need right now. it’s almost as if you read my mind. ❞
noah couldn’t believe that you had actually agreed to spend time with just him. his bandmates had made fun of him just days earlier for thinking that he ever had a shot with you. and while there really wasn’t any confirmation that this was anything more than a friendly outing, he was thrilled. while it had been your beauty that first caught his eye, he was determined to learn everything there was to know about you. what were your favorite things to do? what kind of foods did you like to eat? were you scared of the dark? maybe he should’ve brought a notebook with him. he already doubted that he’d be able to remember everything. maybe that’s why he asked if you wanted to meet up at the mall. there’d be plenty of distractions there, so his nervous antics would be less noticeable, right? he could always hide in a dressing room stall if things went really wrong. yeah, that was a good idea. he’d have to remember that one for later, just in case.
leaning against the cool wall, he watched as the crowds of people walked by. they all seemed so natural— as if they knew how to act in public without making fools out of themselves. noah was starting to doubt whether or not he had the same abilities. but there wasn’t another second to worry about such trivial things before his breath was taken away. looking up just in time to spot you walking towards him, he almost felt like falling over. the tile floor didn’t seem like such a bad place to lay down, anyways. no matter how many times he laid eyes on you, his heart skipped a beat. why were you even bothering spending time with someone like him? but then again, maybe he didn’t want to question his good fortune.
“i was starting to think that you ran out the back.” he chuckles sheepishly as he brought his glance down to rest on you. “you know, i wouldn’t really blame you with your busy schedule and all. are you even allowed to be doing stuff like this? aren’t most idols on lockdown all the time? you’re not going to get in trouble for this, are you?” he furrows his brows. he still didn’t completely understand how people lived their lives as idols— or why they would want to be one. it just seemed like too many rules to live by. how were they supposed to enjoy their lives?
but it really wasn’t any of his business, was it? shut up, noah. but of course, he just went right back to talking. “i’d say that we could do both at the same time, but last time i tried that, it didn’t really end well. did you know that store employees can get really mad when you accidentally spill your mango smoothie all over their clothing displays?” his eyes slightly widen, as if he were reliving every moment of the encounter. “and they didn’t even have my size in the end! talk about a disappointment.” he clicks his tongue, giving his head a slight shake.
despite his nervous rambling, noah was already enjoying his time with you. offering you a genuine smile, he then shrugs his shoulders. “oh, come on. i should be the one thanking you for actually agreeing to my idea.” he chuckles. “well, why don’t we grab something to drink first? you must be exhausted from all your practicing! maybe we should rent one of those little carts that look like a car— you know, the kind that you can rent for kids as you walk around the mall.”
