The love dilemma surrounding Adrien ( Exaltation/Elation spoilers)

      In regards to Adrien, every one of their friends could clearly see that Marinette loved Adrien, except Adrien. However, as it turns out, there was a reason for Adrien’s obliviousness.  Thanks to the events of “Determination”, Luka and Kagami give us some insight into Adrien’s love life. Luka explains that because Adrien is so kind and generous, he is constantly surrounded by people who show their love and affection for him and he in turn always tries to love everyone back, as a result, he is surrounded by a forest/jungle of love and couldn’t see Marinette’s love for him.

       Despite so many people questioning his caring devotion to her as a clear sign of romantic interest, Adrien only ever assumed his caring nature towards Marinette was simply because he valued her as a good friend. In turn, Adrien only ever assumed anything Marinette said or did, which clearly expressed her love for him, was just a sign that she was being a good friend. No matter what it was, he just couldn’t see that love clearly.

(In “Befana”, Adrien has some private time to stare at Marinette’s charm, after gifting her a charm he made himself for her)
