BABY CHEETOH TO FULL GROWN CHEETOH
I love having a blog because it holds the therapeutic value of keeping a diary but instead it’s like shouting into the void TODAY I WAS SAD AND BOUGHT LIPSTICK and sometimes someone else in the vast blackness will hear you and shout back I AM SORRY YOU ARE SAD and sometimes they will gently repeat it and whisper me too and sometimes they will simply hear you and nod and it is very comforting
You are not screaming into the void in vain. The void is just practicing active listening and wants you to let it all out without feeling like it is judging or trying to speak over you
thank you void
I spent three weeks in a mental hospital and what I discovered there I feel like should be put into words.
we are not who you think we are.
the boy with turrets told the funniest jokes
the girl who raked her nails up and down her skin could create the most exquisite drawings
the girl who abused drugs had the wisest soul
the boy with schizophrenia had the biggest heart
the girl who tried to kill herself told the boy with insomnia stories to help lure him to sleep
the boy who wanted to kill himself had the deepest passion for cooking
the girl with slits and scars all over her body dried my tears and told me I was beautiful
the boy with anger issues gave the warmest hugs
the girl with bulimia told everyone every day that they looked beautiful in their bodies
the boy who was a compulsive liar told us that he wanted us all to get better, and that he was for once telling the truth
the girl who almost drank herself to death stood up for anyone that felt they were feeling bullied
the boy with social anxiety made sure nobody sat alone at meals
we are not who you think we are.
Pro Tip
When an ENT professor demonstrates a throat exam on you and comments on you having no gag reflex…. don’t wink at him.
Oh my god
ah yes did you mean: SCENES I LIVE FOR MORE THAN ANY OTHER
I didn’t really appreciate Aang until this picture.
When I was young, Aang got on my nerves. “Make the tough calls, take responsibility, grow up! I’ve had to!”
I gave him no mercy for his age because, at the time, I was younger than him. He annoyed me when he slacked on his training, when he didn’t listen to Jeong Jeong, when he refused to kill the Firelord. Him and every other character who would give up the greater good to keep the moral high ground. Your principles don’t matter, results do!
It wasn’t until I got older that I saw Aang differently. He was a child, trying to do what was right, who never wanted to do any harm. And he was exactly what the world needed. Aang was a peaceful soul in war time, gentle when others were cruel, merciful when others were unforgiving, and he reminded everyone how to laugh in a world that had long forgotten how to have fun.
Even after years of hardship, losing absolutely everything and waking up to fight a war, Aang still loved life. He loved marble tricks, penguin sledding, and most of all, he loved people. Aang annoyed me because he was naive, but now inspires me because even after he saw the world at it’s worst, he didn’t forget how to be a kid at heart. In this picture, middle aged and with the weight of the world on his shoulders, Aang not only lets some weird guy by the docks take his picture, but does so with absolute glee.
Aang shouldn’t be more like me, I should be more like Aang.
