fun things to do in 2016
stop equating nonbinary with transmasculine
stop making “nonbinary representation” about white skinny conventionally attractive CAFAB trans people
stop saying that resources and products are “for the nonbinary community” when they are obviously only for transmasculine people
stop treating nonbinary as a single unified experience of gender
stop treating masculinity as a “default” state of gender presentation
stop letting nonbinary spaces turn into cliques of white transmasculine people and not seeing anything wrong with this
stop ignoring the ways that those of us who are white and CAFAB can perpetuate dynamics of oppression within the “trans community”
fewer depoliticized trans spaces where structures of oppression go unchallenged, more trans spaces of resistance where we show up to stand in solidarity with one another
Shout out to the Genderfluid people who never feel a binary gender!
It may seem like all genderfluid people only move between male and female.
But trust me.
There are so many of us who never experience being full male and/or female! You’re not alone, you’re not weird, and you’re still completely valid as a genderfluid person!
Whenever I'm filling out applications where gender is a required field and male and female are the only options I get scared and nervous and panicky because I don't know what to put. If it's a medical or legal form I put my AGAB because it's currently my legal gender. Do you have any advice on putting genders on forms/surveys when picking one is severely uncomfortable? Thank you so much
depending on the area its also kind of ?????
like one time i went to my audiologist and i put down F, but they came in confused and asked me if i identified this way. i said no, but that it is my legal sex. they asked what my gender was and what symbol i’d prefer for this M, X, O, etc. so my forms there say X. but the flexibility there is likely bc it’s a metropolitan area with a lot of trans people -- this wouldn’t work in my more rural hometown.
if you can ask, do so. if you can skip it, and are comfortable w that, do that, and ask later if possible.
if it’s not a legal form, you’re not technically under any obligation to put your exact legal information.

is it possible/logical for a genderfluid demigirl to consider themself 'heterosexual' if they only have sexual attraction to males?
Of course! Your identity is your own to define. -silas
so, basically, third gender is problematic and appropriative not directly because of the term itself, but because of the origins and historical connotations of the term? (sorry, i just really want to make sure i understand this fully)
it is problematic and appropriative to use third gender as a self-descriptor if you are not of a culture it has been historically used in. if you are of a culture it has been historically used in, then it is okay for you to use.

im sure this has been asked a hundred thousand times, and im very sorry, but ive been researching all night and i really can't wrap my head around the specific racial issues with aliagender and third gender and a few others i think? please help.
the only one i know the answer to here is third gender
third gender is a term that has been used to describe some gender identities important to specific marginalized cultures. for other people who are not of that culture to take that term for themselves is appropriative.

How long can I bind with the waist off of compression shorts doubled over for without it becoming unsafe?
as a general rule, don’t go over 8 hours, but you need to work your way up to that (2 hours at a time can be a good start). overall, listen to your body and take frequent breaks.

Mod Bunny Here
I think it's been awhile since anyone has posted on here, but I will be stepping down permanently and leaving it in the hands of my co-mods to do as they please. ~Bunny
Is there anyway to style shoulder length hair to look like a boy without cutting it? My parents won't let me cut my hair..
I have shoulder-length hair, and personally, when I want to look more masculine, I get a slouchy beanie and use the rest of my clothes to just make myself look like a stereotypical skater/stoner. Hair is, without a doubt, a very important part of "passing", so longer hair CAN make it harder to pass as a boy, but you can definitely manage it.
A low ponytail can work, too.
Masculinizing facial makeup can help a lot either way.

This is the petition we made to have Leelah’s parents put her proper name on her gravestone. Link I know you tumblr, you can do this.
please please please sign this!!!! Leelah deserves her real name on her headstone....
I got one of the amazon binders, the bra-like one, Im a 36 C, and I can take full breaths in it, and I can also move around pretty easy. Some people end up having problems with it and others dont. Also lesbian is the term used for anyone that 1/2
Binds in some countries. The binder I got is also a lil stretchy. I put mine on the widest rung + got a large. It really depends on how your body is aligned and how you personally will fit into it. It isnt for some people, but its not super awful.
the binder you recomended to buy from amazon is really dangerous!!!!!if it says that it's for women, then the company doesn't know what it's selling. plus, why should lesbians bind their chests, if not for cosplay reasons(or maybe if they're genderfluid...)? it's really dangerous
this is important info!!!
(also anyone of any sexuality or gender can bind their chest for any reason, self expression has no limits!!! but this is important)

Free short story from author Kayla Bashe!
Hey, I'm a professional writer, and as a holiday gift to my followers, I put a short story about a nonbinary teen with magical powers online. Would you be interested in signal boosting it?

I'd love to share the representation cheer with as many people as possible!
I'm confused by a recent answer to an ask. Are AFAB people not allowed to be demigirls?
AFAB people can definitely be demigirls! But using titles like "trans girl" for an AFAB demigirl is not appropriate.

I saw a post that was pretty transmisogynistic when i was going through the nonbinary tag, it was from your blog, do you really think AMAB femme presenting people don't face a harder reality than AFAB butch presenting people or...?
That is not a view the owner of this blog (me) shares and I apologize if that post was on this blog. If you have the link to the post, please share it with me so it can be deleted immediately and so that the mod (if they’re still on tumblr, we have several who had left tumblr completely) who posted that or reblogged it can be contacted.
