Talking about this because I don't think people should keep ignoring it. If you dead name or misgender a trans person in an argument you are transphobic.

If you dead name or misgender a trans person because you disagree with what they are saying/doing you are transphobic. If you dead name or misgender a trans person because you are mad at them you are transphobic. If you dead name or misgender a trans person because they are a bad person you are transphobic. Pronouns are not conditional. You can disagree with someone, not like them, or not respect them while still using their correct pronouns. Immediately attacking the persons trans identity to win your argument proves nothing except how shit of a person you are.

phil being the one to say "i wouldve done this sooner" is like. surprising and not surprising at the same time. because ofc we've known that dan's been the one with trauma about being gay so he would be less interested in coming out but phil has always been so private about his life that i always just assumed it was completely double-sided in them not wanting to say anything. like dan's been the one venturing into soft launch territory and phil's been keeping it private but !!!!! its all because phil wanted to let him do it on his own terms!!!!!!!! dan and phil are in love FOR REAL

just watched the new dan and phil video and my takeaway impression is mainly that they are so, so generous and forgiving towards their fans. they would be completely justified in clamming up and never saying jack shit to anyone and i think the thoughtfulness and kindness in saying “we know that even for many of the people who were shipping us more aggressively and violating our privacy were just very excited young people who didn’t know the impact they were having on us, and we don’t want anyone to feel bad, so take this as a clean slate” is utterly remarkable

also, the way dan talks about how phil lit up his life about halfway through is one of the most loving things i’ve ever seen. truly. i am so happy for the two of them—that they found each other in the first place, and that they now are at a point where they feel comfortable sharing this
