Hello! We are the Nonsensical System, a mixed-origin OSDD style system with both a traumagenic side and an endogenic side. The main body is over 25 years old, and the hosts use dan/gan pronouns (but that's a lie) while the greater system collectively uses plural they/them pronouns.

As a collective we answer to Noni, but a directory of other system members can be found above in this pinned post or our blog links. While we do have core hosts, this blog is primarily meant for the collective use of the traumagenic side of the system, referred to as the Inner System. The endogenic side, referred to as the Outer System is quite large and divided into sects with their own sideblogs, found in their sections of the directory.

We do not engage in syscourse, shipcourse, or other discourse that involves harassment. Such topics and other harassment will be blocked. Further details can be found in our Disclaimer found above in this pinned post or blog links.

When they say figuring out if you're trans or not is more about chasing joy than hyper-analyzing your misery they aren't kidding. When I think "do I hate my boobs? am I really a trans man or am I bigender like I thought?" I get a lot of weird and complicated feelings my brain is not ready to break down, but when I think "hypothetically, what would my life be like without boobs" I can't stop smiling thinking about wearing all my favorite shirts and walking around shirtless and swim shirtless and never having to buy another bra or feel like my boobs are holding me back from doing things I want to do and it's like oh.

Oh.

btw, if you base whether or not you have been Wronged in a situation on how bad you feel? that's bad. hurting other people feels REALLY BAD. FREQUENTLY. you feeling REALLY BAD does not = other people have mistreated you terribly.

experiencing consequences for legitimately bad behavior often feels absolutely terrible. even worse than being punished for something you didn't do, in my experience! if you allow your emotions to dictate whether you think you have been mistreated, you're going to treat the people YOU mistreat like they have harmed you unforgivably.

this is the logic that leads to DARVO. it is imperative to recognize the paths that lead to this behavior. your feelings are real and hard and they're also not telling the truth about every situation. they don't dictate reality.

The AMOUNT of therapy I have been to that never had a satisfying explanation for the behavioral consistency of DARVO across multiple culturally distinct individuals-

it's an empathetic injury, that's why it's *so* fast, so severe, and the "reasoning" can change so much even when the same story is told again; it's not pre-planned, there's no mastermind string-pulling or whatever, it's "Ah fuck, why do I feel so bad, it can't be my fault, so I need to explain why it is your fault".

I wish I could tell past me this. It would have shattered a lot of the illusions of control built into my environment if I had been able to see how many of the lies were just made up on the literal spot and that the people telling them were not expecting their actions to have consequences.

Many thanks, I will be taking this information with me both in terms of "How to not hurt others like I was hurt" and in terms of continuing my knowledge project of "Everyone is a person with their own internal motivations and reasoning"

this took SUCH a huge deal of unlearning because, like so many of you, i came out of a home where being quietly in trouble WAS the default state, and i DID grow up not just with the assumption but borderline religious conviction that Everyone Is Mad At Me, I Am Bad, I Must Exist In A Constant State of Attempting to Pacify The Natural Rage I Inspire In Everyone. and no it actually turns out that my family are the freaks . and yours are too

if the peacefulness of your relationship with someone (familial, romantic, friendly, anything) can be destroyed by effective communication/asking them for effective communication, you have got to get out of there. if you can’t get out of there, you’ve got to throw away any ideas about what that person thinks of you because they have their own shit to figure out before they can accurately read anyone else
