motivational berserk quotes to start your day
Do not know who needs to hear it but.
Draw for yourself and not for others. It is can hard to do especially when people who you think are supposed to support you are not and are constantly trying to make you do something against your wishes. Who cares if it is "not what sells" or "your style is not cool or popular" Do what makes YOU happy first. Only time you need to draw for other is if you are trying to sell.
You will burn yourself out by trying to please people who can not be pleased or find things to be negative about what you are doing. If you are not seeking to be a professional and just doing things for funsies then just keep doing what you are doing, don't worry about improving fast. Experimenting is great and so is trying new things and learning new techniques and drawing outside your comfort zones. But don't feel pressured to do so if you don't feel it is the right time. Just take it slow and easy. Take your time. Actually if you're wanting to be a professional artist, well take your time as well. Art is a skill that takes time.
Don't focus on trying to be popular or known fast. These can drag you down when it doesn't happen. And most likely won't happen easily tbh. Don't compare yourself to others especially popular artist or artists with better skills then you. You are not them. You are at a different stage of your art journey. Comparing yourself can suck the joy out of things. So don't do that.
Try and learn to tune out those people who trying to pressure you and not being supportive and Do what makes you happy. If you are finding yourself losing joy because pressure for others it is okay to take a break. Try and find a way to refocus back on what once made drawing a joy for you. Just take your time and be yourself.

Would like to hear yours and others' opinions on this:
Imagine someone would ask to make an art trade, and they want that ver specific kind of art that they want you to draw for them with these and that- just a lot of details in general, but they'll only use a children's character maker game to make their end of the art trade. Just literally attempting to make your character/s through the limited options of the game then screenshot it and that's it. No effort to actually put any artistic skills into it. Would you call it unfair and just refuse the art trade? Is it even really considered an art trade to begin with?
yes to being unfair, yes I would refuse, and no it’s not an art trade if they lay it out on the table saying they use a doll maker
- Mod S
Yes that is completely unfair and one would be more then justified to reject them. It is not an art trade at all. Definitely would be a little insulted to have someone thinks one's time and effort is worth a screenshot of a probably extremely inaccurate version of your OC
dear dA users. Especially if you are a grown ass adults. You need to understand that:
Your page rules are not enforcable. And you can not report someone for- blocking you, reporting you, deleting your comments all because your page rules says so. YOU DO NOT MAKE THE RULES. Guess what dA allows anyone to block freely and delete comments as they wish. Just because you wrote it on your profile does not make it valid
whiteknight is not a racist term. And no you can not report someone for calling you a white knight.
Someone blocking you or deleting your comments is not something to call someone out for
It is not against dA rules for an artist to take NSFW request a or commissions. Artist are allowed to create NSFW. They do not need to hide it in stash. Just because you are anti-NSFW. As long as it follows dA rules anyone can create NSFW.
You putting do not report me on your page or in your witchhunt post is not enforcable. Especially if your post is clearly a childish and petty reason or because that person is your "enemy" that how dare they blocked you or deleted your comments. And no you making "this person brainwashed XYZ against me" is also not a valid callout.
You can't demand people not block you and no you can't demand that everyone must love you.
If you make stupid callouts for stupid reason the you are going to get people making one against you to clear their name. And no it is not lies when it shows you are in the wrong. Especially when you call people pedos or racist with zero proof of put in stupid crap like "blocked me" "broke my page rules" "deleted my comments" "takes NSFW requests"
People getting your clearly a witch hunt post where you tag all your friends and spam your slanderous post to others down is not breaking any rules or an attack or some evil plan. You are breaking dA rules by making it in the first place and tagging 50+ people. Again you saying do not report or your rules is not enforcable.
YOU DO NOT MAKE THE RULES. YOUR RULES DO NOT OVERRIDE THE SITE RULES OR PEOPLE'S BOUNDARIES.
People are allowed to create art you hate. You can not make them not draw it. Especially if dA allows it. You can not tell people what fandoms they are allowed to be in.
.
Just a lil reminder
-AI checkers are not reliable. They have been giving false positives on non AI works. These should not be taken as proof as something is AI due to the flawed system.
-AI can and already are being used to make fake process video /screen grabs. From sketches to finish can now be faked with AI.
-wikipedia and AI (gemini/google/chatgpt whatever) are not valid sources and have a very high chance of misinformation. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone. AI is not a source. It will often pick up half the information or the wrong information. It has more often then not provided incorrect information and dangerous information. Do not trust AI as a source.
-If you fucked up and stole/scammed/drama don't use AI to write your apology. This is shitty and insincere
.
i swear people forget tracing stock photos is perfectly acceptable in art. Including the professional fields.
Or Clip Paint Studio has 3D models you can trace or reference that also do not need to credit. And are there to be used.
And seen one early 2000s how to draw manga book that also included tracing stock photos.
Only time tracing is wrong is if you are tracing over other people's artworks or things that are not stock/base or reference related materials. Or not disclosing you are tracing these for say commissions.
Tracing over Dragonball Z or an artist you found online would be bad but tracing from free or pay to use stocks like Clip Paint Studio or any photo stock reference is not.
And people seem to also forget. You can't own colors and generic patterns. Like no you don't own pink and green hair combo or spotty brown dog coats that occur on real dogs.
Artist community sometimes leave me scratching my head lately
Mod: Agree with you. Tracing stock photos and 3D pose models which are designed specifically for that reason is why they exist as assets.
Are you available for commission
So how does a commission scam work? You’ll get asks like this from blank blogs who didn’t see your commissions posts and instead are programmed to send these to anyone using certain tags. Afterwards, they’ll offer you $300 to draw a pet but won’t use your preferred payment option. Instead, they’ll ask for your email address. What happens next? You’ll get a phishing email claiming to be from PayPal saying you need to upgrade your account and when you click the link you’ll compromise your account details to the scammer who will then try to get your money. You will not be paid for your work at the scammer will then move on to someone else and block you.
If someone was really interested in commissioning you, they would already know the answer if they seen your post about it.
So what can you do? Block bots like this and warn other artists.
My god she just doesn't learn lmaoooo
Because god forbid you actually learn to draw in all the time you waste on tracing like a moron.
Effort is scary when you're a lazy loser :)
⚠️ ART THIEF BEWARE: Carina Ayland
It troubles me that I have to share this again, but here we are! The battle is not over it seems, and someone doesn't know when to learn. BEWARE of Carina Ayland on all socials!
This artist has a long history of stealing designs, color palettes from existing characters without permission, tracing (and selling things with those traced lines, such as her adolescent base), scams, harassment, lore theft, ko-fi leaks and much more. Please refer to the doc for all evidence (there is a LOT, so please view it either on desktop or in the Google docs mobile app - the web app won’t do it justice and there’s too much to post here):
Carina Ayland Documentation A gathering of evidence on the art thief, scammer and admin of Honorbound/Aethyr, an ARPG on Discord and devia
After the ‘resolution’ in March, Carina has continued to steal designs, trace content, and is pushing her ‘Aethyrian dragons are stolen!’ harassment campaign, even now. She was warned to end her theft, to stop the harassment, and she had agreed… but apparently never actually stopped.
The majority of her content has been stolen from TLOS communities like Destiny Intertwined, or other RPGs and fantasy worlds like BTACD. She will claim her theft is because of adhd or a ‘skill issue’. It is not.
Please DO NOT allow this person into your communities! Do not buy art - designs, commissions, bases, etc - from her, you will not know what is stolen and what isn’t! Do not allow her access to your characters, art, designs or lore! IGNORE, BLOCK, REPORT!

'kay, quick crash course on detecting Sora 2 vids. I'm not an expert, but these are what I look for.
There are an entire category of videos that you need to be suspicious of immediately at the current moment. Ring/security/dash cam videos. Especially funny/crazy ones. They're low quality as is, so they can get away with covering up some of the app's weakpoints. Also, Jake Paul. He's letting them use his face so he's the poster boy.
But other than "this seems way too crazy to actually happen", here's some things to look for.
Check the account. Usually they're very proud of their slop, so they'll have a pro-ai tell somewhere on the page, or more obvious videos.
Sora applies a moving watermark, and while that can be edited out, they're usually not good at it, so you'll see patchy sections.
And the biggest tell: Sora can't handle highly textured areas. Look at hair and trees or grass. Once you start to notice it, it'll become fairly obvious. Even along hard edges. I believe the term is "Sora noise." It's this warbling, almost nauseating shifting in the pattern. This is what those low res videos are hiding.
As far as animation, from the little I've seen, look for consistency issues. Mouths not syncing, weird motion, things not making logical sense/just popping in, and over reliance on super fast motion trying to hide the weaker points. I'm sure there's more, but I haven't seen as many Sora "animations" so I'm not as up to snuff on those.
I'd be cautious of the mainstream/popular fandoms especially.
Hope that helps! And remember, the moment you think you can't be tricked, that's when it'll get you. (Also make sure it's actually AI before you call someone out publicly and embarrass yourself.)
Hi uh
Please consider commissioning me
My car broke down with some pretty major damages and has cost me the rest of my paycheck that I was going to survive off of this month
I have bills due at the end of this month and I need to get food and I have zero dollars to pay for them
Thank you
