Virtual Ed? I got you covered! #StudyHacks
Hi! While most of us haven't yet got the opportunity to attend face to face sessions in a classroom atmosphere, it can be quite a tedious task to keep up with the energy and enthusiasm while attending classes from the comfort of our homes.
Well, Well, Here are some miscellaneous things I practise to make sure I make the most out of it.
First Things First, Know your priority.
Let me explain that for you. We visit a plenty of sites on a day to day basic, some work, some fun, some studies and most often than not, there is always a possibility that you can get easily distracted by one or the other while looking forward to read a paper, or attend classes. And that is a big no. I wouldn't suggest that you completely ignore them by adding extensions which would block these sites when you are trying to study, but rather have an entirely different browser from your usuals when you are in your study mode.
I use chrome to do all my chores, but whenever I'm to do a class work or simply attending classes, I switch to Safari.
I have designated Bookmarks to everything ed and that is very helpful on the long run. When not studying, I go back to chrome and do the rest of the things, like how I am writing this post on Tumblr right now. Know your priorities and this can help you in the long run.
Have the right Web Extensions handy
- Grammarly is a saviour, need I say more?
- Notion Web Clipper lets you save pages to your reading lists, especially if you are working on a specific topic, rather then save them all to the general reading list.
- Cite this page for me does its job pretty well.
- Pinterest Save Button is your one stop for everything inspiration.
Know where you can find resources
There are plenty of fish in the sea, but you ought to know where you can find the most trustworthy of 'em all. The internet is full of information that sometimes it is hard to differentiate the ones that are right and the ones that aren't, and everything comes with a price.
- Memory of the World Library
1. If you are looking for a specific file type, let's say pdf, make sure you mention it on the search. This way you can cut down on all the unnecessary sites that would pop up which is of no use to you
And if you don't want them to include specific terms, do that by adding the dashes (-)
See how we very easily managed to search about everything New York, but not the city, It's that easy.
There are many many more google hacks that you could use. And hey, don't forget Google Scholar, This one's especially made with the purpose kept in mind.
There is so much you could do. Let me know if you'd like more of these. And use this space to share more hacks maybe?
