Claudia lying to Louis about Lestat threatening her on the train, manipulating him into being her companion by painting Lestat solely as an absent spouse and violent predator, is in line with her character, and I don't think it dimishes her story or her experiences at all to have it confirmed that, yes, she lied to Louis so he'd focus on her and she could get a crumb of the care and attention that she needed to survive the world they brought her into. She knew Louis wouldn't leave Lestat, much less kill him, unless he was faced with Lestat harming her or leaving him for Antoinette.

That was her reality. She felt powerless, locked into a circumstance of depending on others to survive, but she was always second choice to them. The two people she had to depend on were devoted to each other in a toxic relationship that left no room for her needs. Breaking them apart was an act of self-preservation, and it gave her control in her life she'd never had before.

It doesn't make it morally right, but sometimes in abusive toxic situations there is no morality, there's just doing the things you need to do to keep yourself alive, and I think that's true to her character and also a huge theme of the show overall that people aren't fully taking in.

We watch her in season 1 having a massive existential breakdown about her body not aging with her, looking down the barrel of a lonely torturous eternity condemned to the body of a child, with the two men responsible for said existence as her only companions. Then they can't even to be bothered to comfort her about it properly. Instead they treat her dismissively or with rage or helplessness when she mentally ages out of her own body, her grief and behavior becomes erratic and endangering, but she can't pretend to be a child for them to control anymore.

To escape the parent and child dynamic they've been keeping her in, she leaves, goes out on her own to discover herself away from them, seeking knowledge about vampirism that Lestat refused to teach her (common young adult leaving for an out of state college experience tbh).

Then she meets Bruce, another vampire she's briefly excited to meet and share experiences with, and then those feeling are immediately shattered, she's physically overpowered, held captive, and repeatedly assaulted. She's left traumatized and furious and drained of all the hope she'd left home with.

Bruce is a nothing piece of shit and she knows it, but he leaves her with the shame of feeling gullible and weak and unsafe. She's furious at herself for letting her guard down enough to have him blindside her, and most of all for having the belief taken from her, that she could be strong enough on her own without needing someone else there to protect her.

It's because she knows she needs someone that she goes home. She didn't even have Louis in her mind specifically, but she watches him say goodbye to Grace, understands that she'd been turned to fill the loss of his family, and that because of that he needs her. Louis, who after 7 years apart, lets her know as soon as she's home that she'd been missed, and he needs her, and is at such a low place in his life with Lestat that he's finally willing to fight for her and leave him.

Whereas Lestat, had grown resentful of Louis' blame and depression around Claudia's leaving, and we know hates to be left and abandoned himself. He greets her with a cruel indifference, taunting what he did know about her assault, like it meant nothing to him that she'd left and had been hurt, but then turns rageful and violent when she say's she's here to leave again and take Louis with her.

He then cements Claudia choosing Louis over him as her target companion, when he rejects her as a fledgling. When he tells her that he'd never wanted her, and turning her had only ever been something he did for Louis.

He uses the cloud gift, revealing that he'd been concealing yet another huge part of vampirism from them, and uses it to crumple Louis in front of her, leaving him entirely dependent on Claudia's care, after she herself had just been abused by a stronger violent vampire and come home to collect a companion so she could continue her research and travel safely. Lestat crippling Louis takes that away from her, traumatizes her even more, and binds them to New Orleans for another 3 years while Louis heals.

It's when Lestat worms his way back into Louis's heart and convinces him to give him another chance in their lives, that Claudia knows she needs to make a plan of action. An escape that'll get her out of their never ending cycle of abuse and forgiveness, and put her in control of her life.

That means lying to and manipulating Louis, keeping him in the dark on the details of her plan cause she knew he was more loyal to Lestat than her.

She did whatever it took to make sure that when it came down to killing Lestat, Louis would believe it's justified, and wouldn't try to stop her. Making him believe Lestat was going to either leave him or hurt her.

Then Lestat, a paranoid and reactive deceiver himself, steps right into her trap, lashing out with behavior that reinforced the story she was feeding Louis.

She was smart, she was cunning, and she put herself first when no one else would! I love her for it!

I think Armand was telling the truth about Louis being aware of the 52 years of stalking. The questions I have are if he knew the extent that Daniel and Armand's relationship took, and if yes then why he'd keep it to himself in Dubai after the San Francisco memory suppression reveal?

There's a lot of interesting bits in season 1 & 2 to revisit that hint at louis's awareness of their relationship beyond San Francisco.

Louis and Armand both kept Armand's identity a secret from Daniel

Louis pointedly feeds on disguised Armand in front of Daniel and teases him for his attraction while Armand protests the conversation

Louis refers to Daniel several times as "Our boy"

Armand is in charge of scheduling Daniels doctor visits

Armand outs himself, and him and Louis go power couple mode poking at Daniels failed marriage together until Armand says they should stop

Louis and Armand's bedroom conversation about Daniel suggested a familiarity beyond the one week they all spent together

In the season 2 finale before Daniel does his big reveal Louis asks rashid to begin dinner and Armand says he hopes Daniel will join them, Louis then says they have something special prepared for Daniel, which to me sounds like they had agreed before hand to either turn Daniel or erase his memory of Dubai.

When Louis leaves at the end of s2 and threatens Armand not to harm Daniel, I think he already knows Armand wouldn't just kill him, and he's really threatening him not to go through with the turning but ultimately left the decision up to Armand

These things don't necessarily mean Louis Knew they were together, but he definitely knew Armand was watching Daniel, and that Daniel's life was significant to both of them.

Louis was also under the impression Armand had saved Daniel from him in San Francisco, and kept him alive and safe by erasing his memories. "He had a hunch Daniel would prove fruitful in later times"

Louis didn't remember it was him stopping Armand from feeding on Daniel that saved his life back then.

So any visits Armand paid to Daniel in the 52 years after 1973 could have been written off as kind check-ins as far as Louis is concerned. He didn't remember anything about the torture nights, and had no reason to believe Armand was going to harm Daniel. Maybe he also wanted to hear that Daniel was doing well after believing he was the one that almost killed him.

Also Louis' comment s2 when talking about Alice to Daniel "You felt freer holding her hand in Paris, I wonder why that is?", which just sounds like he's directly referencing Daniel and Armand's relationship, and being cruel about it cause he knows Daniels mind has been messed with beyond 1973.
