Lock onto the words, trying to hold your attention on specific ones for longer. Allow meanings and associations to flower from them, activating your thinking and feeling centres.

Pick some saying or text that has particular meaning for you, and practice on it. Try to let the words touch your essence, your soul, breaking through your personality and conditioning.

A further practice is to treat external objects and internal thoughts as “words”, grouped together. What story do they tell?
