They're talking about KƤƤrijƤ on some comedy panel show on TV and one of the panelists said "Sweden sent a world-class superstar vocalist to Eurovision, while we sent, well, Jere". I feel strongly about this statement for some reason
And that is why people were so disappointed I think, since it's kinda obvious a "world class superstar" will win, while KƤƤrijƤ was unpredictable, he was something new and exiting.

I'm just saying this because Eurovision is over and I want to rant a little:
I don't really get why people in this app, eurofans in general, rage about wanting to have more songs in their native language with their own traditions, folklore and so on. But that's just bullshit if you don't vote them in the contest, you just go with the most regular pop songs ever like Tattoo or Unicorn, they don't have all their televote points for anything. If you want folklore to have a decent place, support the song and most importantly, their artist.
Because I'm just so mad seeing every year people comparing artist with more famous ones from their origin country, like Spain, everybody gets to say that X artist is like RosalĆa or that they should have her as their candidate. Blanca Paloma had a pretty bulerĆa with touches of flamenco with it's own story, Mimicat sang on portuguese and so many artist who were victimized by the televote.
Girl-no.
Please, support folklore with their native language, don't be such a hypocrite to only like part of all the traditions that all of the European countries have to offer.
I think that most people on this app are pretty consistent of wanting more folklore inspired traditional music. I personally find that to be the most enjoyable, and usually always vote for it. I believe the main issue is all the people that don't take ESC too seriously, which is probably the majority. They will just vote for a song that is easy to enjoy.

Everything on ESC-Tumblr right now is just disappointment, and I truly understand why. I totally agree that Finland should have won. I don't watch Eurovision to se generic pop songs that are manufactured to be likeable. I want to see the crazy, the experimental, and the unique music that ESC is known for. It's honestly depresing to see *the jury* decide the contest like this.

addition: people who won Eurovision before should not be allowed to enter again. how is that even a thing? make room for new talent that rose to the occasion, don't use esc to award world-renowned superstars another fuckin trophy for their collection.
I totally agree. It makes the whole contest repetitive and boring, and leaves a sour aftertaste from the whole ordeal. It makes it all feel so much more forced and manufactured.
I would like to quote the boss of Eurovision Norway, HĆ„kon Aleksander RĆøssum. According to NRK, he 'thinks it's sad that the jury spoils the competition for good artists'.
"The fans should be in the jury. The fans have followed all the tests and know everything about the artists. EBU (European Broadcasting Union) should get their act together. It's not popular that the people's favourite doesn't win."
Martin Phillip Fjellanger, the founder of Eurovision Norway, is also unhappy. He believes the jury stopped a great victory for Finland. (NRK) He says that "it's pretty crazy that there are only five persons in each jury, and that they have so much power, compared to regular people".
I believe that I'm not alone when I say that I hope the juries are soon to be gone.

Okay, just because some of us havenāt been locked into whatever stupid job or path a cutie mark would have given us, doesnāt mean we donāt deserve the same level of respect as everypony else!
Like, for buckās sake, not everypony can achieve some great feat at the age of 7 years old! Some of us just havenāt bought into these lies that a cutie mark is the best thing that could happen to you. Youāre a deeply flawed pony, and I hope you learn from this.

I am sure that I'm not the only one who is yet again dissapointed by the UK parliament. For those who don't know, the Scottish Parliament wanted to ratify a bill that would make it much less stressful and frightening to legally change gender, as well as making it easier for younger trans people to get the medical help they need.
I am not from the UK, but I will do what I can to show my contempt over this decision, and I hope you will as well.
