I feel like some of you guys think "bad art" is like someone gluing rhinestones to a water melon, or a guy who made his own armchair out of Ohio license plates, or a trashy romance novel where someone says "the blue-eyed one kissed the brown-eyed one," when in reality bad art is a 1000000 Billion Dollar movie where none of the workers got paid and every single creative decision was market tested to see how lucrative of a profit it could foreseeably make to wow shareholders.

Felt like throwing this up here on my site, to keep it archived. 

I penciled and inked a page a day, and I went back and fixed the first page a little on day 2 because I felt I really started to nail the look of the cats by the time I got to the 2nd page. The ‘shitting’ panel was the fastest to execute. The art style was inspired by Art Spiegelman’s 'Maus’. The lettering was done by the always amazing Nate Piekos of blambot.com, who created the font used in the strip, as well as many others available on his web site.

maybe i like my tech a little bit inconvenient

maybe i like pulling out my debit card instead of using apple pay. maybe i like untangling my wired headphones. maybe i like typing something into the search bar instead of using siri or whatever. maybe i like curating my own social media feeds over an algorithm. i just don’t think everything has to be perfectly streamlined and efficient i like it when things feel tethered to the real world.

You know when in a movie there is a manic pixie dream girl character, but they show a lot of the negative side to the point of making us actually see that the manic pixie girl is a rlly unstable person who can't be in a relationship without making it toxic? Like on Watching the Detectives (2007) or ESOTSM. Idk about the Scott Pilgrim movie but yeah kinda.

And it's like, oh, you wanted a manic pixie girl, so you gotta put up with her instability now, man. Maybe one day she'll fake her death to disappear or she'll poison you, but you wanted a manic pixie girl, right? So.
