Rewatching the first two seasons with friends and listening to Neon Lights by Pim Stones got me in some Big Feels about how often these two are just left to pick themselves up (╥﹏╥) This combined with how Stiles is the only one to really stand up for Derek in the beginning was what made me ship them back when i first watched ♡

Derek, who maybe hovers too closely in Stiles’ space, especially when they’re out in public. he takes it personal when Stiles lightly pushes him back a little.

Derek, who looks like a kicked puppy when Stiles’ attention isn’t 100% on him in some form or fashion — why isn’t he touching me, why isn’t he looking at me, why won’t he ask me a question, “are you mad at me?”

Stiles, who rolls his eyes fondly, kissing Derek’s cheek and saying, “kochanie, no, i’m not mad! and no one’s taking me from you, i promise.”

For real though. If "I wrote this for myself" why wouldn't I go back to read it and high five myself over a job well done? And then at the end there's a bunch of comments from strangers (and fandom pals) ALSO telling me that I've done a good job? It's like feedback loop of dopamine...or maybe a dopamine circle jerk? I'm not actually sure but it's definitely one of those.
