Something about how Buck died, and he was ultimately ok-ish. But it took the baby being born to break him in the end. Buck let himself feel, finally. All the pain and grief and loss, how badly he does want to be a father but believes he never will be, all of it. I don't think I've ever been as gutted by Buck as I was in that moment.
And Natalia being there at the precise moment of his breaking? Of course, he clung to her. Of course.
for anon ♡
i feel like some people are reading way too much into buck saying that she see’s him. he literally says in the same conversation that he feels different and that he feels like he has to act like the same old buck for the sake of his loved ones.
he died, he’s clearly still struggling with the idea of that and then someone comes along who doesn’t know the old buck and it’s easy, and they think that the fact that he died is cool. she’s a stranger to him, she doesn’t know the old buck so he doesn’t have to constantly feel like he’s putting on a performance, pretending to be the same person he was before he died.
i also have thoughts about buck, the man who has been almost passively suicidal for as long as we’ve known him, feeling like he’s gotten away with something just because he didn’t die. he’s always been willing to die for everyone else but now he’s actually escaped death and he doesn’t know how to handle that.
eddie, the love isn’t unrequited, he’s just stupid

Some buddie doodles again just because I love them
hi i’m still thinking about buck believing maddie was sending him away when she gave him the jeep and wouldn’t leave with him and chimney knowing and then explaining to buck that maddie gave up her own escape plan to protect him and buck believing maddie just needed space when she ran away in s5 but chimney knowing she needed support and and eddie saying buck sees maddie differently bc she always took care of him and now maybe she’s the one who needs taking care of and then later in that same season eddie - who’s always been a pillar of support for buck - breaks down and buck immediately drops everything to take care of him and slots himself into the diaz daily routine bc he knows it so well and then buck gets struck by lightning after taking chimney’s place on the ladder and eddie and maddie are the only ones who can’t quite bring themselves to look at buck in the hospital bed and when he’s recovering maddie inadvertently smothers him because she’s afraid he’ll think he’s alone but eddie knows to wait buck out and let him come to him and he does and he finally admits how he’s actually feeling and he falls asleep on eddies couch and “maybe you don’t know her like he does” and the implications for all four of these characters keeps me up at night
buddie + female anatomy in season 6.

buck is tired. he gravitates towards eddie.
Given the whole Buck putting his head on Eddie’s shoulder thing, I feel like I have the right to plug this fic I wrote the day before. I’m a prophet.

#task failed successfully
buck putting his head down on eddie’s shoulder is actually foreshadowing for the finale, where he is gonna fall asleep on eddie while they’re both sitting on eddie’s couch. in this essay i will—
