PLEASE, SOMEONE WRITE THIS JK FIC. I'M BEGGING. 😭🙏🏻
I have been searching for a fic like this for AGES and I still haven't found one. So, if there's any author out there looking for a new slow-burn, heartbreaking storyline... please consider this. I would genuinely be forever grateful.
I want pain. I want yearning. I want the kind of slow burn where every chapter leaves your chest aching.
Here's the storyline I desperately want to read.....
The female lead falls first. Hard. She loves him with her whole heart.
Not in an obsessive way. Her entire personality should not revolve around him. She has her own hobbies, dreams, friendships, opinions, and a life outside of him. But loving him comes as naturally as breathing. She doesn't force herself into his life. She doesn't chase him. She simply loves him because... she does.
She's always there whenever he needs someone, not because she's trying to make him fall for her, but because she genuinely cares about him. Her heart softens every time she looks at him. She admires him quietly. He's kind, intelligent, funny, a little bratty at times... and completely unaware of how deeply she loves him.
Or maybe... he is aware.
Everyone in their friend group already knows she likes him. She never even had to confess because it's written all over her face. The way she looks at him, smiles at him, notices the smallest things about him... she simply cannot hide it.
And he knows too.
The problem?
He isn't interested.
Not because he's cruel.
Not because he hates her.
She's just... not his type.
He talks to her occasionally since they're in the same friend group, but that's all. He never gives her false hope. He never flirts. One day, he politely tells her that he doesn't feel the same way and asks if she could stop their friends from teasing him with her name because it makes him uncomfortable.
That conversation absolutely shatters her.
Not because he rejected her...
...but because she realizes she made him uncomfortable.
She starts blaming herself.
She feels guilty for loving him.
She begins thinking that maybe she crossed a line just by having feelings. Maybe she was selfish. Maybe she should've hidden it better. Maybe someone like him was always far out of her league.
She apologizes.
She quietly accepts his rejection.
And from that day onward, she slowly starts pulling herself away.
No more sitting beside him.
No more asking if he wants coffee.
No more waiting for him after class.
No more walking beside him.
No more looking at him longer than necessary.
She doesn't do any of this because she's angry.
She does it because she loves him enough to never make him uncomfortable again.
Then...
He starts dating someone else.
A beautiful, confident girl.
Someone everyone thinks is perfect for him.
He introduces her to the group, everyone welcomes her warmly, and she naturally becomes part of their circle.
The friends feel a little sad for the female lead because they always adored her, but they also knew he never returned her feelings.
So life moves on.
She watches them together.
She smiles.
She congratulates him.
And then...
She lets him go.
Or at least she tries to.
She convinces herself that maybe his girlfriend is better for him. Maybe that's what he deserves. Maybe loving someone also means accepting that you'll never be the one standing beside them.
So she focuses on herself.
She grows.
She heals.
Very, very slowly.
Then enters someone new.
Let's call him Joey.
Joey joins the friend group months later.
He's funny, sarcastic, warm, ridiculously easy to talk to, and somehow manages to bring out a completely different side of her.
She's usually the calmest and quietest person in the group.
But around Joey?
She laughs.
She argues.
She teases him back.
They discover they share the same interests, the same humor, the same taste in music and movies. They develop inside jokes no one else understands. Sometimes all it takes is one glance before they're laughing uncontrollably while the rest of the group stares in confusion.
They're always together.
Late-night conversations.
Coffee runs.
Random outings.
Playful arguments.
High-fives.
Shoulder bumps.
Comfortable hugs.
Nothing romantic.
Just two people who genuinely enjoy each other's company.
And then...
JK notices.
At first, he tells himself it doesn't matter.
Then he starts noticing every little thing.
Why does she laugh like that around Joey?
Why is she so comfortable with him?
Why does she look happier?
Why is she sharing pieces of herself with someone else when she never did that with him?
She used to look at him like he was the center of her world.
Now she barely even looks his way.
It shouldn't bother him.
He never wanted her.
So why does it hurt?
Why does every hug between them feel like someone twisting a knife into his chest?
Why does every shared smile make him irrationally angry?
Why does he suddenly hate Joey for absolutely no reason?
Meanwhile, his own relationship slowly starts falling apart.
His girlfriend realizes she only accepted his confession because he matched the image of the kind of boyfriend she wanted. He was attractive, smart, respected... someone who fit perfectly into her life.
JK had genuinely liked her.
But somewhere along the way, both of them realize something is missing.
Neither of them is truly happy.
So they end things mutually.
After the breakup...
JK feels strangely relieved.
And the first thought that crosses his mind is... (the thought of our female lead)
"Maybe she'll smile again."
"Maybe she'll come back."
"Maybe she'll look at me the way she used to."
But...
Nothing changes.
She stays exactly the same.
She treats him politely.
She smiles when necessary.
She talks to him only when the group requires it.
No lingering glances.
No quiet affection.
No special treatment.
Nothing.
As if the girl who once loved him with everything she had...
...no longer exists.
And that's when it finally hits him.
She really moved on.
Or at least...
she's trying to.
The realization destroys him.
He becomes restless.
He can't stop watching her.
Watching Joey make her laugh.
Watching her choose the seat beside Joey.
Watching her instinctively walk beside Joey.
Watching someone else receive the warmth that once belonged only to him.
The attention he never appreciated...
...is gone.
And now he wants it back.
Desperately.
Finally, one day, he gets the chance to talk to her alone.
She thinks it's just another casual conversation.
She's about to leave when he stops her.
He asks the question that's been haunting him.
"Were your feelings even real?"
She's confused.
Of course they were.
She quietly explains that yes, she truly loved him.
But she couldn't spend her whole life loving someone who would never love her back.
She had to move on.
For herself.
She apologizes once again if her feelings ever made him uncomfortable.
That apology completely breaks him.
Because that's not what he wanted.
He doesn't want her to move on.
He doesn't want someone else making her laugh.
He doesn't want another man getting the smiles, the hugs, the inside jokes, the affection that used to belong to him.
So he asks...
"Is it Joey?"
She tells him they're just friends.
But he's already spiraling.
He starts asking why she's always with Joey.
Why she's comfortable touching him.
Why she laughs so much around him.
Why she spends so much time with him.
Why Joey gets the version of her that he never got to know.
Then...
He finally breaks.
He confesses everything.
How every laugh she shares with Joey feels like a knife in his heart.
How every hug makes him want to drag Joey away from her.
How he hates seeing her smile at someone else.
How he never realized what she meant to him until she stopped looking at him.
How he wants all her attention.
Not for a day.
Not for a month.
Forever.
And she just stands there...
Unable to believe a single word she's hearing.
Because the man she spent years trying to forget...
Is now begging her not to let him go.
I want this to be SLOW BURN.
I don't want him falling after two chapters.
I want him to suffer.
I want him to regret every missed opportunity.
Every chapter should hurt.
Every interaction should leave readers screaming.
If you want to make him even more of an asshole....go for it. Make him make terrible decisions. Even make him cheat if it genuinely serves the plot. But then make him regret it so deeply that he spends the rest of the story yearning for her. I want him to earn every ounce of forgiveness.
And please, let the female lead stay a hopeless romantic without becoming weak. Let her grow, heal, and finally choose herself. Don't make her run back to him the moment he confesses.
I want emotional damage.
I want longing.
I want jealousy.
I want regret.
I want healing.
I want a love story that hurts before it heals.
If any author decides to write something like this, PLEASE tag me. I will read every single chapter. 😭🤍
