Seconding this recommendation, and in fact this person’s entire blog: he has multiple of these explainers and they’re all good.

In particular, if you’re a programmer who finds floating point numbers to be exotic dark magic, I strongly recommend his Exposing Floating Point post. There are many guides/tutorials on floating point arithmetic out there but IMO this is the best one and makes them really not seem so difficult by the end of it (or at least, all their counterintuitive behavior now makes sense).

I'd like to say i'm the one to save you, but how can I save you when I'm still trying to be like Buzz and fly. I'd love to shine up the ol' wonder women emblem that i like to pretend i have on my chest..but honestly..i'm broken and smashed and a wreck and nothing close to the glamorous wonder woman i aspire to be. 

i'm not something to be claimed or hidden away or locked down or chained or contained. I'm trying to build the muscle and regroup from the shit storm going on. i wont say that i'm some weak person and dog myself for not being able to stop/prevent what is going down in my life because truth be told, i had been doing just that for years. No, i'm not at the level of emotional strength that i wish to be. I want to be the independent awesome tastic bad ass dont mess with me strong and valiant eagle that my younger sisters view me as.  Part of what makes smart and wise people so awesome is that they know when to ask for help and know when to truly stop and that it's ok. They realize they gave it their all and there was NOTHING more that they could do and that if it falls apart it was meant to fall apart.
